Incase you are new to the channel. We are Lou & Sylw 👍
Earlier this year we bought and self-converted a Citroen Relay to travel around the UK & Europe full-time with our 3 dogs (Rocks, Bella & Lola). 🚐🐶
Our plan is to make a short film in every country we visit. After travelling through the UK and into Europe. We are now in Slovakia 🇸🇰
Before I give you a little explanation of this video, I just wanted to apologise for messing up the sound. The feedback has been much appreciated. I will no longer use lyrics over our talking clips and soundbites.
Anyway!
We have to be honest, other than sharing the Tatra Mountain's with Poland. We knew absolutely nothing about Slovakia. But it has turned out to be one of the best countries we have ever visited. The landscape was just out of this world and we were able to take our dogs around the mountain's, unlike in Poland, where they are not permitted in National Parks.
In this short film we travel from Poland into Slovakia. We visited the world renowned Strebske Pleso. The beautiful Zelene Pleso and the most unique landscape we have ever visited at the Sulov Rocks. The weather was often cloudy or misty but for us that only added to its beauty!

Fairy tale landscape. Thoroughly deserving of the word awesome x 3. Sylw is the veritable light & soul. You'd need your brown trousers & bicycle clips on a hike with her. She would make a good secret agent.
I would say so 😅 We didn't know what to expect from Slovakia but it turned out to be awesome. Really enjoyed it. We were gutted to leave before the snow kicked in but onwards and upwards. Croatia next 👍

My heart races for the last 20 mins of the walk 😅 The fox was awesome wasnt he? As was the big dog Frank. We got sidelined and forgot to film the surroundings of the main lake 🤣 Sylw is very witty tbf. I think I have taught her well over the years 🤣 Oh and Lola was definitley protecting me. Before the travels she was 100% for Sylw, now she loves me more 🤣🤣🤣👍

Just watched Slovakia, you are living my dream. I must recommend you visit the Midi Pyrenees/ Roquefort/ Milau/etc. Plenty of rivers to Kayak and stunning Limestone gorges, absolute joy to watch your videos.

Another fantastic video guy’s! That frozen ice path at the start 😱 love the fact that you’re showing us all of these countries in winter which you wouldn’t normally see, and filming them so spectacular well! Plus the fact you have taken the dogs with you ,that means I’m in 😊 but please please please don’t take any chances on the hills, the shot will be every bit as good whether you guy’s are in it or not. Thank you John. It just came out of nowhere. 1 minute it was gorgeous sunshine and then everything was frozen 😅 As I am sure you can tell by now. We love our dogs very much. We definiltey need to film them more. But everytime we put the camera near them they just sulk and look abused, especially the staff! 🤣 He has always hated his picture taken aswell for some reason 😅 Your right about the cliff edges. My heart goes everytime. Sylw only wants me close so she can attempt to push me over! Thank you for watching. Another coming Sunday 👍❤

Many years ago, my (Slovak) wife and I spent a New Year’s Eve at Strbske Pleso. Beautiful place. They do a lot of ski jumping there. Great memories! Great film guys

Another corking video, the Slovakia trip nearly turned into the Slovakia slip early on. The drone footage of the driving was the best drone footage of driving I’ve ever seen. Think the tradition of the shot before the climb needs to become a permanent fixture. Hope you both doing well, looking forward to the next video. X

Slovakia looked amazing and such ha shame you can't stay `and see more. Take care and enjoy Croatia which I'm just going to watch. Can't wait for Friday and off we go for our next adventure weekend.
Yeah we had a couple of extra stops to make. One being the capital, Bratislava. We will definitley make our way through on the way to Austia and Germany later on in the year. Have another great weekend away. Look forward to seeing some pictures of your trip away on Instagram! 👍
The last part - top of the rocks in Sulov is actually Sulov Castle - the ruins. You can see ruins of walls behind you. You can visit around 200 castles in Slovakia - some of the renovated, some preserved, some in ruins. Many of them can be visible from roads.
Thank you Milan. Slovakia is such a beautiful country. We really enjoyed it there. I still have Sulov Rocks as the top three places we have visited so far. I just loved it up there. Eveything about it was magnificent! 😍👍

