Hi Dave, and thank you mate, very much appreciated. All's well with us this end thank you👍👌 I hope all's well with you and your family👍👍 Here's wishing you and your family a great Christmas, and all the very best for the New Year mate. Take care and have a good one 👍👍. Terry.
Nice to see you back, everything outside looking very tidy always something to do especially with the weather we've had this so called summer. Your fish dont seem to bother when you're working round the pond mine go to the bottom until I've finished 😂, hopefully you are keeping better. Gwen 🧓
Hi Gwen, and thank you mate, always appreciated. That's right, there's always something to do in the garden or on the pond. My koi do tend follow me around the pond, but they're a bit like me, getting old mate😂😂 Your's will get use to you in time. Take care and stay safe, Terry.
@@Wrighty Three in the pond have been there 20 years they're real skittish but will come to me at feeding time but that's ok cos if there's any predators (herron or cat) they're straight to the bottom of the pond.
Hi mate, all looking well down there that Summer house project will keep you busy 👍 a bit of karma with that tree situation should of listen to Wrighty 😆 No season at all up here really this year and life just seems to go at a very fast pace these days don't know where the months go to. Robbed of a summer again up North but all is well with the pond & koi so can't complain to much. Ps. Maybe I need to get a weather app like you good lady placebo effect perhaps 😂 As always Be Well Man... Mark 👍
Hi Mark, and thanks mate. My wife is now claiming, that one day at 19c was the warm spell she was talking about🤣🤣🤣 I've no idea what weather program she's looking at on there😂 Good to here all's well with your pond mate👍👍I'm going to have to get my covers on, I do keep putting it off. Take care and stay safe mate, Terry.
Hi mate, and thank you, it's very much appreciated. It is a bit difficult to find things to make videos about now I don't make things to show. Thanks again and take care mate, Terry.
Glad to see you’re back with another great video , you’ve just given me an idea how to cut back my Iris - using the edging shears on their side , I’ve got a pair that I’ve had for years and never used !! I’ll have to give them a good clean and sharpen first !! Job for the weekend Take care
Hi mate, and thank you, it means a lot. I use my edging shears quite a lot for pruning the trees etc, they are very handy on the thinner branches. Glad I've helped a little mate👍👍 take care, Terry.
Great to see you back Terry, I wondered where you'd got too, you must of just been enjoying this long hot summer we've had 😎☀☀🌞 Hmm maybe not 😥 oh well, only another 8 months to the next one eh! Take care pal, garden and water critters looking fantastic, see ya soon.
Hi mate, your quite right, I've been busy rubbing oil in my sun burn😂😂 it does leave us with nothing to look forward to, I must admit. 🤞🤞for next year. Take care mate, Terry.
You're quite right mate. It doesn't seem as bad this year, but I wonder if it's because we've had no summer to close down from. Thank you for the kind comments on the garden, must admit, I'm not a gardener😂😂. I am good at cutting the lawns🤣🤣 Take care mate, Terry.
Winter is hear down in Devon Terry but holding off the covers for a week or two yet but I don't want to be out there in the cold and rain covering it so will have to pick a good day when for it
Hi Martyn, yes mate, I know what you mean. We've had nothing but rain here for days. I've not got my covers on yet, but I am using my pond heater to keep it above 13c. Lets hope it's not going to be a bad winter. Take care mate, Terry.
Great video Terry lots of content, shame the summer(if you can call it that) is over but we can look forward to next year. I've had a decent year for growing the koi but don't have heating in the pond but they all survived last winter. Hoping to move house soon so that's going to be a nightmare moving all my koi. Hope your all keeping well look forward to your next video.
Hi David, and thank you for your kind comments mate. We're all well this end, thank you. I hope all's well with you and your family. Wow! I remember when we moved here, it was a nightmare. I bought one of the £100 pools and the people at the house here let me put it up and get it running before we moved, which made things a lot easier. Thanks again mate and take care, Terry.
@@Wrighty Hi Terry that's just what I'll have to do, we're looking at a bungalow which is empty and I'll have to but one of those 1500 gallon tanks for the time being. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will agree to let me do just as you did.
You can always get the electric meter read first, then it shouldn't matter to them. All the best with the move mate, and I hope all goes well for you, Terry.
Your fine using a hose pipe on a shower setting to rinse the coil and fins down on your heat pump. I work in air con... it's a pressure washer that will do damage.
Hi Rich, It didn't quite come out right in the video. I was trying to say, don't use the jet on your hose. I hadn't thought of using the shower on my nozzle, thanks mate and take care, Terry.
Hi Richard, I'm very well thank you. I hope all's well with you and your family. If you can drop me an email to pondfilters@gmail.com telling me just what plans you want, I'll sort it out for you mate. Terry.
@@Wrighty Yeah it will probably still be quite aerobic in the aquarium setting there's a few ways to do it. Your setup I think either a vegetable filter or a tower like your protein skimmer water comes in one end preferably at the bottom and it slowly fills and outflows back to the moving bed. Would need to be quite large and packed with sand water would need too move through the filter at 0.8 litres a minute preferably less. Or full it with a nitrate removal resin
Your garden, pond and filter house is looking immaculate as always. It's getting quite cold here as well, single digits Celsius most days and nights now. I've just finished moving my koi indoors for the winter and shut down my pond. So depressing knowing the pond will not be running again until next May or June. 😢 Glad your tree issue has been resolved. My son had a similar issue with a tree at his neighbours house but when it split it fell a ripped open a huge hole in the roof. Fortunately no one was injured as it happened during the night when the entire family was asleep. Insurance covered the cost of the repairs although it took about a month to get things made right. I saw the video you pinned a few weeks back as I follow Lee from the Japanese Water Garden. I was definitely impressed with that wooden RDF.
Hi Ken, and thank you mate. Our summers just seem to be getting less and less each year, and the winters are getting longer. What is happening to global warming? It's good that you can bring your koi inside for winter. Mine don't do too bad, as my water doesn't get any colder than 13c. Yes, the wooden RDF was the first one I built, and did work really well. It's a beautiful pond though. Thanks again mate and take care, Terry.

Wow, that is stunning! All those plants supporting natural cleaning of the pond too.
Wow that pond amazing
Nice video again Terry looking very organised as normal
Thanks mate, I must admit, I look more organised than I am mate 👍😂 take care, Terry.
Nice to see you Terry 👍
Thanks Paul, much appreciated mate, Terry.
Good to see you back. Hope your keeping better. Sad to see the covers going on already 🙄 Look after yourself
Thanks Marty, I'm well mate thank you. I hope all's well your end👍👍what happened to summer?? I must have missed it!! take care, Terry.

Could always tap off a slow flow nitrate filter and have it return to the moving bed filter
