TNP has become a buzzword. What I have found however, is that there is not a bullet-proof solution, not even in proprietary cad programs. The core of the problem is in the principle of parametric modeling. Solutions can only work around it to a certain extend. In my (rather long) experience the best way to avoid a model crash is to always be aware what you are doing, and why you are doing it. There are plenty of tutorials about how to build stable models in Freecad, and this is exactly why I like Freecad so much: it makes you get used to be very precise. Nevertheless, it is always nice to have a more flawless workflow, so thanks for all the great work on this problem.
the only feature missing as far as I can tell in terms of actual design in the new Dev version is the ability to extrude individual faces from a single sketch like in RealThunders branch. Other than that, it's excellent.
I think this feature will also be added, just a matter of time, waiting for it in version 1.0 is not worth it I think. The solution of the topological problem is one of the steps towards it
The main fix is implemented, but there still testing and hardening has to be done. This version is not meant for productive work yet. I think this should be mentioned in this video.
I think we should adopt sound modeling practices and avoid attaching things to faces even with TNP addressed. Apparently not dimensioning sketch points directly to axes might also cause problems. Kudos to all those who have made TNP extinct. Love FreeCAD. Some error messages could be a little more explicit for end users sometimes though even if guys on the dev level know exactly what is meant. Had a case today where the error message implied that the revolution was the issue where it actually meant the sketch being revolved. Fooled me but some kind souls on the forum helped my poor understanding of the issues. Tony
I avoid reference to features on solids where possible, which helps. Unfortunately the topological naming bug also impacts sketches. Even to the point that looking at a sketch and not editing can trigger the bug in some cases.
In the new version of FreeCAD the theme can be selected at program startup, there are at least dark and light themes. In the settings you can always change the colors to the desired one, in the video dark theme with slightly changed colors
That is a great fix for sure (thumbs up), while the TNP (imho) is not yet completely solved... Adding two chamfers to a body and removing the first still breaks the model.
Go to the FreeCAD website, then click download and scroll down to the bottom and there will be a link to the version in development, click it and you will be taken to Github and there you can download the current version for any system
Now FreeCAD is actually acceptable for me, nice!

That's right, you can put the word solution in quotes, but it will apply to any CAD program
As long as it doesn't break my existing models, that's one of 2 major long standing bugs fixed.
Thank god, that issue was so annoying for making certain changes to previous steps

Not eliminated but greatly reduced. There will still be situations where model breakage could occur but they will be less common.
Agree. Like this situation involving chamferruclips.net/video/nL_o3-6u4Qs/видео.htmlsi=MDE18zZuJq9Sz_e8

Awesome !

Nice! By the way, what is this dark theme?

Yes, that's right, it's a known problem, it's being addressed
@@Cadessentials-dn8rz was intended as a hint, not as critics ;-)
Where's the release binary?
Go to the FreeCAD website, then click download and scroll down to the bottom and there will be a link to the version in development, click it and you will be taken to Github and there you can download the current version for any system
@@Cadessentials-dn8rz There is no binaries for python 3.10
@@Cadessentials-dn8rz Nope only version 3.11 python which means it will not run on Windows 7.
@@noanyobiseniss7462 Windows WHAT ?
Cool feature!
