    Young reporter there, probably frightened of getting wet. Like the guy says " Go up stairs, it will be gone in the morning, it's a flood"

      I live in this area, we're not even slightly bothered, it is an annual occurrence. I only came to see what I was missing, as I was informed by a friend that we were all over the news in England.
      I am missing nothing, it is typical autumn weather.

      They want us to be scared, because fear sells news. Keeping people perpetually afraid by spoonfeeding them sensationalist news keeps them under control of the media.
      The reporter could have swung it the other way and kept an upbeat manner on how people are preparing against the flooding, true grit, had a laugh and keep the morale up etc. but that's not what the editorial staff want. They want useless news that keeps people terrified so the media can control the narrative with 'unfolding drama' and 'shocking stories'.

      @@anthonyhiggins7409 It is typical Autumn weather. I live in this area. I don't understand what all the noise is about on the news. It happens every year and not a peep of it gets mentioned on UK national news reports.
      That is why we used to laugh and the mass reporting of "Snow" in London, with bare roads and a 1mm thick covering on the pavements.

    Notice to City Council's...Get the drains cleaned regularly so the extra water from rain can flow away.
    Year's of clogged up drains has caused so much problems....restricting water flow !!

    Feel sorry for the family of the person who died , but this is nothing new .

    North Yorks here; had a spell of rain in the morning, bit breezy but the brolly coped admirably, followed by a dry and warm afternoon and evening. Quite mild this morning, I'm going to have a walk on the moors. If we're going to call every appearance of rain in the UK a storm we'll run out of names by mid November.

    Yet we still need to implement hosepipe bans when we get a bit of warm weather. I think the UK will never have problems replenishing it's water supply. It rains roughly 300 days a year most probably over here.

      @andrewharper1609 yea I'm in the northwest of England,had to abandon my car on a back lane today because I've flooded the engine thinking I could get through a massive puddle that suddenly got deep. So I'm kind of all for a hosepipe ban at the moment as I'm angry at water at this moment in time. Car is fucked.

    Why was the casualty anywhere near the Water of Lee? This is the watercourse which discharges into Loch Lee and becomes the North Esk. Nobody lives up there so she must have been a walker or maybe rescuing sheep?

    It's been raining in Scotland since long before the invading Roman's were turned away due to the weather. I think the residents have gotten used to dealing with rain and wind by now.
    If anything, we should be turning to the hardy Scots for advice on how to cope when the media comes up with another new colour on their weather chart for 'apocalypse'.

      I agree ..... weather cycle is true ......people can't dictate the weather .....might be the same for 200 years then 700 years then 200 years .....most lightly a normal phenomenal.....the weather doesn't obey the bbc etc lengths of seasons are man made to a certain extent and aren't divided up In a mathematical way convenient to us humans..... but we should still cut out pollution and take care of the earth of course.....

      The medieval period was warmer.. before cooling down a little.
      1920 to 1945 Greenland glaciers were melting in the same way as in the recent years before freezing again.
      Those 100s of active volcanoes including the under water ones are producing huge toxic gas worse than man made fossil fuels uses...
      Not to mention the huge industries for making green business and making all kinds of green energy items, of all sorts including those huge wind turbines and solar panels.They are actually causing more pollution for making those green things than those drivers out there...

    That storm will be here tomorrow and peek tomorrow night, people are putting sandbags everywhere. I didnt think much of it, but then the storm is beginning now and our table just flew, and its not even gonna peek till tomorrow, thats crazy... Hope everyone is staying safe, and everone in brittain is okay now that it is passing over there. ❤❤

      We got tail end early hrs this morning and it's not stopped raining and in in northwest. Hubby was working offshore at montrose and got evacuated couple days ago, but the few lads that are left out there said they were getting absolutely battered, and the waves are huge. Really hope everyone stays safe
