I tried playing the gba version of DKC 3, which is my favorite because I have so much nostalgia tied to it and I personally feel like they butchered the interactions with the Bears. I was not a fan of it at all and it deterred me from playing it any further.
Also, I hated the soundtrack and was upset that they did not remain faithful to remaking the game with the original soundtrack. Lets hope the SMRPG remake on the Switch lives up to its expectations and is a faithful remake as a courtesy to the OG Mario players. Also: a DKC 1,2,3 remake for the Switch or the successor of the Switch would be based.
Very much waiting for a new DKC game on the Switch myself; let's hope for it sooner than later. And regarding the different soundtrack, I heard they didn't have a choice to do so; the SNES OST was too "bassy" and couldn't be ported without running into hardware issues.

Oh man, I absolutely hated the GBA versions of DKC.
Same. I did like the improvements that were made to the GBA version of DKC2 though
