Okay, of course the vocals are different, its a different band, with a different style covering an amazing song, not to mention a different vocalist. I don't get what some of you people expected
Fuckn love this cover. The screaming at the end is so badass. And it's so weird listening to IWABO play a song that doesn't change riffs and timing every 10 seconds.
I'm a big Muse fan, been so for years, and I've gotta say, solid cover. Matthew sets the bar high, and this is a great attempt and cool reimagining of the track. People who are just saying this is horrible need to get their ears cleaned out, there's some serious talent in this band.
Mykel Velasco are you kidding me? I mean... muse is pretty good, and iainttypingthiswholebandsnameout is pretty good too... but... this song is damn awesome !!
This is how I hear this song in my head already. It's like IWABO is all up in my head and shit. No offense, Muse is amazing, but my disdain for politics caries a bit more angst.
IWABO is not one of my favorite bands by any means, but at least they stand out against others in the scene. There are so many similar sounding bands that things have become predictable. IWABO keeps you on your toes no matter what and always comes with something odd sounding. Gotta respect that.
@kbnmDW triggers are used to pick up every bass drum hit or whatever at the same intensity, no matter how light, so playing in a big arena they are beneficial. and even if you don't record with triggers then the engineer making your record will replace quiet hits on a take with a sample. they don't make anybody a slack drummer. i've never used them live but i'm a hard hitter. most bands who use insanely fast double kick will use triggers. otherwise it sounds shite.
this cover shows the range of her voice. its amazing. she has perfect pitch and her voice is amazing clean like this. Im glad that she did it like this. really gives her more respect as a singer.
@dakotamanomgwtf Not necessarily , but there is a program when triggering called "Tempo Correction" that a lot of drummers use when tightening up their kick. At the same time I'm not killing the possibilities of the use of a drum machine. This bands first album was recorded using nothing but a drum machine program, and just by listening to the structure of the drums in this song, they honestly sound more machine than live.
@Dantheszabo very well refined with their vocals (misery signals) or have their own unique style, personality, tone, ect that they incorporate into their vocals & also put n a lot of practice (the rest of the bands i listed especially the showdown) the vocalists of these bands are the type that if they were feat. as guest vocals in a song a fan would be able to notice them in an instant and if one wasn't a fan and didn't know who they wer they would think "who is that & what band are they from?"
@TheJaysrock1 you have two options here: 1. change your tone of voice and then i will give you a proper reply or 2. not change your tone and i will continue to neglect your comment i suggest number one if you want to avoid any internal emotional conflict
@hb4eth You didn't get what I said. They took a song and sang it just like every one of their other songs. There was nothing different from the cover versions, compared to the band covering's other songs.
@Dantheszabo between her vocals and the vocalists from bands such as the acacia strain, misery signals, daath, devildriver, god forbid, the famine (specifically their album "the raven and the reaping" as of their new album they replaced the vocalist with a generic two tone vocalist similar to her vocals) lamb of god(later albums) meshuggah, devin townsend, and the showdown. all of these vocalists are either
@Brandonlym What do you play, exactly? Let's see you play drum tracks that were originally created with drum machines. Let's see you hit the highs and lows and clean vocals their singer does. You probably have no experience playing anything.
+Jayden Cross IWABO isn't heavy metal. It's Deathcore. And if you don't know heavy metal and metal are two different things. Heavy metal is a light genre of metal.
@ReamusWylde513 I sat here in my own mind, enjoying the sweet tunes, when I looked at the time. 5 seconds left and I grabbed them like nothing else mattered. Glad I did. Phew!
@Dantheszabo her metal vocals are standard. typical sceney-bopper screamo, high pitch scream low pitch growl, mixed with a little goregrind/grindcore vocals (which are rather hard for anyone to screw up). she sounds like any other vocalist in the bands associated with this one. i.e.: devil wears prada, alesana, veil of maya, bring me the horizon, blah blah blah yada yada etc. the difference between these vocalists and an actually impressive one is the difference
@Sykmos Metallica, Slayer, Muse, Black Sabbath, and any other band I failed to mention are shitty? Dude, the only reason the bands that did the covers are even around today is because of the people who pioneered what metal is today.
@Opulence I'm pretty sure she is the one who screams. Just started listening to the bands music so if wrong sorry. But I am pretty sure she does all the screaming in all their songs.
@Hilltopper2015 Not Death/Black metal just her metal vocals....It may be hard to explain but there is a difference. Death metal vocals are more of a deep growl and black metal is usually a harsh "rasp". I don't care for her "heavy" vocals but she has a nice singing voice.
