Can someone like me get a job in judging? I do not know enough to say much but did see some stuff and just would love to learn more, bring in a unbiased opinion if possible. Do love the sport and greatly appreciate the converge that allows us to watch. 😁 if not help us understand by providing a video how judging is broken down that would shut a lot of mouths up while also educating us more on this great sport. Peace and Love.

@@formuladrift I know angle, speed, and how close you can get to the wall and driver while also looking clean while doing it. I know that you should not be doing too many adjustments that it should in perfect scenario flow all together. I was not aware of the handbrake before certain points and how using the handbrake too long is the stuff I want to know more about I guess the details. thanks for replying.
@@itsmonday1717 In general, that is right, but definitely there is a lot more nuance that is important. Hand and footbrake are now considered to be tools and not necessarily things use to correct mistakes, though certainly they can be. The cars nowadays are so insane, the driving that is occurring is going to be very counter-intuitive to someone who does not know what a 1000HP car that is sliding can do and how it performs. Without getting into too deep of a rabbit hole, the external appearance of the car; smoothness, snappy transitions, showing control and in tandem not just proximity but duration of proximity are key factors. It's also important to remember that only in Qualifying do we have scores. In tandem, all judging results are based on how well each driver did in the lead and chase, but there is not points value attached to it; just which driver can show they did better over the two runs.

@@SuprSi That's the issue, is you just assume the worst possible thing when there are other videos that have equally, if not more heinous comments and we have NEVER EVER removed a video or curated comments, but here you go anyway (screenshot). I will be happy to accept your apology, but I doubt that is coming because even in the face of irrefutable evidence you will continue to live in a false reality. That's not gaslighting, that's just the truth. The irony is that it is actually you that are truly gaslighting. It's cool though. We have thick skin. If this is the level of discourse you have; false assumptions that can be refuted and the least charitable interpretation of anything we say, the issue is not with us. BTW, we can hide comments or erase them and that is way easier than re-uploading a 236GB file that literally took 24 hours, if what you are saying is true about needing to reset. Had to delete the last one? In case you forgot what is was like, I went through 282 comments on the day after they event and there were 4 positive ones. The rest complaining about the state of competition, why it was even run in this rain and how bad the judging was. FD will just gaslight you by saying it's perfect and to the letter judging though.
Will never say anything is perfect but will dig into the extremely bad criticisms and push on the claims being made. Also, over 1M people watched IRW streams. The vast majority don’t comment. I’m a fan of F1. I never comment a criticism on their pages. I don’t think I’m entitled because I already know how much I don’t know about the details of what the public doesn’t see or know, but I’m in a privileged position to humble myself about that. Most people just go off half-cocked without any really serious thought about what their issue is, why and what’s inconsistent. Rarely ever is a strong, well-reasoned complaint unpacked. It typically goes to the bottom of the barrel with stuff like, “fixed”, “bias”, “crap” or whatever. Not really the epitome of constructive criticism and then they get upset when I ask them to explain themselves. Ironic because that is exactly what they ask of us.

@@Jackm117 You can’t do this for 20 years and play games like that. Makes no business sense and if you ever come to an event, I’d be happy to have you sit in the judging stand and ask them questions and see the process. That belief will go away real quick.
Chelsea is 10000% correct on his argument that reeder braked mad times when not suppose to and he didnt crash then reeder crash to a single brake bullshit Reeder should be penalized the same and lose his round so its a OMT but these judges are ass especially since one is a commentator as well so not fully a judging

Unfortunately, Chelsea's mistake turns out to just be that; a mistake, since it did not have the same effect on Denofa as it had on Reeder, assuming they were even the same mistake. If you don't judge it like that, you are automatically biasing for Denofa in the fact that he is the "better" driver and that is exactly what you all don't want us doing. The way to go here is to say Reeder was the cause of his own mistake. That's the only way you can get a OMT in that situation because then you can judge Denofa spinning as his Incomplete. We are not allowed to judge on things that did not happen only what the attitude of the cars is while on track. Denofa was unfazed by Reeder's mistake, Reeder was not. It caused an incomplete.
We won't tell people off, but we will explain and are happy to answer questions that are charitable in nature.

I’m not confident in the judge calls, This was definitely a disappointment all around and disappointed these conditions were considered good enough for anyone. I would like to learn everything it takes to be a judge so I can be more confident in good/bad calls.
Point out one you did not like and we can walk through it together. We might even agree. Fault for contact is always hard.
