Actually because most of these are real words, it becomes easier when we know the meaning. Random unmeaningful words will definietely make it harder as in the last "ㅅ" and "ㅆ" challenge. As expected, the 'ㅅ' and 'ㅆ' challenge is the most difficult one, as I got wrong answers the most😭😭
ㅅ and ㅆ are the most difficult for me. The other tense, double consonants, sound to me like 'clipped' voiced consonants distinct from their lax equivalents. This includes ㅉ which, to me, sounds close to 'dz', but not as strong as in English 'lads', 'goods' etc. As for the vowels, ㅜ and ㅗ can sound close, but it may depend on the speaker.
Native Swedish speaker here. Just like many others have commented here, ㅅ and ㅆ are so incredibly difficult to distinguish. After more than a decade of studying and practising Korean, I still can't make the proper ㅆ sound 😅🤣 Every time I think I've got it right, I demonstrate the sound(s) to my wife (who's Korean), and she's always like "um, no, you've got it wrong as usual" 🥲😂
This was hard for me and I've been living in Korea for a couple of years 😭I correctly heard words I already know but struggled with ones I didn't. Need to practice more!!
I love videos like this! It really helps with listening to hear words out of context that I felt like I should know but didn’t recognize right away. I did okay but for me ㄱ is actually really hard to differentiate with ㅋ when ㄱ is at the beginning of a word ㅠㅠ I’ll have to listen a few more times for practice!
I agree with the above comment; knowing the definition of the work is about the only way I can be sure of the different sounds. Otherwise, 🤷♀️ or, seeing the word! lol 감사합니다
Very helpful, thank you. I was surprised how well I did the listening. But ㅅ and ㅆ was hard, I didn't hear a difference. And nornally my biggest problem was ㅈ, ㅊ and ㅉ. But not this time.
Hello. I love talk to me in Korean! I have a question 🙋♀️ I cannot find no more than the 3rd lesson. There is no where else to listen to the workout either. Is there anyway I can have a link to the audio that going to level 1 core grammar textbook and workbook please
I consistently get double consonants right when it is Seungwan speaking, and wrong when it is Kyeongeun 🤔 I wonder if their pronunciation is the same when they are speaking naturally. Overall, I got 9 right, which I think is not bad 😄

i agree completely, i felt like i was cheating since i chose answers based on the fact that i knew the words rather than distinguishing the sound lol

평소에 외국인 학습자가 어떠한 발음에서 혼동이 오는지 궁금했는데, 이 영상을 통해 어느 정도 궁금증이 해소된 것 같습니다. 감사합니다.
