Reworking the Bazaar like this to prevent bots is like amputating a leg to fix a broken ankle. It's no longer an issue, sure, but it's so much worse now.
I dont even feel like it fixed the issue, it just made the bazaar screens load faster so the bots can get their mits on everything faster. You could still buy the reagents you needed in the last version of the bazaar, sure it was a pain in the butt sometimes but it was consistent.

Ugh, at this point just make item trading a thing. Yes, the botting problem is really bad, with players just taking all your items. But for crying out loud, half the bazaar's problems would be solved if item trading was a thing.

my old heart was broken seeing this change, but fuctionally it makes things a lot more difficult. it isn't easy to just flip through categories anymore you have to go back to the homepage every time you want to change between gear, housing, cards, and regeants. its inconvient.
bazaar is crappy now... cant even find the card i want because the selection of TC cards is so small... i guess the only thing this update is good for is organization in terms of selling and buying stuff
I used to go there for TCs because im still in act 1 and don't have access to astral magic, and the Monstrous enchant spell in absolutely busted. While I managed to horde like 200 copies of the monstrous TC before the rework, I go through them like NOBODYS business and niw don't have the ability to restock them until I get access to astral magic via the story, when im only towards the beginning/middle of mooshu and still have dragonspire and whatever inbetween is needed to get access to the astral magic schools :/

Why cant they restock all the basic items in the bazaar to 999???? You cant rely on the gamers to do that for you this system is too open for selfishness... there needs to be more flow Or even better yet update the dang stores in the worlds with more useful items/gear especially in the starter shop areas :/
Completely agree, if they updated the shopping district or even the world shops to make it useful for anyone wanting less than crap gear it would go a long way. They need to fix the Bazaar

The bazaar was completely fine and I haven’t heard a single person complain even once about it and I’ve been playing this game for nearly 10 years. This seems like it’s bound to blow up in KingsIsle’s face and I hope they change it back soon.
@ to write it in other words, no one’s really complained about how the bazaar functions. The bot problem is a problem but that should be tackled by fighting the bots, not making the bazaar harder to use.
Bro I remember a long while back you could find a lot of regents, rare tc like elucidate for example, even when they introduced pet jewels. Those reagents where highly sought after but you could refresh until someone sold some and it wasn’t a issue just took patience. I don’t understand why they touched the bazaar atall after soooo long, it’s a staple in the game that they’re slowly killing off and it’s sad ngl . I can’t even harvest my plants and sell the regular pet snacks that you get for good gold anymore, which I used for pet hatching.🤦🏾
I'm going to give this 1 week for KI to fix this, if they seriously don't do anything to fix this issue I'm planning on just quitting the game entirely, as by this point I've already finished questing entirely, however I do buy a lot of things from the bazaar because there's always lots of things to buy, can't speak for everyone else here but I'd advise everyone else to do the same.
the only thing i didn’t like was that when you tried to refresh one of the screens it takes too long now its faster. but now the bazaar bots just take over the whole bazaar. it’s really annoying. I can’t buy shatters or even pierces from the bazaar anymore
Why haven’t they implemented a way to trade more than just TCs? I don’t understand the problem with being able to trade gear and reagents. The only reason people use the bazaar to sell reagents and jewels is because there isn’t a more developed trading mechanic.
I have been gone for over half a year and came back for Selenopolis. Realized I was nearing max gold and went to the Bazaar to buy some empowers before I realized they changed it and came here for answers because nothing was in the Bazaar! How the hell do I get rid of all this gold now if I can't buy empowers?! I can't even sell a lot of stuff because I'm maxed out.

Either work on another pet project since using the pet hatching kiosk is stupidly expensive (easily 80-120k gold a hatch) or mass buying empower tc for hoarding or the large gold pile in Mirage sold by a camel NPC vendor I forget the name of. The large gold pile I think costs 450k gold so it can be used as an actual housing decoration that goes really well with some houses or as just another form of mass gold storage though less efficient since it’s resale value I think is like only 10-20% of what you actually bought it for from the vendor. Still those are some ways to help when you’re a max level wizard or at the max gold cap 👍
@@Coolkc456 Also a last resort is simply buying the most expensive bazaar gear with your excess gold and storing it away in a gear vault (crafted or bought) since those allow you to store 100 items. You could do some research to see what’s the most financially smart choice (maybe buying decks for 8k gold and resell back to bazaar for 4k meaning 50% value even though it’s with lower amounts is probably the better deal than buying a 35k hat and reselling it for 5k) though I haven’t gotten to that point of grossly rich in gold but it would be my last resort to go that route if I’m exhausting every manner of gold storage other than simply making another character and rinse and repeat the processes. You could also take the route of farming Half-Fang for hours and stocking up on 100 cow amulets as the most valuable gear item selling at the bazaar for 8k I think and using that as gold storage too. Hope that helps from an experienced player :)

idk why this company hates trading or helping people at all. you can’t team up with lower levels for drops that you could also use. it’s an mmorpg where you are supposed to team up with people. man this company is so annoying sometimes with the stuff they change. And this doesn’t combat bots because if a bot can spam reload the bazaar no matter how long it takes for something to go in the bazaar, since there’s a computer doing this they get it no matter what most of the time. this just does nothing besides making the player experience worse

