We absolutely loved Dubrovnik, but stayed within the walls of Old Town, up one of those alleys. It was small but wonderful. That way we didn't have to walk or drive and could eat like the locals. Walked the wall in the early AM before cruisers got there and it was still early enough to be cool. We were able to do a self-guided GOT tour by following our A.D. daughter's guidance from NYC - we are avid fans. Did the cable car up the mountain for lunch and wine outside and saw where the enemy rained down terror on the inhabitants. All those bright red roofs are the new replacements - the price of freedom. July and August are the hotest months and we like to eat outside without AC. The locals speak perfect English and are very welcoming and super friendly. Used Rick Steve's book to help with finding accommodation, restaurants and the almost hidden Hole in the Wall bars. I believe there are 3 and so much fun to watch the young people jump off the rocks. We spent 3 weeks driving around the country - my husband's father is from Croatia and still has relatives living there or have moved back.
Just came back from Croatia V were on a family vacation Honestly very sad cos I didn’t want to come back And I saw most of the places I visited in this video and already remembering the trip
As usual every frame a picture postcard .Great filming SM ! Blue skies and sea , great beaches and you've got the recipe for the international destination . Dubrovnik however could be heading the way of Venice .Until then eat, drink and make merry .
Next time in Croatia if you really want to experience our coast, try to rent a house in a less tourist filled place or island! That is the real way to experience the beauty and nature here. I have a house on one such island here and there is no money in the world that would get me to sell it. I mean that serious as a footballer's heart attack!
@@SuitcaseMonkey Island villages in Šibenik archipelago like Žirje, Kaprije, Zlarin, Prvić Šepurine and Prvić Luka (a birthplace of August Vrančić who invented parachute among many other inventions) Brijuni, Kornati Archipelago etc. Coastally I would visit Split for Diocletian's Palace, Pula for it's Colosseum (mini version of the Rome one) Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, ranks among the oldest cities in Central Europe It's historical city core almost 1000 years old. All of the bigger cities inland have different local cuisine that is worth experiencing, especially If you like meat and seafood. There are also many castles and ruins through Croatia if you are into that. Island hopping is the most fun for me because there are literally more then 1000 islands in Croatia's coast to explore, and if you are into diving then You could spend a lifetime exploring Croatia which many of us locals do 😁
Informative video, keep it up. I wonder why so little views, it deserves more. Promote your videos in Indian forum, see the views will hit a million. Meanwhile let me know how to travel from Croatia to Italy .
Callum Moulstone it was very good. I’ve done a full video for everything you need to know about staying there. It’s linked to this video as a card. Click the i to see
Can't see the point in a 3 day holiday. Is that even classed as a holiday? Break? Whatever you want to call it.. 3 days isn't enough. You want to be somewhere long enough that you start to miss home and you look forward to coming back. 3 days would be depressing knowing I've not even started the holiday yet and I'm on the way back. Wouldn't need to pack anything for 3 days.
Everything on this channel is shot on iPhone. This was 6S. I upgrade every year. If you’re looking for high level DSLR videography this isn’t what this channel is about I’m afraid.
@@SuitcaseMonkey yeah. You make videos well. Love the british accent too. But bad quality camera not clear vids. Could have been perfect vids if u use high end cams
Interesting. That’s the first I’ve heard that after 1.5 million views. I often get comments of people asking me what camera I’m asking, thinking it’s a DSLR. Ultimately I’m on holiday when I make these videos so having to think and carry more than beyond pressing a red record button is about my limit. And personally I’m really happy with the outcome. Each to their own I guess.
@@SuitcaseMonkey I'm heading to Dubrovnik next week. I think your vids are great and have encouraged me to shoot more video, rather then all stills. Thanks for the great overview!

Haha. Got bored with GoT in season 3 😳😜
Fabulous video...
Awesome video, very inspirational. If we create this kind of video we will tag you for inspiration. Love it!
Nice !

Hi , what did you use to edit your vlog? Great video !
Hi there! Thanks! I use Final Cut Pro.
Hi, did you travel via a tour company? I think in Finland you had JEE travels. Please let me know.
Oh you missed many nice places, was hoping to see something I forgot to have a reason to go back.
Hopefully not everything fitted in the video.

Heading to Dubrovnik for a week in May - did you guys find eating out and activities expensive?
Hey. I wouldn’t say it was expensive, nor cheap so somewhere in the middle.
Hazel Denieffe me too!
Would you guys reccomend anywhere yo eat?
Hazel Denieffe yes definitely expensive during summer ...
it's Adriatic sea not ocean 🤣
kokosova livada 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Heheh yeah not ocean..this is one and only sea.,😁👌This is my city.
ADRIATIC SEA IS SEA, NOT OCEAN
@@visnjalivancic8627 Ma oni zovu sve ocean.. ne shvaćaju razliku...
Do they have McDonalds there ? Can their money be changed back to euro ?
travelvideos yes they have and their mmey can be changed in euro bit not at every store
There's no mc Donald's in Dubrovnik

Do you have any information on the half day island hopping tours ?
Hi. We do one in this video at the end. We bought it from a vendor on the street.
What time of year was this?
I think June. I believe I wrote the month in the description
during what month were you there?
July
How much was the half day trip?
Hi. Sorry. It was a couple of years ago now but I remember it was a reasonable price that included lunch. I would definitely recommend it for value.
2:47 Served you burnt toast
Can you share the price of meals and hotels?
i seem to remember Dubrovnik getting mortared in the Yugoslav civil war? Am I wrong in this?
I’m no history expert but I remember it going through some war in the not too distant past. It’s done a great job recouping.
It got bombed on December 6, 1991.
@I Jones Too bad there was precious little outrage about Vukovar
You missed island of Lokrum there, shame on you, That’s must...
Yes. Shame is definitely on me for how I choose to spend my time on holiday.
