Welcome back to the stage of JAG THE GEMINI
This is such a fascinating topic imo. You can almost say that the people who were resonsible for the german version of space seed had an easier job to predict how likely certain futuristic events might happen due to being closer to those time frames.

The reason that you're having the issues with the suspended sleep and it's interference with the timeline of "Enterprise" (at 5:18) is the 100 year discrepency that the German translation has. The German translation is not canon, so it is having an issue with the time line.
I realize that the translation (I used to live in Germany and had to listen to "Raumshiff Enterprise" (as it was called) was done early 70s, but because it's not s direct translation of Roddenberry's dialogue, it may not have the benefit of Roddenberry's foresight of the franchise.
In any event, even Star Trek is not immune to plot holes that need plugging. Checkov not being in the episode of Space Seed is definitely one of them, though there are some non-canon explanations that make a little sense, anyway.
As far as Checkov's comment about Khan being"...a product of late 20th century engineering", that is still consistent with the timeline. Obviously, Khan's comment about "...200 years ago I was a prince..." does indeed fix his time on Earth about 2080.
I like that the German translation solves the math problem. It just creates the one you were referring to in the beginning.
      Just a thought.

@@meme9492 yeah I know what you mean.
But by comparsion, the German Version has by far less Problems imo and it would fix about 90% of the Eugenic Wars Timeline discrepancies.

@@JAGtheTrekkieGEMINI1701 I did want to say think you for something in this all though. I saw the episode in English and in German. NOW I have a certain amount of insight into WHY the translation did NOT match. But I digress.
I think if we take the Eugenics Wars as mentioned in the original series, and understand that the actor or the script could have created the problem and not the timeline, it might make more sense. Consider the following:
Script writer may have made a simple, and all too common, math error and had Ricardo Montalban say 200, when he meant 300. That would solve the issue. Perhaps the script did say 300 and Ricardo Montalban simply said 200 by mistake. These are not uncommon in acting and would fix the entire sequence. Admittedly, this is only a thought, since there is no mention of it anywhere in any interview as being the case.
There is also no mention that I can find that sets a specific timeline when Khan Noonian Singh was actually removed and sent off into space. Yes, the Eugenics Wars anded in mid 90s, and they were largely defeated, but there is no mention of when he was actually captured and sent off.
Perhaps he was captured and placed in cryostasis for those years between 1990s and 2080. The humans got tired or fearful of the existance of them and simply pushed them out there is the argumant that at some point during Khan's 15 years on the Ceti Alpha 5 he would have figured it out and would have said 300, not 200.
Perhaps he was finally defeated but not captured until around 2080. Many megalomaniacs, when faced with the reality, are in denial. Khan certainly would not be immune to this. To admit he was deposed 100 years before and subjected to the humiliation of being jailed by the very inferior intellects that he despised might have been too much.
Perhaps it just really is what they call a "continuity error" that no canon answer can fix and can only be left to non-canon speculation.

But now it is Canon and makes no real Sense. ... HE should really know when his reign on earth was.
And Kahn was never captured... He fled with his Comrads when the war was lost for them, that is all we know and what is described as canon

Great video! I think we all agree that Ricardo Montalban is irreplaceable as Khan. That being said, I'd like to submit my story change to ST: Into Darkness--It's very simple. Instead of Benedict Cumberbatch being Khan, he remains as Jonathan (whatever his fake name was). At the end of the movie, we slowly zoom in on a torpedo tube and see through the frosty haze, Khan, still in his cryo-sleep. This change would have left Ricard Montalban's legacy in tact, and also impress on us the power of Khan's crew, leaving us wondering what have happened if Khan had been awakened instead. (Of course, the movie needed a lot of other changes as well...)

Here is a very easy fix for the Eugenics Wars. An admiral looks into the camera, breaks the fourth wall and states what all Trek fans know to be true. "The Eugenics Wars did not happen. It was one poorly thought out episode, and we're sorry."

The German version causes an even bigger plot hole. According to Star Trek First Contact. The flight of the Phoenix April 5th 2063. How can you have the Eugenics Wars with Vulcans hanging around?

So you really think there was Just Peace all of the sudden Just cause The vulcans appeared on Earth?
It was mentioned in Enterprise that since the arrival of the vulcans, humanity has overcome diseases, hunger and *WAR* in Just under 100 years. So that makes it possible actually possible that the Eugenic wars were the last war ever fought on Earth at a time when humanity was changing for the better.
And also, Kahn and His Crew are not affected in the slightestl by the appereance of Alien races, which Supports my theory that they might have already known of vulcans and other races before they left earth.

@@JAGtheTrekkieGEMINI1701: Do you think that the supermen who rose to almost conquer the Earth and rule would let the development of the warp V engine alone? The whole idea of sleeper ships at or about the ST Enterprise era dose not fly since Travis Mayweather was born and grew up on his family ran freighter ship which had a top speed of warp 1.3. He talked about doing his whole education from Kindergarten to High School. The problem with the whole Star Trek franchise is that they did not care about any continuity that the average joe who watches it cares about. The exception of Voyager whose overall story arc was to get back to the Federation, you had the war with the Xinidi in Enterprise and the Dominion in DS9. I’m not saying that Earth was paradise during the ST Enterprise, but the Eugenics war would not be isolated to the Indian subcontinent either.

Let’s say our history is not Star Trek history. And in our world the world wars on Earth were limited to certain regions. For instance, WW1 was centered in Europe. WW2 in Europe and Pacific region. So most of the world was not physically damaged. In all likely hood WW3 and Eugenics happened in Asia. Seems these terms were used interchangeably. But a conflict could have spilled over to other parts like a nuke landing in another continent.
