+Juan Fabre Holy shit. From now on, fantasy writers can just play yogg-saron for inspiration, if they ever need to invent a doomsday prophecy for their lore. This is... holy shit, I think you could even make a website translating yogg-simulators in to poetic ragnaroc-like songs! BRB learning how to program.
Gosh this was such a good video! He was so happy, the game was so simple, the enjoyment derived is just as good as, if not better than it was 7 years ago! I only wish for hearthstone to get to a point again where kripp has as much fun playing it that he used to ❤️
I watched all your HS videos for the last few years, looking forward to them every day. Love to see you get excited like this. Keep em coming, great content!
Azure I remember hearing about some type of bug that does that right before a hero dies, but I can't remember for the life of me why that existed. I think it was first discovered through Juraxxus
best yogg i ever had: i was on 1 hp with one minion, enemy on 10. yogg clears everything and does nothing, but the last spells call every animal companion and polymorph boar my useless minion and I win with boarcharges. 10/10 would yogg again.
I want there to be a tavern brawl where any minion you play casts a random spell of the same cost, instead of putting of putting the spell in your hand. Yogg Tavern Brawl
I got my best yogg yesterday. Opponent had two taunted giants on the board and a sunfury. I had nothing. We were both around 4-6 health, one giant was on 6 health, the other full. My yogg Sabotaged the healthy giant, fireballed the injured one, frostbolted the sunfury, then cast animal companion (huffer) and gave it inner rage.
Kripp, your daily videos are awesome, especially because they are 2, but i'm concerned about your health. If you fell to exhausted please, just put up one or even 2 every other day. I care about you, my favorite streamer.
+rab bum That's because the damage subtracts for one and multiplies by itself. It's currently unknown to the community why this is happening, but it is.
Yog is a card that you use it when you are sure that you are going to lose the game in the next turn, just like Deathwing. I got a mind vision out of a spell slinger, then i got yog out of the mind vision, i played gromash he got sniped and mirrored, enemy killed my gromash, he attacked 2 times with his gromash and set me at 9 hp, i used yog and yog killed 2 of his minions and mind controled his gromash and won the game. I am pretty sure he regreats using spellslinger.
Moral of the story is: The bigger the Yogg the more likely it is to kill you. Your best bet is to play Yogg when you still have half a deck to draw from :P
the more spells you play, the more cards you draw... so on top of yogg casting a higher number of spells just being more likely to kill you, it's more likely to fatigue you. and there are so many cards with draw effects that you're WAY more likely to die by fatigue than your opinion is to die by one of the (relatively rare) 'damage enemy hero' spells. the damage enemy hero effect seems a lot more common on minion battlecries & deathrattles than on spells, but i haven't actually counted so i'm not sure. anyway just seems like it's really easy to make a judgment call that the more spells yogg casts, the more likely he is to damage you whether by spells, fatigue, or both. yogg is really best for dire situations where you need a board clear or you will 100% die. that way you're turning guaranteed death into an RNG toss-up. since there are so many board clearing spells, yogg doesn't need to cast that many spells to save you from certain death. playing more spells might save you from certain death then immediately doom you to suicide... it also might summon and buff a bunch of minions, but does that ever seem to happen? especially in this video i see good effects, bad effects, good effects, bad effects, and so on. you summon & buff a bunch of minions then immediately kill them. nothing good seems to stick around very often, and the longer it goes on the higher the chance of fatigue damage. so i suspect there's got to be a statistical sweet spot with yogg, where the probability of a net positive effect is highest. there's also got to be a sweet spot with respect to how many cards are still in your deck... so the total sweet spot would mean the closest you can get to the 1st sweet spot without reaching a certain probability of fatigue damage. you might be able to take hero HP into account as well, but the more variables you add the harder it is to compute. idk if that makes sense, but to put it really simply, the only way to determine the ideal way to play yogg is to put every spell into a simulator and have it run a statistical analysis listing all the outcomes of each possible play, given x = 1-60 spells, y = cards remaining in deck, z = 1-30+30 hp/armor. you get enough samples of each possible play and you will end up with the average win rate for each play, the one with the highest win rate would be the ideal game conditions for playing yogg. past a certain point obviously - it's possible that playing yogg the second you get 10 mana is technically the safest route statistically speaking, but it could have such a minor effect with so few spells that you'd want to set a minimum spell count. it's impossible to accurately guess the ideal conditions but i'd imagine somewhere in the realm of 7 spells without brann, as much HP as possible, and as many cards in the deck as possible obviously. so that'd mean trying to cast 7 spells without drawing excessively, thus taking advantage of any effects that generate cards from scratch and add them to the deck or to your hand, and summoning yogg the moment you hit 7. if you can't pull that off and playing yogg becomes risky due to low card count or low HP, at a certain point i think it would become statistically much safer to just leave him in your hand until you think your opponent will have lethal the next turn. as a general rule it must be better to play the riskiest card in the game when you're certain you'll die otherwise than to play it in the middle of the game. but there's bound to be a set of variables for which yogg-saron is not that risky and potentially very rewarding, such that it can be used for something other than a last-resort gamble.
Given the amount of cards that draw spells, double battlecry Yogg with no cards left in the deck is virtually guaranteed to kill you via fatigue (unless it kills your opponent first via direct damage spells).
Yogg is a great card when you are going to lose from a board of large minions. Personally I use a rogue with headcrack and some other rogue spells. I also use a summoning stone for unlimited 3 drops. Yogg is a good when you have like 5 to 10 spells
I think Yogg's nightmare is living. Dude tries to kill himself every time he's played.
+Mathmachine Well he is the god of death
+VictinisClaw God of death that induces madness into everyone who's near him. This is why his battlecry is so crazy.

