The way you reviewed this product was nothing short than impressive. I havent watched any of your videos but I know what to expect :) Keep up your great work. Subbed!
Thanks Alex for your great review. I just bought this camera and I am excited! I got a good deal on it too. It was $42 + $6 shipping. Mine was the 14MP version so that’s probably why it was so little.
CMTech yeah you got the wrong one bro think u got the A66 or A77 which unfortunately shite compared to A80 it’s on offer now at amazon for £56 pound , if you wondered why your videos weren’t as good as his that’s reason why
Actually the first test about the cam that is serious! You know what you're talking about, that is noticeable and you give a lot of nice information, such as CPU and the interpolation info for example. Also not easy to find a video that actually shows the microphone in action. Thanks a lot for the video!
Thanks again man, based on your review I bought this device and I am fully satisfied - especially the Gyroscope is really useful and unique in this price range I think.
I've used this camera the last 2 years for my fishing videos. It is dependable and does the job. However I just bought a YI 4K and did a video comparison side by side and the YI pretty much blows it away in terms of sharpness and resolution settings. The widest setting on the Apeman at 170 degrees is still very narrow for the most part.
Seems much better than a lot of the other cheap 4K action cams you've reviewed! Especially the sound. Well the video is a lot better too! Thanks for sharing
I love your reviews and your pleasant accent makes that even better. Based on your suggestion and YT presentations, I bought several copies of this camera and not only now I can have GoPro like IQ, I have several angles covered, all less than the price tag of one GoPro cam. Must admit, the video IQ of this little one is even better than my dedicated dashcam when I use it alone with it and check the footage. So I am actually thinking of hard wiring and changing my dashcam with one of these. So satisfied with Apeman A models. Thanks man and keep up the great work.
This video was excellent, thank you so much! I have been looking for an action camera within budget and you have found just what I was looking for! Great videos! :)
I checked out so many of your reviews looking for the best quality cameras with gyros for under $100 and settled upon this Apeman a80. Can't wait to get it. It cost me $102 with a 64 micro sd. I also spent $20 bucks for some accessories since I plan to take it to Maui in a month l.
Thanks for this review, My son has misplaced his current sjcam M10 and we wanted another action camera for messing about with and was toying with this one , after this review I've ordered it , it was also on a lightening deal so was about 1/3 off £43 with free delivery . Thanks again and Keep safe everyone
WARNING! I bought this camera after researching many cheap action cameras and I am happy with it and believe I got good value for money, but..... This camera DOES NOT take video at true 60fps or 120fps if anyone needs that. It just duplicates frames to make up the numbers. Aside from this, it is great. Thank you for a good review, it was your review that made me buy this camera and as long as you don't need 60fps I would recommend to anyone.
You're welcome, love your channel and appreciate the information you give, as most reviews I watched for cheap action cameras just believe that they shoot true 4k just because it says it on the box. So thanks for being honest, (or just knowing what you are talking about, not like some others lol) as I made a great choice because of your review. A80 = 9/10
I have two other affordable action cameras coming, the Yi Lite and Yi Discovery... I’m curious too see how good they are. The 2nd one is cheaper than the Apeman A80
This guy is really good at doing reviews I've subscribed to his channel. He speaks better English than some English people. Great review iam going to buy this model.
just a note for anyone looking at this camera right now (since you can get it for $45) the menus are massively different and the gyroscope option is MISSING, i've emailed them asking about this but i am waiting on a repsonse
Great video! I have been reading some stuff about the action camera and was thinking of buying it but now I'm really sure! Very well explained, thank you!
aged quite a bit but now it's on sale for 55€ if anyone cares. great review man also.. would you agree that the cams of 18/19 kind of suck? i saw your top 5 and all of them had drawbacks (bad reviews on amazon, not available etc) the a80 didn't have. so at the end i went for the 55€ deal. cheers
