I feel like this video was a message straight from Him to me. I struggle with anxiety and with being okay with something not being perfect, and trying to be a superhuman so I'm glad I saw this video.
Amen, same darn problem. And he goes right to my boi Chesterton, whose giggling childish profundity gives me hope like nothing else. Thanks, Bobby. Thanks!
Lisa, I'm in the same situation that you're in. The anxiety and perfectionism is overwhelming. This video is interesting but I still don't know what to do to overcome these. Any ideas from anyone?
After over 30 years in my trade. Everyone expects perfection. Who would hire me if it didn’t seem that way. I am far from perfect but if I did it badly my family wouldn’t eat. I do my best and that’s what I expect from my workers. The teachers in school as well. I can tell you that there is no room for pride and humility. For everything I do comes from God and is for God. Without him I am nothing.
Today was the third day at my summerjob in a hospital and I just feel clumsy and helpless and less good than the other workers all the time. Additionally I just got a note that I didn't pass the admission test for medical school, which makes me feel even more dumb, and like I don't belong into the hospital. My friends both passed the test, which doesn't make it much better. Wanting to be perfect is so exhausting... I'm done. I really need to learn how to fail and be humble and happy throughout. A big fat thanks from Austria, this is so good! :) God bless
I am so grateful for this message. Perfectionism is probably one of my greatest struggles at the moment and I think it’s nice to know that messing up can be okay.
Amén! Thank's Bobby, I literally really needed this right now. I have OCD and struggle A'LOT with perfectionism. This was really helpful. Thank's and God bless!😁 Greetings from Puerto Rico!🇵🇷
Amen. I know it doesn’t sound popular to say, but good enough is good enough. Get the job done and move on. Mother Angelica used to say... don’t let your desire to be perfect keep you from doing something good.
Wonderful messages 🙌 Our Lord Jesus calling us not to be perfect or success but to be faithful and be salt and light for whole the world with humble and grateful heart. May God have Mercy on us and world. Amen. Greeting from Indonesia 🇮🇩💓🇮🇩
Thanks for this video. This is a difficult topic for me. As someone who is a perfectionist and an overthinker, even the speech of church about leaving the world and becoming a saint, comparing ourselves to saints who spent half of their days praying and the other half doing charity makes me really scared to be failing God. It's a daily struggle to understand that God doesn't ask everyone the same thing.
Thank you brother our Spirit is made perfect forever ( 1 Corinthians 6 v 17 ) even though our flesh constantly fails us .just as we watch our children grow through trials and errors, so too the Lord does such too, although we are given the fruits and gifts of the Spirit to guide us and help us work out our salvation in Christ Jesus .Hebrews 10 v 16 & 17 16“This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My Laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.” 17Then He adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Rest in the Lords yoke and be aware of his supply John 7 v 38 38Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’” The fruits and gifts ( living waters ) are very real and transpire daily , a constant supply making every failure of our flesh a learned experience , and repentance (strongs 3341 ) a fresh revelation of our Lord Jesus , just like Thomas had in John 20 v 28 . repentance is how we see Him and not ourselves what we’ve done or not done it’s about Christ Jesus what he has done look to him and trust and live.
Thank you SO much for this. I related to it on so many levels and it was a reminder that God is ultimately in control and I just have to do my best. How humbling and comforting! Love everyone at Ascension Presents, God bless you ❤️
Oh no you didn't! I was just thinking about this in regards to my communication with others. Taking a risk and putting my pride and self on the burner. Yikes!
I came here for the Dad joke but there wasn't one. So disappointed. Just kidding! I do love the Dad jokes though. I am so glad you posted this. What a great message and great timing in my life. Thank you for all you do! God bless! 🙏
Well, i still think maybe you shouldnt try to be a surgeon ( or maybe not even a dentist) , if you are not sure you know how to do the things right 😅...there could be quite hard or even quite imposibile for someone else to fix what you did not good enough or even for the victim to live with it... ( I went once for example to a dentist that I found available close to my work on a late hour and I asked him - as I noticed he mooved very fast- to be careful not to omit to clean and seal an eventual third root canal , and he said it was impossible ; one year later I developed gangrene bc of a "skipped" canal, and another dr had to struggle hard to clean it - not to mention my pain, to save my molar. That wont be such a big problem ( except for the extra cost I had to pay), but now I am quite reluctant to go to the nearest dentist even for minor issues, bc I am afraid to not cause even more damage, while the "good" one , is too far and hard to get, so the minor issues have many chances to wait untill get serious enough 😅 What I want to say is that in some places, doing things wrong ( not good enough), can be really harmfull for other People ( while i am accused even at home for not doing things perfect and causing discomfort to my family 😕 )
Jesus shoots down any notion of meritorious works: “when you do all things commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done’” (Lk. 17:10). The Bible says that no one is righteous, and that we can do nothing apart from Christ. Salvation from sin is entirely a gift. It is a fatal mistake to consider works as being meritorious. Paul pities his fellow Jews who were trusting in their own righteousness: “For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness for everyone who believes” (Rom. 10:3-4).
Is the King James Bible ok to read? Someone on reddit said it’s heretical and incomplete, but it’s the only paperback i have and a douay rheims costs too much. But i don’t want to read an incomplete or wrong bible
Australia Isn’t reAl I would like to know this, as well. My grandma gave me a copy of the King James Bible before she died, so now I feel like it would be weird not to read it haha. Also, I agree. Australia does not exist and neither does Wyoming.
Spooks That refers to sin. Not your everyday skill sets. I don't Jesus meant we should be perfect cooks, plumbers,or painters. But try to be perfect with God and each other.

Must have great humility. That’s where others being critical comes in. Keeps me grounded and God allows it. It’s all G

I'm a recent convert and just served at Mass (TLM) for the first time at 31 years old. It wasn't perfect, but it was worth it!

This video wasn't perfect but it was pretty close😏
Good comment Gwendolyn O. Im proud of you 😎 👍
I learned a long time ago that I wasn't perfect. The insane part is I kept trying to be.
How I understand you !
This video about avoiding perfectionism, ironically, came at the perfect time.
Godincidence?
As a family member told me, "It's not coincidence. It's Providence." 👍

What’s with the skull in the background?
dee elliott A reminder that we’re all going to die. “...to dust you shall return”

The Bible says that no one is righteous, and that we can do nothing apart from Christ. Salvation from sin is entirely a gift. It is a fatal mistake to consider works as being meritorious. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness for everyone who believes” (Rom. 10:3-4).
The problem is failure (mortal sin) leads to eternal damnation. So advising against it is just a cope.
Thank you Bobby ! Great video 👌🏻

Wow!
I did not know that...

Parent, .there is no perfection 😂😂😂
John Paul....who?
I thought we were supposed to try and be perfect like Jesus was?
spooks _ ya! But not to the point where you don’t even try it because you know/feel/fear it won’t be perfect.
Spooks
That refers to sin.
Not your everyday skill sets.
I don't Jesus meant we should be perfect cooks, plumbers,or painters. But try to be perfect with God and each other.

Someone obviously commented without watching the video 😱
Yyy is the skeleton face ther
He must be a Virgo. They are VERY critical about perfection.
Virgo, you mean like the horoscope?
Are we really talking about horoscopes on a Catholic RUclips channel? 😂
