VICTORIAN AMBIENCE: Victorian London Thunderstorm (Horses, Bells, Walking on Cobblestone)

- A million thank-yous to the kind and incredibly talented Florent Tunno for giving me permission to use his beautiful artwork for this Victorian ambience! Check out his work here: www.artstation.com/florenttunno
I hope you brought your umbrellas, folks! I wanted to do a sort of remake of my last Victorian era street ambience and fix some of the mistakes in that one (like the crickets, which made no sense in that scene, and the rain sound, which could have been richer). I got rid of the fireflies, too, and kept the animations super simple to give that barren, desolate feel. I also added dry, rolling thunder to this ambience, as it was requested a number of times! So strap yourselves into the time machine, because this week we're once again heading back to the Victorian era, to a rainy and abandoned street, in the midst of a thunderstorm.
Some sounds you'll hear in this Victorian London ambience are: Thunderstorm sounds, horses, bells, people talking in the distance, people walking on cobblestone and through puddles, and more.
I hope you enjoy!

@Karla Kirkpatrick I agree.
COOOL I Like it!! d((~___~))b
Beautiful painting!
OMG this pic is beautiful. I love rainy nightscapes with warm lighting. His other work is amazing too, thx for sharing the link
Same!
I have always been obsessed with Old London... Dark and Mysterious Gas lit corridors and the sound of Horse Carriages. Very Nice😍
I wish there were more movies that captured the feel of this time. Aesthetically, I find it such a beautiful and haunting era!
Gaslights make a pretty sound. Actually, all lights make a pretty sound. They squeal
Yes I have #synesthesia. I hear colors and patterns and shapes.
@Armored Titan If only I could add scents to videos . . .
@Armored Titan Yuk...
@@AutumnCozy *pleasant* scents, not icky scents.
This was automatically therapeutic. So many small details if you listen closely. The visual aesthetic is perfect. Time to cuddle up with a good book!
I'm happy you like it! Happy reading!
You should totally read stalking jack the ripper series. An awesome book to say the very least and goes with the theme of the video ☺
It’s time for me to have some hot tea.
@@azia5051 exactly:)
Horses on cobblestone just does something to my soul. Forever the best sound
Puff
I know!
i just cant explain enough how familiar this looks and sounds to me... its like a long forgotten memory, where i cover my head with my hat as i run to the local dim lit pub and hang my coat as i am embraced with the warmth and roaring laughter of the people chatting there. feels so familiar in ways i cannot explain!
transport me .. thanks.
Reincarnation perhaps
You're confusing familiarity with something else.
Obviously...
@@switchlaserflip9243 which is?
It looks like London 1886 the time of Jack the ripper
This sky and the blue reflections are beautifully made ! I think this is your most realistic ambience so far. I'm almost there... Well done ! ^^
Ah, yay-I'm happy this immersed you, Moonlight! 🧡🤗 It's fun to step back in time every now and then!
This is hauntingly familiar in ways I cannot tell, and yet so foreign to my modern ears...
Cheers to that
You put it into words...
It’s anemoia, look it up
@@TomTom-nj8dr Wait, really? I've never even heard of that before...
@@Azi483 yup, feeling like you lived in that time period without actually living through it.
I have many daydreams of being in old London especially this era.. riding in the back of a carriage , wearing fancy dresses a corset, finding a dapper suitor ... Then waltzing away outside to the rain soaked streets and laughing then finally the kiss.... Yes I love this video ❤️❤️
Flowers 💐 My Lady
hows that different to paris, st.petersburg or milan?? same stuff more or less princessfart
@@II-kd1gi cos it’s Victorian
I know that life in the Victorian Era must have been quite tragic and poor, but at the same time, so many wonderful developments in culture, music, and science were taking place... Satie and Debussy were composing mysterious, melancholic pieces for the piano; Mary Anning was finding fossils that revolutionised our understanding of the Earth; Victor Hugo was contributing remarkable works of literature that questioned so poetically the injustices of society.
Thank you for this beautiful Victorian ambience, Autumn Cozy :) It really takes you down beautiful paths and trains of thought.
Haha you said debussy
This is my absolute favorite!! I love hearing the speaking in the background. This will be my "go to" video for sleep.
I love to hear it! I wanted to capture that sound of people caught in the rain, rushing to get someplace dry. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@AutumnCozy I'm glad I can hear it at least a little bit. Too bad I can't hear the clock as well. I'm going to buy earbuds.
Agh! Must actually listen with headphones; I've listened to this one several times and never caught the speaking... T_T Thanks for mentioning it! (And the soundscape really is extremely comforting somehow.)
I had never seen a fouler night. The musky cocktail of damp mould lingered in the air like a phantom. Worse still, I was called on this night to investigate yet another grisly murder carried out by the infamous "Ripper," whose deeds would please even Lucifer, himself.
This was good. This was _really_ good! You captured the mood perfectly!
👏👏👏
Nah, beautiful night.
@@anthonypalermo8816 depending on the context, sure.
Somebody else might be headed to the pub to lift one with their mates after a hard day's work.
As one comment I read elsewhere mentioned, Victorian London must have been a really spooky place at night. Jack the Ripper, mist, countless ghosts and hellhounds, faint and flickering streetlamps, Spring-Heeled Jack.
This is absolutely stunning! I would love to take a time machine back to Victorian London for a few days! Something about this era captivates me so!
It truly is a captivating era! People always point out how awful it was back then, and I know that, but to just _visit_ for a day or two would be so lovely! ☔️
Depending on how you acted, you could end up portrayed in a Dickens novel.

