Im really thrilled at stumbling across your channel! My cousin is religious (lutheran christian) and loves fantasy, but her family is very picky about what magic is okay magic per their interpretation. So having NO MAGIC fantasy listed out so clearly here is perfect for her. She also doesnt read (per her own preference) the same things as you! You have a wonderful aestetic reading journal that was pleasant to watch for me!
Thank you so so much! Yes non-magical fantasy will always be my preference goal with other content restrictions as well! I try my best to vet books beforehand. So happy to have you here and your cousin’s interest! I’ll be sharing my October TBR video soon too.
It doesn’t. Nowhere do i lump magical content against clean content. In the note I disclaim before I go into the fall TBR, I don’t lump non-magical in reference to clean content. I lump no sexual content, non-graphic to zero violence, and mild to zero language with clean content. And then I add that I don’t want to read books with content that go against my beliefs. Non-magical is just a sub genre of fantasy that I have a preference for. I prefer to read fantasies that don’t have magic in them if I’m going to read fantasies at all and so I made sure to note that in the slides for each fantasy I shared for those who feel similarly. Hope that helps!
@@perceivegrace thanks for the explanation. I think that’s where i became confused. how does magic go against your beliefs? Is it to do with Christianity? I am genuinely trying to understand ☺️
I was really curious about this as well, no shade at all. This is the first I’ve heard of no magic fantasy (which means I’ve a whole genre to look into now!).