Lmao, stumbled across your review for this while looking up cheap action cams that i can throw on my drift car and not care to much about. Instantly recognized those filming locations. Hope you're still in the area, and I hope you still have this Genesis! I have a 2013 GenCoupe aswell.
It's a nice camera that has worked well on my kayak so far. The only thing I don't like is there is no flashing light or beep to let you know you are recording if the camera is facing you and it's in the case. My basic GoPro always beeps and then flashes a red light to let you know you're recording.
Thank you for a very useful review. I have just ordered this camera and was wondering if I had perhaps made a mistake or not. You have eased my mind considerably. Thanks very much.
Nice. You recommended me this camera in another video of yours as I was looking for an inexpensive camera where the sound is in sync. So this will do nicely. I'll keep it on my short list. Appreciate the review. +1
Hi friend Nice Review. Which one is better for you... Apeman A80 or Eken H9R? Have you reviewed the DBpower Q8 and Excelvan Q8 cameras? Thank you for all
I've watched lots of footage shot from the Apeman and the Eken. In my opinion, the Eken has a slight upper hand. The night footage and underwater footage from the Eken seems to look better to me. That's just purely my opinion.
pretty weird question to ask on this video as it's not related. But I've been looking for a camera similar to The Narrative clip 1 or 2. Something extremely discreet that takes a photo every 30 seconds or so that you can just quit to you and go about your day. Short of these action cams is there anything like that on the market?
Great review! I am planning a x country MC trip this year and want to record video of the trip. I notice that all action cameras don't have a pause feature? What is a free and easy to use video software for editing and splicing all the clips? Thanks in advance - Rennie from Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada
Hello Alex, thanks for the nice explanation. I bought this camera but I still wonder how to download pictures via WiFi: it happens that I only can see taken videos when connected to the phone via WiFi and not pictures, did you notice the problem? Maybe I should update the firmware but no advice anywhere on how to do in the website. And how about the Voice prompts, find out how to use them? Finally, did you notice that activating the gyros it crops? Sounds like a digital gyros correction. Though works just fine. Wonder how it is compared to my old GoPro Hero 2, speaking of image quality, but have the impression that might not be better.
hi brilliant little video i will be purchasing one of these cameras this week for using while i am out mountain biking, a quick question do you attach these cameras to the helmet using the adhesive pads or is there a special helmet attachment i need to purchase....... thanks mate
are they strong enough to keep the camera on top of my helmet though mate when going down trails or should i look at using something else to guarantee staying on my helmet other than adhesive pads... cheers mate
Could be. New phone got yesterday budget Blu R1 plus $109 less about $35 in Amazon points, normally $159. 3GB 32GB, 5.5 HD dual SIM, 3500 MAH 5 and 13 cameras each with flash, image stabilizatiin, but only quad core MTK OK for price, but I prefer 6" screens.
Thanks Alex ,the Ape A77 that I have looks nothing like the video you reviewed on your channel, Its a little grainy, on every setting , no matter what I change , maybe a bad camera, or the wrong SD card ,I used these Sandisk ultra 32 class 10. Thanks so much for your help.🇨🇦
Thank you so much for your review. I am looking at budget cameras to record some videos for youtube and this sounded like a good option. Thank you again for your very helpful review :)
Hi there! I am so glad I found your channel! I have been thinking about purchasing an action camera and I found the Apeman brand to be of good quality and it's in an appropriate price range for me. My question for you is: which would you recommend? The Apeman A77 with a remote control and WiFi or the Apeman A80 with WiFi ? I have done my research on both cameras and I am on the fence... If you could share any of your thoughts that would be great! (:
Good review, very useful. For moving shots, it would be good to know if you are walking, biking or car mounted. Also would like to see a bit faster action like jogging or faster biking. Appreciate the stabilization on and off film.
Great review! I just bought one and want to purchase a micro sd card. In the description it says a class 10 card is recomended. What kind of card should i get? I plan to shoot in 1080 60fps mode most likely.
