I forgot to mention this in the video, but avoid chokepoints! They are systems with only 1-2 exit points, which makes them harder to escape from. Because of that, pirates will visit chokepoints more often than other systems.

My solution: Never touch PVP areas unless alternatives would require using the market, the moment you collect something you believe is of value, zoom off towards the nearest non-pvp area that allows you to deposit into storage, avoid systems with very few connections, if you need to remain in the server, bury yourself in a random planet, make them search for you instead of immediately locking you, if you and a pirate meet at the same area of a system, you are probably dead.

when u open trade, they cant see what ur doing. or, start shooting if ur have a combat turret to distract them. it doens't rly matter tho, as youve already been caught. youve basically lost already, lightburner or no

Even though I asked everything pirate would ask he warped to me, he was in marlin, for me it was very happy moment because I dont have to press MB1 alone anymore. Unfortunately I never ran into a player from that moment in wild systems.
Im pretty sure that you can still warp log while warping into a planet and closing the game immediatly before you actually arrive in there and that should immediatly despawn your ship. Me and my friend were doing it while encountering players in contested, unsecure and wild systems and it always worked

How well would a mixed fleet do against pirates Would be kinda huge... 1 Destroyer class ship (obviously optional) 1/2 Frigates (optional) 2 Corvettes 3 Interceptors 5 Fighters 2/6 Miners 2 Medium Haulers (in case you find crates and for longer trips) This fleet would obviously be stupidly large and an overkill just to defend miners And would probably rarely be able to even fully assemble considering how much players would be in it... But probably just the sheer size of the fleet could scare away some pirates
if ur in an unsecured system with a mission office, people will not want to destroy u often. most people don't even see the point of destroying fraction allies. the other player will want to destroy u less if ur allies with their npc fraction, but be careful.
if u need to go to wild find a wormhole in a secure system its a safe method there will be no NPC pirates on the other side u can safely launch a probe and nobody will really bother to launch a probe into secure systems bc of the lack of loot in secure systems meaning that player pirating is a low risk.

@@DankRobot typically yeah but anomalies come with much better benefits than just normal mining in wild systems. AA/AN anomalies of course give extremely good yields in bluecor, redcor, and axnit, but also you have a barrier against being pirated since the pirate would have to scan for the anomaly you’re in. Plus if you find a comet anomaly you can make a ton of easy money if you have ice miners.

Experienced miner tips When a stranger heads to your system, turn your engines up to full and fly straight away to the point of entry of said planet/anom/ring... your signal range is limited and having a darker colored paint will increase the chance of stealth. if they stay over the estimated 18 seconds in said system, increase your guard. if you are conversing with alleged pie rat and he pauses between conversations, he is finding you. imagine how much time in his perspective to find you, play the hider. imagine your the seeker and play chess :>
People fly in at random spots in planets and such just warp log, if u wann see if the player will leave which is not reccomended, Try to do a long warp where u warp across an entire system to an anomaly so they can’t attack you, if their still there, warp log. always bring lightburner
