Me: "ok, now i wanna try to make the same!"
CPU: "Please, No!!!"
me: today i will run more than 3 instances of serum
cpu: no, I don't think I will
@@rx456 and how does that make it run 3 serum instances?
Vital: what is a CPU??
this is what i asked for
finaly a person who can make supersaws
i was watching dylan tallchief's video of virtual riot and i wanted to make a supersaw similar to riot's
but sadly dylan didn't explain it how to do it
luckly this video got uploaded and i am realy happy to learn something that i was lookig for months now
thank you for bringing back my creativity again to life
Great to hear that! Keep making great music!
my cpu exploded just watching this
awesome video btw
@Janusz Reguła okay but how do I 16 voices on both oscillators without causing a housefire?...
@Janusz Reguła I think thats the plan there chief
esce. Hahaha so did my $400 headphones and my ear drums lol
I felt that
Nice comment. 😅
Yup. This is exactly how you do it. This is THE BEST way. Too many tutorials on RUclips with strange methods and tricks like not showing you the post processing. Love how Ovrsmpld shows himself dropping OTT and actually touching the knobs the way he likes it. Same with the flavor he put on the bass layer. alright i'm outta here, great stuff.
this sounds weirdly sexual
you don't always have to use the bottom note for the bass, try using other notes in the chord to give a different feel
This inspires me
@@c0deerror your reply is wholesome this inspires me too

Very good. Much wholesome. OwO

Always look forward to your uploads - this is an outstanding tutorial. Appreciate seeing it all come together from scratch, and the final result is exactly what I've been looking for. Excited to try this out myself 😀
This is perfect technique for future bass!
Out of all the tutorial channels on youtube, this one is the most underrated , not gonna lie. Awesome video
This is really great! One of the best supersaw tutorials I have found.
Typically, I don’t do a whole lot of mixing with my supersaw stacks. If you want everything to sound thick, I recommend using 5 or 6 layers in total: clean sub, mid bass (thick crunchy low-mids with subs and highs cut out), 2-3 chord stacks, and a crazy arpeggio (to keep some movement). If you use 3 chord stacks, make one of them with a phaser effect for even more movement. Adjust volumes as you see fit. Each chord stack should be slightly different. I recommend playing around with the unison width, octave, and waveform. Even make your own waveform if you wanna be fancy!
We got a pro over here!!!!!!
This is the most underrated music production guide video of all time. Change my mind
Bro this beat is amazing! Love this synth, i will defenitely try this on Serum
thanks for the tip mate ! I've been struggling for so long with saws
Glad you're still there ! Great video !
Damn it looks like I’m going to have to go thru all ur videos and rewatch every damn one - so helpful
You are incredibly helpful... Thank you for all the videos!
Brilliant and beautiful. Thanks so much for this inspiring tutorial!!!
thanks a lot mate! I'm making future bass track now and your videos help me a lot! I subscribed thanks x
love your tutorials dude! keep it up!
Best supersaw tutorial on the web. Thanks
Very good tutorial, i've been producing melodic dubstep for a couple years and this definitely gave me a few tidbits I didn't already know.
AND THANK GOD you aren't spouting insinuated or overt self-promotion bullshit all the time.
Content and content only, good stuff
one of the most helpful tutorials ive seen
Dude, ur vids help me a lot everytime
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!!
This was such an informational video ! It's 4 am and I'm in bed but thanks to you I really want to turn back on my computer
Very well done man 👌🏻
This helped me alot. Thanks!
Great video. Dope chord progression.
I like this tutorial riff more than any future bass song I have ever heard.
your tutorials are the best on youtube
Awesome bro!
damn man this is amazing, subbed!
*PLEASE MAKE THIS A FULL TRACK*
Thank you for these tutorials. They are very clear yet thorough.
Out of curiosity: why did you choose to use xfer's OTT plug in instead of Ableton's own? Is there an advantage to the third party plugin over the original?
0:03 is that...every single track on Worlds? You have earned my respect before even showing me anything.
Edit: You earned even more respect after showing me things. Great vid.
Good tut brother
Pretty cool, thanks! - Subbed 👍
Thanks for this vid 👌🏽
I was always afraid of layering for some reason, I thought one sound would be enough. But I see your side
I thought the same at the beginning. Virtual Riot taught me that layering gives more beef to the sound
Layering is one of those subtle details that make your track sound significantly more professional
I'd say it all depends. If you have a vst that has a bunch of oscillators or sound generators you can have every part of the spectrum covered in one sound. I'd say it's a matter of experimentation.

