- TOP 6 Baits for EARLY Fall (Surface, Mid-Depth, Bottom) - These baits are my go-to lures regardless of where I go when fishing in the early fall (September-October). Hey man. I had a question i been experimenting with smaller jigs an when fishing a 3/16 oz to a 5/16 oz jig or swim jig what would be the right pound test to use an would a medium heavy be idea for using smaller jigs.
That is pretty light. I don’t go much under 3/8 ounce with my swim jigs. If I go much lighter I would switch over to spinning setup with lighter line to feel the jig better.

I read a article after you won on a spook on Bull sholes years ago,it said you Saw some fish schooling on top around Buck Creek,even with all the electronics now day's a guy can still do good just watching the water or the bird's.
Still do that to this day. Lots of clues if you just look around
Question? Does color really matter with spooks? Or is it just a matter of black or White?
With a spook, I really only throw variations of white. Bone most of the time, sometimes translucent in clearer water

I'm gonna issue a challenge but its gotta be soon ,before the end of october , I'll out fish ya with a spoon ! Thats what im known for in these parts of florida , everybody looking for live bait , or changing lures every 30 minutes , im gonna be on the bow , trolling motor controlling , and throwing my spoons ..lol
