    Big thanks! This helped me to disassemble my NW-A55 to fix my faulty audio output. Surprised how easy was it to do so!

    The A55 has one fewer screws. The control board from the Sony battery must be used. Do not cut the battery wires. Instead open the top of the Sony battery and separate the board from the two tabs coming out of the cell itself. Remove control board from the donor battery and throw its control board into the trash. I needed a jumper as the leads coming from the battery did not line up with the Sony control board. The Chinese replacement battery is preferable as it is slightly thinner. The Garmin brand name one might fit but I did not try it. The ribbon cable to the antenna is thin and fragile and that must be dealt with before the battery.

    Thanks. You just just made my purchase decision for me. After destroying my first iPod trying to replace the battery, my second iPod - the Classic - has needed a new battery for some time now but I'm not going to destroy it. I thought the Sony NW-A45 would be the "the one", but nope. Same battery crap. I guess they just expect you to throw the player in the garbage after 2 or 3 years and buy a new one - if there even is a new one available at that time. So I'll just keep using my iPod Classic with an external power source and be waiting for someone to do this right - with a replaceable battery that you don't have to tear the thing apart down to the bones to replace. What a pant load. You'd think they'd effin get it by now.

      btw Sony, if an easily replaceable battery means you have to make the unit a little larger - WE DON'T CARE. The things too damned small to begin with. JUST DO IT. WE DON'T CARE. We just want this done properly. That's all.

      This is nonsense, I have been using my Walkman S-series for over a decade now and the small Li-ion battery inside still holds strong. In fact I have not noticed any significant decrease in battery time.

      I'm 2 years late but there's a player called the Zishan DSD which is a hi-fi player that is designed to be serviceable

      Sony makes money charging people to put in new batteries.

    The battery on these units outlast the player so I don't see any reason to worry about. I still have my old NWZ-X1060 which is over 9 years old and the battery still holds strong.

    I have a nw-a35 with broken wm-port. My future plan is to buy a adafruit micro charger and replacement battery drill the rear plate and attach the battery in Parralel to the existing. Unsolder the plug on the adafruit and replace with 2 wires soldered direct to the battery cables. Then add a plate of wood or plastic with sections filled down and glue or double sided tape the plate to the rear thereby holding the battery and charger in place this will double the run time and allow you to charge via USB but it will make the unit thicker

      Another way to replace the port would be to buy a budget broken used Sony on ebay and swap the port but I'm not sure if it will be the same port

    The common Garmin gps battery, 361-00066-00 appears dimensionally correct. The Garmin measures 2.50 x 1.650 x .2 while the Chinese replacement is 2.460 x 1.655 x .19 Both measured from the ones on my desk. Anybody with more talent than I care to take a crack at it?

    Hello all,
    I have had a NW-A35 for about 2.5 years now, bought new. A few days ago it seems to have died after the battery had emptied. There is no reaction to touch or any other button, appart from the red light of charging signal that still is on when I branch the player to a charging source. I am rather surprised as think it is a really good player and especially since my last sony player lasted for about 10 years and it is still working properly. Has this same issues happened to anyone? Is it possible the battery is already dead? I never use bluetooth neither most of the battery consuming options, so I would honestly be surprised. Appreciate all the tips, thank you

    could you tell me how many mah does it has this mp3?i think around 500-750 mah, sony dont tell these information, i dont understand why, thanks,

    • @Tigermania
      @Tigermania 3 года назад

      Sony uses 1,500 mAh battery as shown here (www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B07Q2VFNZT?tag=dlife0001-22&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) in the product description scroll 2/3 down. The Milliamp Hours (mAh) is how much charge the battery can store. Higher is better but you could use a 800 mAh but it will need charging more often.

    The great battery scam,Just because you can take the battery out and get another doesn't mean the device will work properly with the new battery.This is why i stick with a cd player and a good quality lithium disposable battery so that it doesn't corrode anything.

      @@NinoJoel Availability of a good quality battery is typically the problem.Notice many comments saying mp3battery.net is closed.Places that do offer them are usually not OEM and the device doesn't function properly or perform very well after battery replacement.

      @David Chatterton well i have a NWA 45 that was bought when it released in the EU sometime around 2017.
      Sounds fantastic with high quality headphones.
      I bought the in ear sony xban3ap for around 350€ /390 $.
      I don't have any trouble at all.
      The battery still lasts for around 12 hours while I visited the US a couple of weeks ago.

      @@NinoJoel It's curious that my older A-17 battery lasts for more than 25 hours working continuously, but my new A-35 lasts a mere 8 hours.

    • @NinoJoel
      @NinoJoel 4 года назад

      @@albertocabezas282 Thats unusual.
      Have you turned of NFC and Bluetooth ?
      Furthermore the NWA 35 and 45 has an option to only charge the battery to a set capacity.
      If you accidentaly set this option to something like 20% it will only change the battery to 20% and then stop.
      It still shows 100% charged while this setting is on.