Me too. I think it's because in a way it parallels a lot of what's going on today.
Oh to be able to time travel. I went on a jack the ripper tour by foot some years ago and finished in the 10 bells hotel on a rainy night. My imagination was running riot. Best holiday ever, I adore Victorian history. Many thanks from Australia.

Listening to this ambience while it rains outside in quarantine. What a world we live in.
@Paddy Mcdoogle Ahhh, lol I'm screaming!
This thunderstorm is wonderful. Love the sounds of the heavy rain and the rolling thunder. It is the perfect ambience for a relaxing nap ♡

This is still my favorite ambiance of all time. I can't even begin to tell you how often I come back here. Sleep, inspo, coping with mental illness, it covers it all. And the visual is just divine ❣️
Something about this makes it look both fantasy and down to earth. It’s a mixtrue of vibes. But nostalgic for some reason
I've been listening to this music and waves for many nights to help me rest. I struggle to fall asleep because of pain. I read a few comments for the first time tonight and my heart was warmed within me. To those who come after me and read my comment, allow yourself to be encouraged by the words of others here. Let your heart, mind, and body be put at ease, at lest for the night. You are not really alone.
Thank you. Remember that you too are not alone but among friends and like minded people.❤️
Love the glow of the street lights and the dramatic sky! As the days are getting hotter this summer these types of scenes feel great.
Thank you, CBN! It's quite hot in Vancouver today (well, what we Canadians consider hot anyway, ha!), so I'm queuing up some 'not summery at all' ambiences to write to today!
I love old London! The dark and misty alleyways and mysterious buildings all around! Carriages on cobblestone and just the aura it has! Like there’s a mystery about to happen at every corner! It just seemed easier to make your way in the world then, if you were well connected that is. All you needed was a few good connections and maybe a college degree or some important job.
And sometimes it feels that there are some werewolves howling on statues of gargoyles makes it much good
Agreed. Being an aristocrat would definitely help too!
Would you ever do a rainy city ambiance? Like heavy rain on the pavement, the glow of the streetlights, distant sounds of cars and people walking.. that would be lovely
I just arrived home from work. And suddenly.... I find myself strolling down this cobbled street of beautiful, gothic architectural buildings. Transfixed by the sounds of rain and horse drawn carriages. Thanks Autumn Cozy.😆 💙 💙 💙 💛 💛 💛

@@AutumnCozythank you for the info, but earbuds are cheaper, because I am on a limited income. BTW, in case you wondered *why I changed my account so often* it's because I've been dissed often on social media. Some people don't understand my intense feelings about certain music and art and they call me "obsessive" and "narrow-minded". Trolls, they are. And that's why I change my account so often. Just yesterday I got a comment saying "Stop obsessing about "Forest Green" (my favorite tune) and of course that broke my heart in bits. I hate being called names. I love having narrow interests/tastes in music, architecture, and books. I fervently wish people (especially social media users) would respect that. So what if I love Forest Green and Handel's compositions better than any other compositions in the world? It's not for others to worry about. I love being eccentric and having narrow tastes and interests.

*I can't open my eyes!*
that's the first thing that crosses my mind as I regain lucidity.
My body lays, numb yet stuff as a board on an unknown surface. For how long, I'm not sure.
The first thing to come back was my hearing. My once quiet world turning upside-down as a sudden explosion of noise assaults my ears. Horse hooves clattering on stone, the loud, snappy voices of people passing by, the soft pattering of distant rain, and the unmistakable squeak of large, disease ridden rodents.
Gradually, I also could also hear the distant sounds of a large clock. Unconsciously counting it's loud chimes I guessed that it was a bit past nine in the morning.
All at once I was aware of my body. My cheek pressed against rain slicked stone, and I was soaked to the bone, my clothes clinging onto my thin frame, i could feel each drop of the rain as it hit my still, unmoving body.
Was I on the ground? If so why and how did u get here?
Next was smell. By far the worst of them all. The place stank of waste from animals, and probably humans too. The air was heavy with the smell of rotting food and body oder.
Finally, my eyesight gradually returns.
Chips of stone, and bits of old food and trash litter the ground around me. Thuroughly disgusted, I scramble to my feet, dusting off my pants and shirt sleeves. After wiping the rain from my bleary eyes, I take full note of the world around me.
I was in, an allyway? A verry dirty and shrub choked one at that.
Just in front of me is a bustling street. But there's no cars or neon signs, theirs...
Wagon's
Horse drawn wagons make their way up and down the narrow, mud caked streets.
Stepping out of the ally, I gawk as one of the wagons passes by, right in front of me.
I'm brought back to reality as I notice..
Their are people, lining the streets and leaning out of second story windows.
Their all stareing at me.
Panic shoots through my small body as I feel the combined force of their judging eyes.
What should I do?
*A.* *Try to ask for help/ directions*
*B.* *Atempt to act natural*

How cozy. It gives a comfort to hear the sound of horses' hooves with the noise of the rain. Too good!!! ❤🥰

Can we give suggestions? How about a rainy day in a tropical environment like old Nassau type pirate times :)

Creak of ships in the harbor, waves lapping the hull, thunder, clink of glasses from the people inside the tavern (faintly), liquor be poured (faintly), crickets (faintly), rain...And though it may be historically correct, NO SEAGULLS!!! Please! This would be excellent for writing!!!!
