Clove is VALORANT's newest controller agent, and in this video I go over all 4 of their abilities, and explain what they do!

I can already imagine so many players just gonna use this agent as a duelist and having no experience how to properly smoke lol

The fact Clove has to get a kill or assist quickly after respawning to stay alive is such a cool and effective way to balance the move
It's renata ability from league not saying it's bad but that's basically it
the fact that you can respawn urself in a search and destroy game just op af... getting a kill is atleast a little balance but you still can give infos and there is absolutely no downside to the spell... like getting a kill/assist not the hardest to do tbh and like i said even if u dont you still have more than enough time to pressure ennemis or be usefull

The fact that people comment everything without knowledge of the game is crazy, this is most broken than Phoenix ult😂😂
As a controller main I really love the ability to smoke for my team when I'm dead. Allows me to play more aggressively without the fear of negatively effecting my team on retakes or defense.
Honesty it's not like that you can only smoke the place where you are dead (for example if u are dead on A then u can only smoke A) but yeah still pretty cool

That’s exactly what I’m thinking, I love playing controller but my duelist teammates don’t entry half the time and I have to stay alive to smoke, I can help entry if I need to but it’s not as devastating

ok this agent ACTUALLY seems OP, the biggest thing to me is the smoke regen being 30 seconds, thats actually insane, coupled with the fact that she can smoke while spectating, she straight up is the best duelist controller hybrid replacing omen rn
Paranoia and smoke range clears
Nah omens paranoia is what allows him to run it down and lets him do crazy tps nothing in cloves kit makes her a proper duelist hybrid since nothing really allows her to make space like the way the paranoia does however the 30 secs and the ult is pretty strong but not op since the person can literally who killed you wont be far so they can just kill you again so not too broken at all
@@sleepking2565I agree with the first part but not the second. Imagine it's a 2v2 and you're playing post plant in Cave on breeze A site. It's pretty much a 3v2 because of the long distance between bomb and clove.

the smokes only last 12 seconds which is a big disadvantage, she definetly is the worst smoker when comes to delaying site push, we have said 3 times an agent will be op only to be pretty shitty so hold on.
EXPERIMENT:
while playing clove with available ult , iso pulls inside his ult
Now you died inside ult
now what are possibilities:
1. you revive and kill iso (OR)
2. due to end of iso ult timer both dies (waste to use clove ult in iso ult? ) (OR)
3. you died in iso ult, now immediatly you pressed ult (cloves) now where you respawn ? (respawns in map or some glich happens?)
TRY THESE POSSIBILITIES PLEASE🤓
1. You can be revived inside iso's ult if you kill him while your ult(clove) is active (or it is already active before iso used his ult against you) since it is counted as a kill
2. I think clove dies first if Iso didn't manage to kill clove since iso's ult can last for 15 seconds
3. You respawn where Iso picked you up, therefore, you respawn in that part of the map
Also, you can't use any abilities inside Iso's ult but I think you already know that.
This all just possibilities too, I just answered with the datas I gathered. Educate me If I'm wrong.
You cannot use any abilities inside iso's ult, so I think this applies to clove as well
She definitely has the best ability animations among the recent agents it's so fluid 😍

As a reyna neon main who plays viper and omen I am happy
I always wanted that agents could use abilities while spectating. And finally clove has it, I would recruit this agent as soon as they're available
Clove is slightly OP. I think that soon the duration of their smokes regenerating will be increased to offset the insanity of it. Also, I assume the decay damage will be reduced at some point, maybe to 30-40 instead of 10. 10 is just insane, you don't even need aim at that point.
as an omen and reyna main, i see this as an absolute win
As a controller main I like her, but dislike the fact that non controller players will try to play her without any knowledge of how to smoke. Smoking when dead seems wrong to me, but along my first point, I'm concerned non-controllers will just troll teammates with bad smokes when dead. We will see.
They will only play her once or twice then they will see that they cant play smokes n give up

The Karthus smokes are crazy, also this is a good change for Reyna/phoenix mains, so they can learn controllers while playing similarly to the old Reyna
Or just keep playing duelist and let smoke players play smokes because you know they know how to play smokes

Agreed, I’m a reyna main that also plays omen but feels like if I play Omen I can’t be nearly as agressive, meaning we lose rounds.
Imagine this scenario: Clove is the last player standing vs another enemy, if they have ult and gets taken down: Does the round finish there or after the ult has been used or saved?
she can only ressurect if one of her teammates is alive

The smokes last 12 seconds, thought i do believe they regenerate faster.
Note for the pick me up, you can also use it if you get a assist, and you do not need line of sight
When placing smokes after dying, is the range centered on your body or the team mate you're spectating? It looks a bit like it's on your body
Placing smokes after death should be an extension of not dead yet and consume an ult orb
They definitely need to tweak the smoke a tad for how good it is. Simultaneous smokes with decent range that last a while and can be used in death? Yea they gotta nerf part of it tbh but they look so fun
Looking good to me, or interesting at least. Another one of these "rewarding a kill" type abilities, like Iso (and Reyna). It's an interesting way to keep the characters different playstyles a bit.