does this camera support an external mic ? I like the looks and sounds of this one best out of all the ones you've reviewed. thanks ! great vid ( liked)
no, it doesn't support an external microphone. There is another one that sounds fantastic and it also supports an external microphone. It's called the Firefly 8SE and you can find it's review on my channel
Hi Alex. Sorry to bother you once more. After reviewing all your action cam videos, I have one more important question for you, since you had a variety of them in your hand. Do the batteries of the Campark, Apeman, Firefly etc fit each other. They appear to look all alike on pictures and seen to have the connections in the same place on the battery. Any info would be appreciated.
Hi, thanks for another great review. Would you be able to give me some advice? I don't know which one would be better for video vlogging: Apeman A80 or SooCoo C30?
Wonderful review! Would you consider this the best overall action camera for $80 or less? I am comparing this to the Akaso EK7000, the DBPower 4k, the Campark ACT74 or ACT76 and the Fitfort 4k. The Apeman is the most expensive of this group but also the only one with image stabilization so, for a casual user, is it a better buy than the others?
my a80 dash camera power button is a bite different from yours? i got it at amazon around $40 with tax? i want to buy the thing that hold the camera? so i dont need to hold my hands?
Very thorough, all explained clearly and some great samples and demonstrations. Have subbed. :) On this camera, I stumbled across it on Amazon as my brother was looking for a cheaper alternative to a GoPro for his motorbike sessions and think it'd be great. I am also considering this for some of my own RUclips recording and a dictaphone that I have that I think is compatible with an external mic. However, any suggestions for good action cams that are external Mic compatible (GoPro or otherwise)? Or would a purpose built camera (i.e. non-action camera) be a better choice for my intended use if within budget? Many thanks!
Awesome thanks for the reply. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews and big differences in footage looking at all these test vids from others. Only a few are clear like yours, the rest are choppy and low quality like 240p lol.
my husband is a mountain biker and I thought of buying him an action camera but I'm confused whether to get the Apeman A80 or the Thieye t5e since the apeman has more accessories to be mounted on bikes and so on but the Thieye records real 4K, have you noticed that big difference of video recording between both ? which one would you personally prefer ? I really like your reviews , Thank you for the effort!
+Marwa Younis if you want to save some $ the Apeman is a good choice, if you want better quality you will want the Thieye t5e but you will need to get extra accessories
Hi i have 1 of these a80 cameras and no matter what angle I record on the videos all look the same 70 degrees of recording looks exactly same as 170 of degrees?
Can anyone help me? I have this camera and I press record and after around 3 minutes the camera automatically stops recording and when I plug the camera into my PC to check the files there is nothing. I have a 64GB micro SD and the battery life is fully charged so I have no idea why its doing this? PLEASE HELP!
The Apeman a80 has a novatek 96669 chip and a sony imx206 16mp sensor. The 9660 chip can output at best 2k 24frame video. Also a major factor is the bits per second in the recorded data stream. Bps are quite low for the interpolated 4k video and it is no better than the 1080p. 1080 60p seems to be the best video setting although it is really 30p. The 1080p quality is reasonably good and the image stabilization helps a lot to remove much of the shake. I like this camera and use it for underwater and action shots. All these cheap action cams have fake specs so its hard to know what you are getting.
Thanks for the hard work with the camera reviews! I need to record music videos with something like that, does this support external aux-in or external microphone input? :)
it's been a while since i had this....but i think you can zoom....hold the up or down buttons pressed for a longer period of time and it will zoom. The battery life sucks on 90% of the cameras... no way around it
Hello Alex, I would like to ask you about two cameras which to choose. I am about Apeman A70 and Apeman A80. I would like to ask about sensor and chipset. Are they same or not, which is better. I am interesting only about full HD don`t need 2k or 4k. As well I need image stabilization on video and possibility to use like a dash camera and make video with charger plugged in. Or you can advice me more better action camera with the same price?
