I have just found this channel and setup guides while I was searching for tips on damper settings and I have to say you're a godsend to simracing community. Those guides are just perfect - they aren't 30+ minutes long lectures and are short enough to keep your attention and explain it in detail, really well made.

After fiddling with setups myself in sims, I have a whole new appreciation and respect for the guys that do it for real cars, where the costs of getting it wrong are so much higher.
Some critical feedback on great video series :-), I'm really enjoying these thanks. For a complete race car nube this one is a little vague. I'm knowledgeable with aerodynamics (education and I fly plane sims) and the main problem with this video is the actual parts of the car being discussed are (eg diffuser, splitter etc) sparsely explained. A basic diagram (or arrows pointing @) the physical components being discussed would aid clarity a lot. I guess now from you video I know what to read up on for this to make more sense and what to tune. (Prob because its a big topic and this is a very short video). *In short* : explain the components in a bit more detail, point out with arrows or a with diagram the item and a practical example in a sim is also helpful (viewers are wanting to know how to use it to make their car faster)

Hi Chris, watching the whole serie to take my simracing to a better level and I'm loving it! One question though. When you end all the technical videos could you please choose - let's say in Assetto Corsa - a good track/car combo to apply your settings to and maybe demonstrate how the setup process actually works when you're in a race situation? For example showing you picking a car, driving a lap, noticing understeer, telling us what's the first thing you'd do to correct that and go from there if the problem gets solved or not? That would be really helpful :) seeing these videos is awesome but if feels a bit like math, giving the formula and explaining it is great but having the teacher actually showing you how to solve a real problem with that knowledge helps to solidify all of that.
Nice informative series. A couple of things I'd like to suggest... Include which tracks/sims/car you use in each video. Would you venture into a Rally based series? I know a lot is the same, but there are also many differences for Rally that you could delve into.
Just binge watched the series like an evening on Netflix, i have to say it was great to have a full scaled back explanation of what it all does...P1 OVRC here i come!

At 5:50 you say that more rake gives more front aerodynamic downforce. I have read the competition car aerodynamics book and doesn't this state the opposite? Thank you anyways for the amazing series!
I have just clocked, Red-Bull have always been known for high rake angles since Mark Webbers accident. though many think it is for performance it may be more about safety?
Hi Chris,why are front and rear wings usually set up at different angles and what should be the thing to keep in mind when doing this ballance between them? I saw in many games this, usually rear wing is less angled
I have no doubt rake angle is useful in reality but are you sure these sims are able to take into account rake angle, i mean i know you can adjust it, but I guessed that was only modelling mechanical. I thought sims just use a look-up table for wing angles to apply pre-determined downforce at specific point. I am not sure they take into account angle of attack. Do they? I dont think they are doing cfd under the hood. Can anyone verify this? Tanks.

What Sebring are you using? Is it any good?
I use Sebring RTB off of Rd. It's good but lacks the bumpiness of the real life track.
