They could always have a throwback scene where Raq is babysitting or mentoring Young Monet & then have an older woman in her 60’s or 70’s play Raq at Monet’s funeral.

The only reason I’m leaning toward Raq either being in prison or maybe fresh out after a 20+ year sentence is Kanan is so cold; I don’t see him being sentimental like that letting anyone see a vulnerable side. So I think she’s either still in jail, fresh out, or got some kind of injury or illness and is in a nursing home.
Yo UAN, if I’m not mistaken…when Kanen died in the OG Power, Tariq was told that Kanen had no surviving family members and I believe Tariq told Tommy or someone that as well, which is probably the reason he got the ashes from Kanen being cremated. So that leads me to believe Raq is dead or she was in jail at the time of Kanen’s death, still in jail, or may have been released from jail if she appears in episode 10, or maybe a flashback scene like you mentioned before. The death of Monet will cause Cane to be his own man. Cane could smoke his wife Noma for his first female body. Cane will avenge Monet death by smoking Noma just like when Kanan smoked Jukebox over Tariq.
I believe from the beginning they all connected why is Cane nicknamed that ? There is no way that by chance Tariq met them like that … Monet took a lot of secrets to the grave that Diana didn’t dig up yet..
Maybe Raq helped Monet at some point back in the day , especially once Lorenzo went to prison and maybe as a favor from Def Con cuz Lorenzo helped him in prison… they linked Monet and Raq
yeah true, uncle gabe could work if they doing the flashback approach... but they'd be doing us dirty to flashback through gabe. Also that could probably raise more suspicion that gabe is Marvin, which would spoil the raising kanan story ahead of time.