Thank you for advice. One more thing.. how not to buy fake camera. There is 3 versions of A80 cameras. One of is with the elongated power (orange) button, the same as on your review video (I could not find them on the sale), second version, the orange power button is round and on the left bottom corner and third version is square orange button on the left upper corner. Any advice?
Hey! I've got a quick question. I am confused about which action camera I should buy. I have 3 options which are Akaso EK7000 4K, SJ4000, and APEMAN A80 4K. Which one would you recommend? Or could you rank them?
Surprisingly SJ4000 has just a couple of reviews on Amazon. Here is the link that you can see: www.amazon.com/SJCAM-Original-Version-Bicycle-Battery/dp/B06XWS4BGG/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1533592023&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=sj4000&psc=1
I have apeman 4k action camera and let me tell you for the money you will save vs buying something used that you don't know what's it been through this is a winner. Awesome camera. Decent record time. Very clear footage. And they give you a shitload of mounts and gadgets for around 60 bucks new on eBay
After watching some of his reviews I was reading specs on Amazon and the voice in my head was in his accent. 🤣
hahaha! Epic!
Yeah he sounds like Russian 😁 cool
Lmao same!! That guy is great!
The way you reviewed this product was nothing short than impressive. I havent watched any of your videos but I know what to expect :) Keep up your great work. Subbed!
+sanjeet arun i'm glad you liked it :) trying to get better and better with every video. Welcome to the channel! Positive criticism is always welcome!
ditto.
You should do a research and maybe it is possible to make a powerful 360 camera out of all those cheap action cameras you've reviewed!
+TechLineHD that is a pretty cool idea!
Thanks Alex for your great review. I just bought this camera and I am excited! I got a good deal on it too. It was $42 + $6 shipping. Mine was the 14MP version so that’s probably why it was so little.
i think there are a couple of models available. I've only tried this model from them. Let us know how it is when you get it
CMTech yeah you got the wrong one bro think u got the A66 or A77 which unfortunately shite compared to A80 it’s on offer now at amazon for £56 pound , if you wondered why your videos weren’t as good as his that’s reason why
@@RedskullPro which one should I go for This one or Akaso? There's no warranty on both products.
just purchased it today. the quality is absolutely stunning for this price.
I think there is a new improved version than the one in this video and I heard the video quality has also been improved
@@RedskullPro could be, yes, I've attached it to my motorcycle helmet and I'm really really impressed with the footage.
@@RedskullPro ps. yes, I've just noticed, mine looks slightly different than yours, so it is probably a newer version .
I just purchased the A77, wish I'd waited and gone for this now! 🙁
Actually the first test about the cam that is serious! Thanks again man, based on your review I bought this device and I am fully satisfied - especially the Gyroscope is really useful and unique in this price range I think.
I was on the fence about buying this and ended up making the purchased based in your review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! The A80 has been updated since this video and I heard good things about it. Can't really go wrong for around $70
The yi is much more expensive than this of course it won't compare to it. As you know for the price this is offering some good quality.
Seems much better than a lot of the other cheap 4K action cams you've reviewed! Especially the sound. Well the video is a lot better too! Thanks for sharing
+MrUnbelievableAbs yeah, this one was among the best i've tried in quite some time and for $70 i think it's pretty good
Wow, great video!!! You deserve more subscribers and views bro! Nice Job on this Review!!!!
Just got mine shipped from Amazon today. Just started playing with it. This review defiantly helped me to understand the features more. Thanks
Glad I could help!
Thank you for this great review! I just ordered this camera on Ebay and can't wait until it gets here.
Thank you very much for watching!
I've just uploaded first footage from motorcycle ride on my apeman A77, mega impressed with such a budget piece of kit
Got this for $52 today on Amazon during their lightning deals. Great review.
Just got the same today, hope it's a good camera!
I love your reviews and your pleasant accent makes that even better.

