This game is an example of how to pull the plug on a small market of people who wanted a tennis game that were on life support. They tried it. Half assed the creation of it. And then marketed it for $70-$120 when it should have been $20 or less.
Bro I'm so glad you clarified that the Monfils in the video was a character you created. For almost the whole video, I was trying to figure out how an officially licensed game got his likeness so horribly wrong and why he would sign off on that lol.
My biggest disappointment was the fact that Serena and Federer aren't in the career mode. Why have them on the cover if you can only use them in exhibition matches. There should be an option to include legends after getting to a certain level
I’ve been ignoring it too, but it’s just crazy how every little thing I do in the game is all about earning VC. I know they’re all kinda like that these days, but still!
Most courts are unlocked in MyCareer, which you have to be online to play. The only game mode available offline is exhibition, but you can choose any unlocked court there.
I disagree on venues, not enough and no venue creator. Needs player creator for 2K community, needs micro transactions removed, and needs to stop forcing online for everything. Gameplay is good.
Lack of players is disappointing too dude. No Nadal and Jokovic is shocking. You used to get more players in Smash Court Tennis and Virtua Tennis games back on the PS2 and Xbox 360. And always online is totally unnecessary.
@@clinthufkie3242I don’t know about topspin 4 but its pretty barebones with few activities and has little of the depth or presentation you would see in other AAA sports titles. Parts of it could be improved in future updates, if 2K chooses to.
@@obscuristgaming monfils hits or use to hit a one handed slice backhand alot didnt he ... he would slide on clay and reach for a slice... its crazy too think he can jump like 5 feet in the air but cant beat like fat overwieght players his serve is just too weak!
Yes, but there is no such thing as a two handed slice, if that’s what you’re asking! But yeah, he would often try to extend points using slices and his speed/court coverage. And yeah, unfortunately he never quite got over the hump, even when he was sniffing around the top 10 back in the day.
I really like the venues too, but the game unfortunately is bare bones beyond that in a lot of ways. If they make some gameplay tweaks and add way more actual content to the experience, there’s hope!
I really don't like the training mode. The goals to reach a new level just doesn't suit my playstyle at all. I even have target training drills where I HAVE hit the target, but the points don't register.
I like the game but it's ridiculously unbalanced. Serena and Sharapova blow everyone off the court. And everyone just maxed out their created players power and beat you on just being overpowered rather than outsmarting. Would've rather them just reskinned topspin 4 than this.
As someone starved for a new tennis game, I like it more than most. But it’s shallow, and the online power meta is gamebreaking for a lot of people. Hopefully this can be adjusted in “season 2”
dude just the fact that you need an internet connection to play this and the steep price point turns me away from it it should be free to play it looks like a free to play game not paying for this crap

I wonder if they’ll go the WWE route and make it yearly with minor updates, or not invest anything more into it and call it an L.

Lol. Some of them do look pretty bad though to be fair

That’s a good point- at least make it an option to include them or not.
Virtual currency is a cancer to gaming and the lack of players and official trophies is just stupid. Always online is just ridiculous too.
Thanks for saving me the money. I'll wait for future iterations to improve and come out
I’m hoping they build off of this and address some of the issues, but I don’t know if it sold well enough for them to make another one.
That's the worst Pete Sampras likeness I've ever seen.
Lol about 1/3rd of them are laughable.

Does someone know why the tennis court at the shanghai open is blue instead of purple? As they told they had the rights of all masters
I did the Same created Eugenie Bouchard, Anna Kournikova, and Gabriella Sabatini. The Pretty Three I call em.
Rarely buy anything from 2k due to micro transactions. Did buy this and will ignore them.. haven't tried it yet.

If 48 venues isn’t enough, how many would you want? Agree with everything else though! And I would love a stadium creator.

Good review, agree that it has solid gameplay but a disappointing career mode.
What makes it disappointing in comparison to topspin 4? I'm about to hit buy, but the always online thing for career mode is red flag for me.

@sebastian577 this game will be dead in few months what a wasted chance
@@sebastian577 have you tried Tennis Elbow 4?
Uh, I noticed that you didn’t mention “hard” difficult being a challenge lol. Me and my level 8 character beg to differ lol
It might be! I just threw it on Very Hard from the start, and it seemed to be a good balance. Lose some/win some kinda thing.
@@obscuristgaming congrats to you my man. I’m struggling on Hard lol.
You got Monfils sporting a single hander backhand?
Already switched it after making this lol! I originally was making myself, but then decided to make Monfils and forgot to change the animation.

It’s not possible at the moment. It’s supposed to be added some time later this month.