That was literally the best Kripp's video of this year at least.
I watched all your HS videos for the last few years, looking forward to them every day. Love to see you get excited like this. Keep em coming, great content!
That might be the single best video you've put out so far. Just pure 30 minutes of laughter.
Thanks, Kripp, you're the best

The biggest buff to Yogg. "Excludes draw cards"
and astral comunion
+Sasaki (Sasaki Kojiro) If he just wouldnt target himself that would be enough to make him a good card... imho
Best video I have seen in recent memory. I could easily watch 15 more videos of this
I miss Yogg's battlecry before his nerf. Rip. Never forgeterrino
Commanding shout should probably be a one of in this kind of deck.
Didn't PappaKripp ever tell you? "you live by the spellbender, you die by the spellbender"
Im here for Skipperino 2:59
Dat record though. He's getting excited, excited...
And then you hear his soul getting crushed with each card draw.
One of the best videos you have ever made thanks for that, made my day so much better.

I managed to get a fairly large yogg (I would say around 25 spells) and the very first spell was a fireball to my face, which was perfect lethal
The best yogg was day one on that Praise Yogg! video.
+dragonhawkk
And it had the best live commentary.
"Brann, live eternally. Welcome back, Brann. Goodbye Brann."
yeah, guy on day one nailed it perfectly. And the lethal that built slowly is insane.
Yogg-Saron: Kills you so dead you reincarnate as a warsong commander.

guys i have a confession i live in korea and he posts his video at 4am for me ... Kripp made my sleep pattern really really bad someone help me.
Yog is a card that you use it when you are sure that you are going to lose the game in the next turn, just like Deathwing.