+VelronTech one of the best I've seen for this price
Fantastic review! Gonna buy this ASAP, almost picked up the stabilization-less and terrible audio having Act74
Thank you!
Thanks for checking it out!
I checked out so many of your reviews looking for the best quality cameras with gyros for under $100 and settled upon this Apeman a80. Can't wait to get it. It cost me $102 with a 64 micro sd. I also spent $20 bucks for some accessories since I plan to take it to Maui in a month l.
some 64gb sd cards don't seem to work...some do. Let us know your experience with it

I like the Redskull videos. A lot of information presented in a very professional way. Keep up the good work!

+Tech ALL that sucks.. Sorry to hear...
This guy is really good at doing reviews I've subscribed to his channel. He speaks better English than some English people. Great review iam going to buy this model.
wow big difference with gyro stabilization on, good night time recording all things considered. Not a bad action camera at all.
lol that audio low battery warning would drive me nuts.
you can turn it off, but of course i didn't realize that till i got back home :)
Would you recommend this over the Akaso EK7000, or the Firefly s7?
Echo'sGaming well already it's cost less than both of those?
Does the watermark on the corner stay there when you edit videos?

WOW😮😮😮 THE BEST ACTION CAMERA YOU HAVE EVER REVIEWED😉😉👌👌👌👌👌SO CLEAR AND GREAT 👌👌👌😁
yeah, the footage is unexpectedly good, like crystal clear!
You've been so helpful! I've been looking for a budget action camera and couldn't choose one.. thank you!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm glad the video was useful! Thanks for watching!
Thanks. Based on your review, I bought this model to go on the end of a 30 foot painter's pole to do high-up inspections in a warehouse
It's a great camera for the price. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Great review. A lot of info, but still well paced and very informative. Kudos! By the way: NICE wheels! :)

Hey, yeah, we didn’t really get anything new and innovative in the past 2 years... well... just EIS for 4K recordings for cameras under $150
Nice and clean review, great job covering everything it does on land. I wish we could have seen what it does under water.
Canadian temperatures don't exactly allow for that

I've watched lots of footage shot from the Apeman and the Eken. In my opinion, the Eken has a slight upper hand. The night footage and underwater footage from the Eken seems to look better to me. That's just purely my opinion.
They're both garbage, fake 4k Interpolated and the CMOS censor isn't 20MP lol the H9R is even worse.

Yeah, big difference between the Novatek 96660 Processor used in the A80 and the Allwinner V3 used in the A77
haha, love the slight Slavic accent (you speak proper English), good and informative video thank you.
thanks for checking out the video :)
Thanks for such an awesome review. The whole video was very professional I am impressed and will subscribe to your channel.
Great video. Would you recommend this for use for on board motorcycle footage? Is there a 3.5mm jack to attach an external mic? Thanks
What type camera are you using in your review of the Apeman A80? It has great quality and sound the reason I ask.

I used a couple to put a camera on a RC car and it worked great...

Finally a decent camera for you to review. Maybe it's me, but sound on this video review seems out of synch with picture.
+Scott Mannear maybe do a phone restart, the sound should come back to normal after. Yeah, this was finally a good camera

Get the A80, better quality for the recordings
Hello, is this camera much inferior to the Akaso V50x in image quality and stabilization?
yes and yes
Good review, very useful. For moving shots, it would be good to know if you are walking, biking or car mounted. Also would like to see a bit faster action like jogging or faster biking. Appreciate the stabilization on and off film.
Old video, the new action camera reviews include all that and more :)
Awesome review man thumbs up 👍
Great review! I just bought one and want to purchase a micro sd card. In the description it says a class 10 card is recomended. What kind of card should i get? I plan to shoot in 1080 60fps mode most likely.
+Jourele macalino i used this sd card with it and worked perfectly for all the resolutions.

What's the best app to use please. Keep up the great videos
does this camera support an external mic ?
+Versys Chris the batteries are the same for many if them..
Hi, thanks for another great review. Would you be able to give me some advice?
I don't know which one would be better for video vlogging:
Apeman A80 or SooCoo C30?
i didn't try the c30 and just based on specs it's hard to say
Wonderful review! Would you consider this the best overall action camera for $80 or less? I am comparing this to the Akaso EK7000, the DBPower 4k, the Campark ACT74 or ACT76 and the Fitfort 4k. The Apeman is the most expensive of this group but also the only one with image stabilization so, for a casual user, is it a better buy than the others?
this is the best i found under $80 for sure. I tried that Akaso camera as well but not that great.
Redskull Thank you!!

