Great discussion! As a university student pursuing a STEM degree, I wholeheartedly agree with both of them on the issue of wokeness. This kind of obsession with political correctness and virtue signaling is toxic to the pursuit of knowledge, truth, and intellectual growth.
I was also delighted to hear Christopher Hitchens' name come up a few times; it was through his work that I was first introduced both Ayaan and Lawrence, so I'm glad to see his legacy being carried on!

Excellent discussion. I love the idea of people interested in freedom of thought and speech in academia starting new universities and recruiting top level professors who are not going to have to bow to the censorship and cancel culture that is choking off discussion, debate and exploration.

Any one who still uses being offended as an argument, hasn't yet left the toddler phase in life.

I absolutely agree with Dr. Lawrence. Academia must be protected from this woke religion.

it looks this channel is being shadowbanned, I enter Ayaan Hirsi Ali in the search window on this platform and it shows neither the channel nor any video from it, I wonder why that is.

I don’t think it is, cause a video from this channel came up in my recs and if you search “Ayaan Hirsi Ali podcast” or “Ayaan Hirsi Ali” with the guest’s name afterwards then the channel comes up. I just think the channel needs official verification. I could be wrong.

@@DrunkAtheist perhaps but seems unusual for a person's name not to return his or her channel.

1:14:47 That bit about yacht clubs not allowing Jews in... I think that in several North American cities Jews founded new, better yacht clubs as a result (certainly Toronto and Los Angeles from personal familiarity with clubs). Ah, now I hear at the end that Lawrence is from Toronto :-)

why is it so difficult to get copies of Prey in UK bookshops ? I got my copy from the world's greatest online bookshop -the same applies to my copies of Trans by Helen Joyce and Material Girls by Kathleen Stock by the way -Waterstones do not seem to display any of these and may or may not have copies in their storage room ....

there's a lot of scary possibilities. if a tendency for rationality is itself genetic, what if rationality is no longer selected-for in a world that isn't very dangerous on the day to day level. Also Krauss says that rationality helps you survive but I don't think it's always as helpful as it may seem. There's a rationality to irrational behavior if other people/organisms believe your bluffs, or are attracted to your claims. The very fact that religious people tend to have more children shows it might have a self-defeating tendency.

"actually there is no inequality between men and women. Actually women get more advantage then men lately."
Clearly he only see the male side of reality not the female side.
And thank you to Ayaan for pointing that out to him that inequality between men and women does exist.

Yeah that genetic commponet just I am not great at math, but it is obvious that it exists, but on a very serious level, that it exists May be the best reason to revet this world pre-stonage