The fact that 7 kills (or even 8 if you include Phoenix ult) are now actually possible is just insane to me
So just because she has 1 smoking ability she's a controller? Literally her kit is built for duelist
they were made as a solution for duelist main who don't want to fill a controller (and honestly, weak smoke is better than no smoke in a ranked game)
2 things:
1-does the afterdeath smoke yo show up for the person who’s being spectated?
2-can you still pick up or plant the spike while just coming back to life?

the new agent just got leaked, it’s codename is Clive, Clive goes by Zey/Zem and Zey are a sentinel. C ability is a grenade that sucks enemies into the middle and makes them vulnerable. The Q is a floor trap that when triggered traps an enemy for a set time while being marked, can be destroyed. E ability is a portal you can throw on to walls and teleport instantly to another portal when walked into. The Ultimate ability can rewind time if alive and teleports the player back to where they were 15 seconds ago, they have to be alive.
The strongest thing about her is smokes while being dead ngl it will change the game

Wow she actually makes me want to play controller, she's like a mix of Reynas overheals and phasing with her ult and viper or fades decay. Plus being able to smoke even while dead plus if she can move around the area she died in she'll have comms better than anyone in the game
May be one charge, but that decay is quite op, and can save herself during ultimate state...

After using your ult you have to earn a kill/assist. Does the assist without dealing damage count (for example if you put a smoke on someone)?
I think they said it must be a damaging assist.
EXPERIMENT:

now if she dies, match ends ?? or can use ult and play round??
You need to have one teammate alive to revive yourself (I think)
Well you need to activate the ult after you die in a short period so if you rev then the round will go on but you still need to kill the other in 12 sec otherwise you die.

clove after using ult, she will be like a dismissing reyna and then spawns,
now in dismissing state, can she pass through deadlock wall?
and also,
will deadlocks sonic sensors activates while in clove dismiss state??
As a Deadlock main, I assume that Clove might be able to pass through the wall, but I think the sensor will still activate since it is based on sound. I think when Reyna is becoming invisible, the sensor still activates, and I assume it might be the same case here
This can be used in a 1v1 clutch with spike down to prevent defusing
one question if attackers plant and kill everyone and the last one they kill is clove with ult does it end the round or force to wait for clove enemy to use ult?

Yknow many moons ago i had said they should make someone with *some* of renata's abilities from league to Valorant...this person's abilties are very similar in a way and im happy about it lol. The ult namely being very similar to Renata's W that gives you a few seconds to get a kill or assist or you wont revive

this could be playable in soloq. when it comes to replacing omen in the meta on the other hand i am not so sure. Paranoia is just better than meddle, pick me up is conditional which is never great and the effect itself isn't the best either. I would consider shrouded step to be more versatile and consistent overall, given it can function as a supporting gap closer (for example following the Jett in her smoke), an escape tool and grants access to elevated positions. Then there is the one-way aspect, i will just assume the smokes are coded like brimstone, so clove loses quite a lot of very useful one-ways. The range limitation not to mention, and i think clove's smokes don't last 18s but don't quote me on that. (Edit: 12s, which gives her 18s of down time)
The advantages clove has are the post death smokes, which is very hard to evaluate since there hasn't been such an ability in the game yet. As for the ults, neither of them greatly alter the way a round is played out, but again, from the shadows is a very versatile tool while not dead yet is, again, conditional

I agree it seems OP on paper. But in reality, it's like Sage's revive. The animation is long and it gives away the fact you're still there, coming back to life. It's easy to punish unless Clove has a teammate around to trade. The smokes is what I'm concerned about, that decay is absolutely gross
Good players realize that she’s an alright controller. The only good thing going for her is that she can smoke after death, but her smokes only last 12 seconds so it’s fairly balanced. I’d still choose brimstone over her purely because of his moly + ult

The newer agents and their abilities don't mesh as well as the original ones. For example, all of KJ abilities are tech relates, phoenix are fire based, omens whole thing is shadow. In contrast, Iso has a wall and a vulnerable which is odd because his other abilities are made for one v ones. or deadlock who has a wall. I know deadlock is a sentinel and without it she would be too weak, but her whole thing is being a hunter right? Sova's kit also being hunter themed has recon abilities, and his other abilities are tied to a bow and arrow which makes them stick to a theme. I cant even find a theme in cloves abilities other than they are purple. I wouldn't be as annoyed if the early agents didn't have a very clear theme in their kits and characters.
Iso is an assassin with tech powers I guess? Idk about Deadlock and this one though
Might be a bit of a stretch, but I'd say that Clove's abilities all revolve around life somehow. She can use her smoke whether she's alive or not (E), she can take life away (Q), she can "absorb" life (C) and she can bring herself back to life (X).
Can you get 7 kills, if sage ults Clove and then, after Clove dies, Clove ults herself?
So clove can get a speed buff as an Ability, but Phoenix can’t get one as a part of his ult?????
She is kinda overpowered, Like a mix of Pheonix, Omen, and Neon. I can see the meta changing so that every team has a Clove, which i hope they can nerf her somehow (like no regenerating smokes when dead)

what if the attacking team gets eliminated but clove gets killed last and has their ult and could still plant. does the round then not end when clove dies?