@DJxOCEANx Wrong wrong wrong. You can't differenciate between "not liking something" and "being bad musicians". I've seen this band live, I was surprised how fucking tight they were and how she could deliver the vocals exactly as in she does in the studio. She's a great vocalist. She's got a great breath controll, hits all the notes can belt like fuck what yet sing smooth and jazzy or with soul. Not only can she do that but she can do what most death metal vocalists do, but a lot better.
@Theheavymetalscott I actually have only listened to Icarus lives which kinda just sounds like a pop band in drop G but apparently they're really so I may have to check them ou + I'm also seeing them with the Human Abstract and the Contortionist in October, its just gonna be fucking Epic PULL ME FROM THE GALLOWS
@RandomHero5677 ? i've listened to everything by Muse and i like their Showbiz, Origin Of Symmetry albums and tracks from Absolution but that's all i got into, maybe 2-3 tracks from Black Holes And Revelations especially Glorious
@TheErweeq ...which is why this song was covered on the Homefront soundtrack. Believe me, I've studied the lyrics to almost every Muse song as well as their political orientation. I know what Uprising is about. As for the "IT DIDN'T NEED AN AWFUL COVER", BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW CRY MORE. Bands cover songs. Simple as that.
gahh, lovin' these covers. but can't go wrong with originals neither! i'm glad some part of this generation, haven't forgotten where the heart of music is.
I like this version they sounded more like Muse for most of the song, but then broke out into something of their own music style and I respect that. Not every song is going to sound the same because that would be boring which is why I love IWABO.
This is how you cover songs... you make them your own. Improving muse to MY liking (I capitalised MY to let you know that people have different opinions in taste)
@Dantheszabo point blank: just because the standards around you are low doesn't mean that only living up to those standards is ok. if i were in a band i would rather be famous for being good, not for being just another band who managed to get their tshirt on a wall. this is the day and age of mediocrity and low standards. i suggest you view the bands i listed and freshen up. their is a world of music out there. you just have to find it. i just gave you a head start. hell, just check my favorites
@RandomHero5677 Is there supposed to be some kind of rivalry between the two because they covered one of their songs? I'm not understanding how loving more than one band/genre of music is as contradictory as you're implying. It's all good. Except Muse's latest album. Honestly I just couldn't get into it as much as their other stuff. But if people like it (which they obviously do), then that's cool. Just not for me. I'm just really impressed with this cover. Cheers.
@@BuescherSupremacist Courtney was at the end of this band’s run. Pretty sure this cover came out before she joined in. I could be wrong as I say this from info off the top of my head.
@Brandonlym and 90% of the bands you find in hot topic aren't. this one isn't an exception. but i will say the acacia strain and misery signals definitely are
This song just goes to show you how talented these guys actually are. I know they got their grindcore thing going on - but I wish they'd make a few songs like this. This fuckin' rocks. Straight up.
@biloxi1314 I've disliked Muse longer than I've even known this band. It's not because I like IWABO, it just that I hate Muse. This cover actually bothers me a little because I'm not a fan of this song, but they make it bearable.
@ImIntoAnimals Spencer Sotelo is one of the greatest metal vocalists in the scene right now! :) Whether you like him or not, he has the most insane vocal range.
Okay, of course the vocals are different, its a different band, with a different style covering an amazing song, not to mention a different vocalist. I don't get what some of you people expected

They loved it. Her strap on must have felt devine.

I’m just mad that the whole soundtrack isn’t on Spotify. Plus this version is so good and frantic.
Fuckn love this cover. The screaming at the end is so badass.
And it's so weird listening to IWABO play a song that doesn't change riffs and timing every 10 seconds.
What? They didn't sing it the exact same way as the original? This is insanity. Come on people, of course its different.

0:24 good drums! :)
0:47 girl voice? nice :) (I didn't knew IWABO before)

Best Muse Cover EVER

Epic cover by an amazingly talented band. Dual-tracking her voice at the end sounded unbelievable. This is going on my Epic playlist for good reason.
this is awesome. i like how they put in their own sound at the end but incorporated the actual song's sound throughout
My ears are bleeding vomit of AMAZINGNESS

@Teskus My apologies, I must have mis-construed your comment. Cheers indeed :)
People hatin. As a Muse fan, I say this version is much better, since the original isn't really that good compared to other Muse songs anyway.
definitely one of their most overrated songs compared to say Showbiz
@xXCrewcabangerXx its not an album its the sound track to homefront, they had a free dowload of the album but it was only for a day sorry.(torrents?)
