Michael’s better than I thought. Interested to see if Dressel will adapt to long course. Edit: I just checked... Dressel was way faster at Budapest. He must have not tried at this.
Adapt to long course? You know he’s the fastest ever swimmer in long course in a textile suit? Or that he won 7 gold medals at last years worlds??? If he was rested and tapered here he would have dusted Andrew by a second. He’s going to break the World Record in the 50 this summer. Andrew doesn’t train yardage like Dressel so he’s virtually always tapered.
J Yeah, my bad. I thought something was off because I remembered him being better so I went back to check his Budapest time. He had a 21.15. So I take it back, he wasn’t even trying for this.
BusWillCrush give a fist pump. Don’t make a wave like you just won the Olympic gold medal when you’re at a random meet that only you rested and tapered for. The real best in the world is there so that’s why I’m guessing Andrew celebrated like that. Except he’s in heavy training and watching Andrew celebrate like that is only going to serve to piss him off when it comes time for the national meet.
BusWillCrush uhh, Michaels training means he doesn’t ever “taper”. He’s basically always tapered. Race Pace swimming means you’re doing very very low yardage. There’s nothing to taper off of.
USRPT doesn't mean you're just taking it easy, the practices are still extremely draining. You won't taper much in yardage, but you can still taper in intensity significantly.
So Caeleb just proves to everyone at NCAA that he’s pretty much superhuman, and faster than everyone by a long shot. After that meet he’s been training at Florida like hell, and he’s only going to taper for Pan Pacs and other big stuff like that. It’s kinda arrogant, but basically he’s saying like “if I put on a fast suit/taper/ACTUALLY try, I’ll blow you guys outta the water, so I’ll jist treat it like a fast practice.”
Not even wearing a fastskin wow
Did anyone see the guy doing fly?
Almost missed that, I had to re-watch it.
wasn't even last
Wassup loser
nick liu don’t call me that nick

Michael’s finish was bad though. He could have gone lower if he timed it for a more extended finish..

phil null he wasnt even wearing a racing suit and i doubt he tapered
+100
Oof, I don’t think it’s a good idea to celebrate like that if front of Caeleb, Michael Andrew. No need to give him bulletin board material.

Evan Elsaesser how tf do you decrease intensity in race pace training lol. Stop training at race pace? Sorta defeats the purpose.
It's pretty easy--fewer reps and more rest in between.
Andrew needs a better finish and he will go a low 21
21.73
what did Michael go
Didn't think Dressel would be that slow! Well done Michael Andrew.
Caeleb Dressel was wearing briefs and Michael andrew was wearing a tech suit
@@conan_chen and dressel barely even tried
Where can I find lochtes races at
God bless
Shane ryan yup ie
What's with all the straight arm swimmers
It's faster for 50 free to use straighter arms
it’s a 50 of course they’re gonna straight arm it’s a sprint
Billy Bob k
It only works in the 50
Caeleb with no taper no shave and no tech suit? Can anyone explain?

Benjamin Van Vechten yup