Just found your travels, starting from Scotland and through to Slovakia. I’m lost for words at the amazing beautiful scenery and the way you are capturing your enjoyment of the time your having. Good luck guys and enjoy while you are young and able. Love the lilt on Sylw’s pronouncing of words, Polish with a hint of something northern which I can’t put my finger on. Is it Liverpudlian? Thank you Michael. That is very kind of you to say. Sylw moved to Harrogate in Yorkshire around 15 years ago but now resides in Blackpool in Lancashire not to far from Liverpool. So perhaps the twang is a mixture of Yorkshire and Lancashire 😅👍

Wow, thank you so much. What a lovely comment to read. We really appreciate it. We had 300 subscribers and then the Scotland Video seemed to kick on and now we are being watched. We are only a few videos in and not perfect. But with people sharing honest comments with us, like 'Music is too loud when talking' etc. We can change that and hopefully make videos to inspire people to get out into the great outdoors!
Ps. We actually think living in the van is the worst part of the travels tbh 🤣 As you can imagine with 3 dogs and a messy Sylw. Its not easy not to have a benny.

The music/talking levels are something we struggled with initially too. Editing with quality headphones and then listening to it on a phone/tablet really showed us how we needed to be careful with our volumes. It’s all learning though and we enjoy the process.
We’re not as comfortable in front of camera as you guys and don’t get away nearly as much as we would like to but again, that will hopefully come with time for us.
Having all the dogs with you guys was the first thing that made us think ‘wow, that’s tough!’ Like you say, living is a van is very tough, let alone with dogs, messy Sylw (🤣), vlogging it and editing it to such a high standard! You deserve all the success you are getting and what is to come if you continue to do what you’re doing with continuous improvements.

But yeah, the dogs have been amazing to be honest. I am not going to lie, but generally, they are all very naughty little buggers who get away with murder. But they have all adapted really well, especially the Collie. She has definitely come into her own! 'Vanlife' is far from glamorous. Sylw might have had a few midlife crisis, for being dragged away from the home and job she loved to follow me around Europe in a tin box 😅

Honestly, I have turned into a nervous wreck around her 🤣. Would have been nice to finish the trip but like you said we will return and see Bratislava when we head to Czech Republic at some point next year.
We try to take them all with us where we can. But if its a heavy trek then Rocko (Staff) stays in the van and one of the others will keep him company. I like to take Lola (Collie) everywhere though. If you look carefully on the last drone shot, she is actually up the top with me! 😅👍

It really is. We do wish we could have shown more of the villages and cities etc but it went into lockdown and we didn't want to get stuck. Will have to return next year at some point. All the best for the New Year 👍

Thank you so much. It should be even better now because we have upgraded the drone after losing the last on a Croatian mountain 🤦♂️. Tbh, its been okay travelling through everywhere. Its just annoying having to jig around the countries to not out stay our 90 days welcome 🤷♂️ Croatia will be uploaded today at 6pm UK.

@@Lou_Sylw_Bulgarian_Rescue_Dogs yeah it did get a little high on one vid we watched but kinda guessed was a one off 🙏 The musics cool so all good ( a little thing to experiment with is using non vocal music if your both talking over it, it’s a bit like DJ’ing and the problem when you mix two vocal tracks together) :)
@@zafiracamper Thank you for the tip👍I have added a more none vocal tracks to our next one that I am currently doing now. I use artlist and some artists have a vocal and instrumental versions so I can DJ around but some don't and its difficult to find the right music I suppose. We will get better though. Cant ask for anymore than that! 😅👍

@@zafiracamper I will have a look at that. Artlist is okay. But the website is a little bit buggy. I genuinley think finding music for these videos is the most painful part. Found some good artists that I would actually listen to though 🤷♂️