KI would say trading will increase the prevalence of kids being scammed. To an extent this is true, and it already happens with "send me emps for a pack", but it always serves as a great learning experience. It is always the trader's fault for consenting to do something through an insecure route. Through my negative experiences trading in other games, I learned a lot about the world. Trading + Free 1st Arc would easily make this game 50% better.
They addressed this argument by saying that they don't want their stance in a kid-friendly game to be that getting scammed is a learning opportunity. Still, I do think in this case the pros outweigh the cons.

They could easily just done the advanced selling and execute that into the game. You can't have nice things nowadays and the bazaar is a trading selling hub. And if the Devs dislike the idea of players helping each other, They lost their ways.
This doesn't even address the bot problem at all. If anything it points more players TOWARDS using a bot so they just don't have to sit there and wait.
I agree the only other thing i would change is the higher stack limit for TCs cause those tank quite hard during deckathlons, just compare the ice section to the other schools with the currently ongoing Fire deckathlon.
I really hope you're just wrong about the gear piece, and not lying about your friend, because one of those is a whole lot crappier to do. Jade Gear has never been sellable to the Bazaar.
Everyone did used to talk about bots buying things but how do we know this is actually true an wasn't just other players sitting there on the refresh button? Hopefully, once the new system has been up and running for a while it will repopulate with stuff. However, I do agree that this seems to be a way to stop people trading. My biggest beef is really with the Crown items: especially from packs when you can end up with duplicate or unwanted items, it feels unfair that there is not a Crown Bazaar.
Completely agree with you regarding the changes in the bizarre. I can’t fathom why they would’ve developed this scenario in the bizarre and believe that it would be better.
It's simple to me why they won't allow you to trade amongst other players with more valuable items and such, cause it's not very profitable for them, think about it, if you were able to trade just about anything to your friends, why have it where you can just buy certain things from the crown shop when you can just ask your friends to get something for free if they don't need it? The cash-shop would literally be useless for most and considering how much people tend to farm you are going to have multiple of the same item, even me, I have mastery amulets in my bank right now (multiple death and fire masteries) and I don't need them at all, and I would love to give them to some buddies of mine at the time these for free or maybe trade it for something else, but again, they just won't, the idea here is to restrict you on features that would be deemed "standard" in most other games, so that you don't have any other choice but to spend real world money. Even another example: "Stiching" why are we paying for a feature that in any other MMO is deemed practically free? There's even an actual name for this feature as well called "Transmog" again, it's just literally to nickel and dime the unsuspecting or players that just "go with the flow" and think that every decision this company makes is a good one and never questions these things.
Things I dislike: 1) having to pick a category when we used to get there instantly 2) Just like the friends list, it's a little uglier now 3) The random delay thing is just a complete disaster for all the reasons Nate states in this video Things I like: 1) We can sell jewels now (little gold boost which is helpful for me as a decorator) 2) The sell more button is WONDERFUL 3) You can now sort and sell items in more ways, which is more convenient for some items (especially for looking for scarce furniture items and not having to stop to feed no auction items to my pet) I'm very happy with the pros, but the random delay still ends up leaving us worse off than we were before
im going to be honest, reagents specifically have been like that for a while now. i dont even check the bazaar sometimes if i need reagents because i know its just going to be vender reagents or literally nothing. that being said, the TC tab definitely shouldnt be empty, thats weird.
i dont shop at the Bazzar any more cuz well all my wizards are max and well now seeing how they killed the man and his customers with a 30 min wait timer thats not looking good for him now. Six days after you posted this video, I began exploring the new bazaar. The same exact reagents that are available to you in the video are the only reagents I can purchase. I would guess that these will be the only reagents available for purchase in the bazaar.... :(
Well. This is upsetting. I never traded but I've been struggling with crafting things because of the difficulty of getting reagents. This. Makes it worse.
I’ve been playing since Celestia. I’ve been here through all of the false paywall moves, all of the bad spell changes, witnessed the buyout. It’s incredible how they still give the game interesting updates while absolutely disrespecting their player base. I’m not sure how much longer I can support KI no matter much I love this game or how nostalgic I am for it. KI just keeps breaking my heart.
What's bad is that the first quest you get from Ogden Peake used to be easy to do because you could buy the pet snacks you needed in the bazaar. I couldn't find them in the bazaar, there were zero pet snacks, so now I had to go actually farm mobs for those snacks. This means you have to grind out mobs to get the rest of the Celestia training point quests! Nobody will do those quests anymore and they will lose three training points! Seriously, KI, why do you hate us? Did we do something evil in a past life to you to make you do this??!? This means people will have to *gasp* FARM for reagents, meaning that it'll be impossible for me to get the rest of my diamonds - I'll have to spend crowns for the Ore packs and transmute them! Goddamn it, KI. You'd better put an update that added in trading between players or else this will never be popular on the consoles. X(
@charlesdickinson6262 lol wanna know another issue? Ice selenopolis spell quest is glitched it doesn't let you enter the area where you need to go. Now if your ice you have to wait a month or more for them to fix this
It’s not “A lot worse” it’s basically unusable the way it stands. I was sniping for rat spin TC to craft it on my life after years and I was missing only 3 cards, now the tc section is basically empty every time I go.
While I do agree that they need to get rid of bots, but I do like the random putting it out on the sales floor. It helps to limit the ability to trade with yourself via a second account. I've been trying to get lucky scene day one. With the removal of bots I'll finally have a equal chance of getting lucky
I heard that this timer doesn't affect equipment sales so you can buy equipment in the bazaar, it's just going to be very hard to make money off the Bazaar now. :(
The bot problem could have been resolved without resorting to redesigning the Bazaar. All spells and reagents should be available from the Bazaar at least at a quantity of one (most expensive price). Therefore no one must wait to acquire any item, but will cost you in gold for that immediate convenience or you can wait until a few are available and save some gold.
No cause what if I accidentally sell something I wanted to keep and I need to buy it back?? Ive done it before, Katzensteins mask is auctionable and it's my main stitch piece
The UI is so confusing to use and doesn't make much sense why they'd change it like this. They need to take a page out of the most successful MMO RPGs like WoW and FFXIV if they want to turn this game around. I also hate how they're stripping class identity away. You don't choose to play a death, for example, to turn around and play Storm 50% of the time. It's overcomplicated and is melding everything together so there are no defined classes.
literally just got back into the game and saw the bazaar change and was like how is this meant to be helpful the UI is overcomplicating a simple system. Its not even the botting to me. I just want to buy stuff and I have to figure out this whole new UI which doesnt appear anywhere else in the game like the old system that was the same as the backpack and such

