Young reporter there, probably frightened of getting wet. Like the guy says " Go up stairs, it will be gone in the morning, it's a flood" It's what life experience gives us; perspective.
I live in this area, we're not even slightly bothered, it is an annual occurrence. I only came to see what I was missing, as I was informed by a friend that we were all over the news in England. I am missing nothing, it is typical autumn weather.
They want us to be scared, because fear sells news. Keeping people perpetually afraid by spoonfeeding them sensationalist news keeps them under control of the media. The reporter could have swung it the other way and kept an upbeat manner on how people are preparing against the flooding, true grit, had a laugh and keep the morale up etc. but that's not what the editorial staff want. They want useless news that keeps people terrified so the media can control the narrative with 'unfolding drama' and 'shocking stories'.

Notice to City Council's...Get the drains cleaned regularly so the extra water from rain can flow away. Year's of clogged up drains has caused so much problems....restricting water flow !!

Yet we still need to implement hosepipe bans when we get a bit of warm weather. I think the UK will never have problems replenishing it's water supply. It rains roughly 300 days a year most probably over here.

Why was the casualty anywhere near the Water of Lee? This is the watercourse which discharges into Loch Lee and becomes the North Esk. Nobody lives up there so she must have been a walker or maybe rescuing sheep?
It's been raining in Scotland since long before the invading Roman's were turned away due to the weather. I think the residents have gotten used to dealing with rain and wind by now. If anything, we should be turning to the hardy Scots for advice on how to cope when the media comes up with another new colour on their weather chart for 'apocalypse'.
Wow remembered me the 80s we had such extreme weather..then things improved since the 90s it seems like a weather cycle in action..but still less than it used to be even back in the 60s the weather was extreme not to mention in the early early century according to those old stories ...

We got tail end early hrs this morning and it's not stopped raining and in in northwest. Hubby was working offshore at montrose and got evacuated couple days ago, but the few lads that are left out there said they were getting absolutely battered, and the waves are huge. Really hope everyone stays safe