Good review, not too long and boring. I was looking for a camera to record my motorcycle trips, looks like this is the one. Thx !
happy to hear, thanks for watching.
After watching your video I decided to buy the camera, now can you recommend me a free and easy to use software to make some clips?
my a80 dash camera power button is a bite different from yours?
i got it at amazon around $40 with tax?
i want to buy the thing that hold the camera?
so i dont need to hold my hands?
Very thorough, all explained clearly and some great samples and demonstrations. Have subbed. :)
On this camera, I stumbled across it on Amazon as my brother was looking for a cheaper alternative to a GoPro for his motorbike sessions and think it'd be great.
Your reviews are great
Did you edit or enhance the footage in anyway? Looks super clear and sharp,my Gopro is rather dull looking, espessially compared to the Apeman.
i didn't alter the footage from this camera in any way. what gopro are you using? Keep in mind it was nice and sunny for those recordings
Awesome thanks for the reply. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews and big differences in footage looking at all these test vids from others. Only a few are clear like yours, the rest are choppy and low quality like 240p lol.
Are you from Ontario? I'm from Guelph.
Great review, this seems perfect for me.
Great reviewer! Any camera between the A80 and v50x in price and quality? Or is that the best 2 under £100 mark. Thx
v50x
@@RedskullPro Thx bro
Awesome and thorough review, well done.
+Ram kumar im glad you liked it thanks for watching!
@RedSkull: Should I buy this or AKASO EK7000 . What do you think?
the apeman a80
Nice clean and to the point review, thank you for that
Glad it was helpful!
Great review, I bought this camera because of the price, I didn't go out and test it yet, but wow, this is a bargain for how much I paid for it.
for the price i think it's awesome
my husband is a mountain biker and I thought of buying him an action camera but I'm confused whether to get the Apeman A80 or the Thieye t5e since the apeman has more accessories to be mounted on bikes and so on but the Thieye records real 4K, have you noticed that big difference of video recording between both ? which one would you personally prefer ?
I really like your reviews , Thank you for the effort!
considering that I can get both for the same price now, what do you think ?
+Marwa Younis if you want to save some $ the Apeman is a good choice, if you want better quality you will want the Thieye t5e but you will need to get extra accessories
Great review! Are you able to turn off the "low power" warning; the one that plays at 4:40? Thank you!
Which one should I buy EKEN H9R or Apeman A80 4K according to your opinion ???
I would get the Apeman A80
Hey Alex
What would you recommend between apeman a80 vs akaso ek7000 pro?
The A80
Great review. Great video content. The camera will save me $130. Does it come with a remote?
I have an A80 and an A77... Do you know if there is a way to set them to a constant frame rate?
Please let me know the exact weight of this camera. As I'm willing to buy a gimbal with it. I want to know if my desired gimbal can hold it's weight..
All these cheap action cams have fake specs so its hard to know what you are getting.
yeah, I am pretty sure I mentioned that the 96660 cannot record in real 4k
How’s the video microphone when the camera is in the waterproof case?
Weak
Thanks for the hard work with the camera reviews! I need to record music videos with something like that, does this support external aux-in or external microphone input? :)
+Gary Goh i don't think it does... But i don't have a micro USB microphone to check it out for sure
Alex - can I zoom in while shooting videos? The up/down buttons seem to be for WIFI-settings. Best regards. ps: Battery life is a pain..
it's been a while since i had this....but i think you can zoom....hold the up or down buttons pressed for a longer period of time and it will zoom. The battery life sucks on 90% of the cameras... no way around it
That helped. Thank you, Alex.
Very good detailed video. Thanks a lot for the effort 😁
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, get the A80, that one is using the novatek 96660
I would get the A80
Is it worth getting a used GoPro Hero 4 or the Apeman? Heard people say the GoPro’s battery life isn’t great?
I have apeman 4k action camera and let me tell you for the money you will save vs buying something used that you don't know what's it been through this is a winner. Awesome camera. Decent record time. Very clear footage. And they give you a shitload of mounts and gadgets for around 60 bucks new on eBay
cool man love these action cameras subbed
+williamthe chosenone happy to hear, thanks for watching and welcome to the channel!
Would you recommend this as the best affordable action camera (e.g. to mount an a bicycle)? Better than the akaso v50?
I think you should try getting the Akaso v50x
@@RedskullPro Thanks!