New players still use it. For gear and what not. It's still great for starting wizards who don't farm for gear.

A better fix to "Combat Bots" is to implement a Reagent, Jewel, or other non gear stuffs into a trading system between players. Boom, problem fixed.

They addressed this argument by saying that they don't want their stance in a kid-friendly game to be that getting scammed is a learning opportunity. Still, I do think in this case the pros outweigh the cons.

They could easily just done the advanced selling and execute that into the game. You can't have nice things nowadays and the bazaar is a trading selling hub. And if the Devs dislike the idea of players helping each other, They lost their ways.
I couldn't even change my deck from level 108 to 110 after trying to buy one. 🤣
This doesn't even address the bot problem at all. If anything it points more players TOWARDS using a bot so they just don't have to sit there and wait.

I agree the only other thing i would change is the higher stack limit for TCs cause those tank quite hard during deckathlons, just compare the ice section to the other schools with the currently ongoing Fire deckathlon.
If Wizards has bots, they need to fix that instead of working around it. Sounds like a bad excuse to me. 😉

Everyone did used to talk about bots buying things but how do we know this is actually true an wasn't just other players sitting there on the refresh button? Hopefully, once the new system has been up and running for a while it will repopulate with stuff. However, I do agree that this seems to be a way to stop people trading. My biggest beef is really with the Crown items: especially from packs when you can end up with duplicate or unwanted items, it feels unfair that there is not a Crown Bazaar.