This Yogg dude is a pretty good magician!
Did anyone else see Kripps 64 atk weapon at around 16:15? Really wish i could've seen the construction of that monster dagger :')
Its a bug when you die with a weapon/druid hero power etc... in your own turn
Emmanuel Roche-Pitard ohhhhh, ok. Never had that happen to me before.
In an arranged game you can probably go over 200 spells with several Chromagus, Cho and the like. Would be fun to see.
the hardest part about this is not having the enemy surrender when they run out of cards xD
i had some fun with a 60 spell cast, wonder if you can faceless bran tho
I'm pretty sure his text is that they trigger twice so regardless of the number of Branns it would only trigger the battlecry twice.
Best video in a long time!
22:08 the "jaraxxus into 16attack hero death" bug
Moral of the story is: The bigger the Yogg the more likely it is to kill you. Your best bet is to play Yogg when you still have half a deck to draw from :P
+ZeRedSpy He`s greedy.
Get it?
you can use gallywix in wild for more spells
Remove draw spells from Yogg's list of spells and it will become a good card.
Actually, draw card spells are a good get from Yogg. You just want to play it around turn 10 instead of turn fucking 25-30 like he was doing.
the more spells you play, the more cards you draw... so on top of yogg casting a higher number of spells just being more likely to kill you, it's more likely to fatigue you. and there are so many cards with draw effects that you're WAY more likely to die by fatigue than your opinion is to die by one of the (relatively rare) 'damage enemy hero' spells. the damage enemy hero effect seems a lot more common on minion battlecries & deathrattles than on spells, but i haven't actually counted so i'm not sure. anyway just seems like it's really easy to make a judgment call that the more spells yogg casts, the more likely he is to damage you whether by spells, fatigue, or both. yogg is really best for dire situations where you need a board clear or you will 100% die. that way you're turning guaranteed death into an RNG toss-up. since there are so many board clearing spells, yogg doesn't need to cast that many spells to save you from certain death. playing more spells might save you from certain death then immediately doom you to suicide... it also might summon and buff a bunch of minions, but does that ever seem to happen? especially in this video i see good effects, bad effects, good effects, bad effects, and so on. you summon & buff a bunch of minions then immediately kill them. nothing good seems to stick around very often, and the longer it goes on the higher the chance of fatigue damage. so i suspect there's got to be a statistical sweet spot with yogg, where the probability of a net positive effect is highest. there's also got to be a sweet spot with respect to how many cards are still in your deck... so the total sweet spot would mean the closest you can get to the 1st sweet spot without reaching a certain probability of fatigue damage. you might be able to take hero HP into account as well, but the more variables you add the harder it is to compute. idk if that makes sense, but to put it really simply, the only way to determine the ideal way to play yogg is to put every spell into a simulator and have it run a statistical analysis listing all the outcomes of each possible play, given x = 1-60 spells, y = cards remaining in deck, z = 1-30+30 hp/armor. you get enough samples of each possible play and you will end up with the average win rate for each play, the one with the highest win rate would be the ideal game conditions for playing yogg. past a certain point obviously - it's possible that playing yogg the second you get 10 mana is technically the safest route statistically speaking, but it could have such a minor effect with so few spells that you'd want to set a minimum spell count. it's impossible to accurately guess the ideal conditions but i'd imagine somewhere in the realm of 7 spells without brann, as much HP as possible, and as many cards in the deck as possible obviously. so that'd mean trying to cast 7 spells without drawing excessively, thus taking advantage of any effects that generate cards from scratch and add them to the deck or to your hand, and summoning yogg the moment you hit 7. if you can't pull that off and playing yogg becomes risky due to low card count or low HP, at a certain point i think it would become statistically much safer to just leave him in your hand until you think your opponent will have lethal the next turn. as a general rule it must be better to play the riskiest card in the game when you're certain you'll die otherwise than to play it in the middle of the game. but there's bound to be a set of variables for which yogg-saron is not that risky and potentially very rewarding, such that it can be used for something other than a last-resort gamble.
Yeah I've gotten Yogg Saron huge with Brann in play, and ended up milling myself after he would summon minions, play DOOM! twice.
Given the amount of cards that draw spells, double battlecry Yogg with no cards left in the deck is virtually guaranteed to kill you via fatigue (unless it kills your opponent first via direct damage spells).