Bro That's awesome. Have you drop the final track?
Awesome vid' man, keep going, that's what I was looking for ! 😍
Another tutorial suggestion would be an OTT ou Multiband compressor tutorial (depending on the element you compress) ?
I already did the video about OTT :)
Just when I'm learning how to use saws, this shows up.
Perfect
Speechless😮
good stuff!!!! thank you!!!!!!
yo this beat is bangin
Keep up the good work brotha! Would you ever do a video on your methods for writing chord progressions for future bass?
seconded ^^^
I get requests for that type of video, so I probably will!
.
.
.
But first of all.. I'll have to figure out How To Music Theory 🤔
damn those drums bang
Damn. This video is solid
Cool chord progression!
Hey, do you think you could to a part 2 to this tutorial and maybe go over how to make one or a few of the layers like the ones you demonstrated near the middle of your tutorial. Maybe go over how to specifically approach building a preset that is intended for stacking in super saw layers? That would be super helpful!
🤔 Maybe
Very amazing video captain!
Big thanks sailor!
YOu make the best videos ty
very dictactic as always
amazing sounds too
damn you popping off
Man that chord progression is dope.
thank you
Hey man, watchin every drop of information from your videos! I have a damn question tho: how do you deal with all the noise from supersaws in mono? It always end up being so durty and noisy... I feel like I really need that noise in stereo, but mono completely sucks ass all the time...
What preset pack is that with all those cool chord variations ?
That chord progession was so sick brooo'🤯🌌
and... thank you very much for the tutorial!!! It's really helpful!!!🙏
Thanks for lesson
Thanks for the comment!
hey can u tell me what is the background music in the beginning of video?
Whoa, I'm here early. Good video :D
*Producer Tip:*
Never put Kryptonite near your supsersaws
underrated comment
Oh boi let's go
ohhh the chord progression from flare :)
Filtering and modulation made simple would be really helpful next for a lot of people
the midi is dopeeee
Which serum skin is this? It looks sick!
Dope
Nice video, though I wonder if you can even consider the bass as part of the supersaw. I'm still learning, but the latest pad I made used a similar process, and it was my best yet. I'd add that sometimes changing the chords of individual layers may help to avoid clutter, it did for me at least.

O.Kay so check it
Hey what song is being played on background
My chords layer doesn't sound good in mono they get lost when i play in mono something like phase issue helpme
0:03 Holy Shit. YOU HAVE TONS OF PORTER ROBINSON'S PRESET THO. XD
where can one get those from?
He created those porter robinson presets
Quality
Ott when you use ableton, and its built in?
Sick video just subbed. Do you usually use default compressor and not glue compressor to sidechain supersaws?
U usually use LFOTOOL
0:49 Paper skies - Flare
holy crap im buying lfo tool
Paper Skies - Flare
Saw Waves are used so much in synthesis. Probably cause they are pretty harmonic
Where can I get that skin for serum
Fucking impeccable tutorial. I've watched 2 videos as of yet, and every single one of them has presented brilliant ideas. Love this channel. Subbed. Also, what are your pc specs? That's a crazy amount of unison and instances of serum. My DAW wouldn't have been able to handle that.
Thanks!
I'm using laptop with:
i5 7300HQ
Komplete Audio 6 (decent audio interface helps a lot of you want to stack the layers!)
8 gigs of RAM
HDD drive (ssd recommended though)
Great tutorial! I'm also really digging the chord progression.
Will this be a track? Where might I find a midi file in order to remix?
Bit late but seems like this was the reference track
Cole Sipe - Innocent (feat. Sophia Odiorne)
TheProglitching, nah. It’s from a cymatics pack called “Who Came After,” it’s free. The midi is called “WCA - Epic Progression 3”
Nice, but what about processing the group as a whole? Maybe a little bit of multiband compression would help them to be more cohesive-sounding and glue them together?
It's up to you how you process the whole group. I sometimes use OTT sometimes it sounds good enough to me to not use any effects
Love those chords! Have you already listened to "Flares" by Paper Skies
Yeah and I'm not sure why the chord progression is the same :D
Serum skin is 😍😍😍😍😍😍 Spare a link with us xD?
Why u dont use ott from ableton?
Where can I get this serum skin???
Good video. But you have to mix the layers (EQ and stuff like that) and thats also an important part that you could have showed a bit more detailed.
please i need to know how to make the sound at 5 :40
He's always Epic💌❤
The tutorial is great and everything, but... *where can I listen to the full song?*
I guess on my Mac only :p
Yeaeaahaehhaehehhhhhhhhh future bass for life!
Your chords are amazing, but maybe you could do a tutorial on the music theory? Sure it's easy to make a basic progression, but it's a struggle to make an actually interesting progression, at least for me.
Damn, I don't know much about music theory itself :P I write chords by ear. I use minor, major chords, 7ths, 9ths, I usually invert some chords and double some notes up/down an octave
same, I'm impressed that you got your example progression in the video to sound directional though, like it's not just a super basic 2-4 chord loop. my progressions usually sound random and aimless.
@@wibbletonwobs9150 The example chord progression is from a MIDI chord progression pack. I definitely know this, because when I first heard it, I loved it so much that I learned how to play it on the piano. I think it was from Cymatics, but I'm unsure.
WibbletonWobs Okay I found it on my iMac. It’s a midi chord progress by Cymatics from the Who Came After pack titled “WCA - Epic Progression 3.” It’s a nice chord progression, so go get it, the pack is a free download.
I like the one at 5:49
I noticed you used OTT. Serum's onboard EQ is practically OTT. Do you find the standalone OTT better than the onboard EQ?
Yeah, sounds better for me
Oversampled Also, why not use the integrated Ableton OTT rather than the vst?
OTT started in Ableton. Then Steve Duda cloned it. Then he also included in Serum. Why did you use the plugin version? Also, guys it's a multiband compressor not an EQ.
what is ott?
0:03 porter robinson's preset!!
Do you pan the supersaws to the left or right or do you keep it all center?
usually I keep them all in center, but detuned so they spread all across the stereo space
unison 16 voices on both oscillators howtf is ur cpu not crashing!
reminds me of No stopping us by dark cat