It's simple to me why they won't allow you to trade amongst other players with more valuable items and such, cause it's not very profitable for them, think about it, if you were able to trade just about anything to your friends, why have it where you can just buy certain things from the crown shop when you can just ask your friends to get something for free if they don't need it? The cash-shop would literally be useless for most and considering how much people tend to farm you are going to have multiple of the same item, even me, I have mastery amulets in my bank right now (multiple death and fire masteries) and I don't need them at all, and I would love to give them to some buddies of mine at the time these for free or maybe trade it for something else, but again, they just won't, the idea here is to restrict you on features that would be deemed "standard" in most other games, so that you don't have any other choice but to spend real world money.
Even another example: "Stiching" why are we paying for a feature that in any other MMO is deemed practically free? There's even an actual name for this feature as well called "Transmog" again, it's just literally to nickel and dime the unsuspecting or players that just "go with the flow" and think that every decision this company makes is a good one and never questions these things.
Things I dislike:
1) having to pick a category when we used to get there instantly
2) Just like the friends list, it's a little uglier now
3) The random delay thing is just a complete disaster for all the reasons Nate states in this video
Things I like:
1) We can sell jewels now (little gold boost which is helpful for me as a decorator)
2) The sell more button is WONDERFUL
3) You can now sort and sell items in more ways, which is more convenient for some items (especially for looking for scarce furniture items and not having to stop to feed no auction items to my pet)
I'm very happy with the pros, but the random delay still ends up leaving us worse off than we were before

im going to be honest, reagents specifically have been like that for a while now. i dont even check the bazaar sometimes if i need reagents because i know its just going to be vender reagents or literally nothing.
that being said, the TC tab definitely shouldnt be empty, thats weird.

i dont shop at the Bazzar any more cuz well all my wizards are max and well now seeing how they killed the man and his customers with a 30 min wait timer thats not looking good for him now. If they rlly want to keep that time thingy for him reduce it to idk 5 or less mins? idk spit balling ideas for that or they could just go back to old Bazzar keep new UI look tho
Honestly there should be a better trading system in place till this day and Bazaar overhaul has been needed IMO.

Six days after you posted this video, I began exploring the new bazaar. The same exact reagents that are available to you in the video are the only reagents I can purchase. I would guess that these will be the only reagents available for purchase in the bazaar.... :(

I’ve been playing since Celestia. I’ve been here through all of the false paywall moves, all of the bad spell changes, witnessed the buyout. It’s incredible how they still give the game interesting updates while absolutely disrespecting their player base. I’m not sure how much longer I can support KI no matter much I love this game or how nostalgic I am for it. KI just keeps breaking my heart.
I think item trading between players is just something they need to accept players want
What's bad is that the first quest you get from Ogden Peake used to be easy to do because you could buy the pet snacks you needed in the bazaar. I couldn't find them in the bazaar, there were zero pet snacks, so now I had to go actually farm mobs for those snacks. This means you have to grind out mobs to get the rest of the Celestia training point quests! Nobody will do those quests anymore and they will lose three training points! Seriously, KI, why do you hate us? Did we do something evil in a past life to you to make you do this??!?
This means people will have to *gasp* FARM for reagents, meaning that it'll be impossible for me to get the rest of my diamonds - I'll have to spend crowns for the Ore packs and transmute them! Goddamn it, KI. You'd better put an update that added in trading between players or else this will never be popular on the consoles. X(

It’s not “A lot worse” it’s basically unusable the way it stands. I was sniping for rat spin TC to craft it on my life after years and I was missing only 3 cards, now the tc section is basically empty every time I go.
They don't want people trading because it is marketed to kids and they don't want people scamming kids from rarer items
Although that is a valid reason to mediate trade in some way, it is not a good one to flat out not have it and make the shop for gear worse to use.
But it's good idea for kids to gamble on lore packs seems like KI reasons are stupid, I don't care what any one has to say

The obvious solution to this issue is just to allow buy orders that get preference over manual bazaar engagement.

While I do agree that they need to get rid of bots, but I do like the random putting it out on the sales floor. It helps to limit the ability to trade with yourself via a second account.

I heard that this timer doesn't affect equipment sales so you can buy equipment in the bazaar, it's just going to be very hard to make money off the Bazaar now. :(
KI try not to ruin the game challenge (impossible)
The bot problem could have been resolved without resorting to redesigning the Bazaar.
All spells and reagents should be available from the Bazaar at least at a quantity of one (most expensive price).
Therefore no one must wait to acquire any item, but will cost you in gold for that immediate convenience or you can wait until a few are available and save some gold.
No cause what if I accidentally sell something I wanted to keep and I need to buy it back?? Ive done it before, Katzensteins mask is auctionable and it's my main stitch piece
The UI is so confusing to use and doesn't make much sense why they'd change it like this. They need to take a page out of the most successful MMO RPGs like WoW and FFXIV if they want to turn this game around. I also hate how they're stripping class identity away. You don't choose to play a death, for example, to turn around and play Storm 50% of the time. It's overcomplicated and is melding everything together so there are no defined classes.

literally just got back into the game and saw the bazaar change and was like how is this meant to be helpful the UI is overcomplicating a simple system. Its not even the botting to me. I just want to buy stuff and I have to figure out this whole new UI which doesnt appear anywhere else in the game like the old system that was the same as the backpack and such
