Chickens are henlarious, pun. But roosters can be dangerous if you aren't ready, or if you are new to them. A friend of mine has owned a few chickens for a long while and on one early morning, her one rooster spurred her and really gashed her leg with his talons even though she was the only person he liked. Sadly, he will be soup soon, but her husband has respected her care for this little dude even though she is the only one who can get close to him. Get a few chickens if you can. They are amazing.
It would have been hilarious if when Nef asked for a kiss and the main character agreed, Nef would have acted taken aback and said, "I'm not gay." Like he was just hitting on the main character for the laughs and not for real.
Loved the story, very unique premise and while handling some very serious themes and occurrences still managed to have a perfect amount of quirkiness and cute humor. Great work to the author and wonderful narration by Jordan. Thanks for the entertainment! 👍♥️
The first time I commented I was responding to the out and out humour of the story, on listening again I was struck by the sheer power and depth of it. Necromancy, one of my favorite practices found in myths, fantasy and even history, for a concept older than many religions it doesn't catch the spotlight much, but this story handled it beautifully, the casters story, his morals yet pained sense of justice, the price he paid seeking closure, I was almost brought to tears by the end of it, god I hope we get a sequel, to hear what his life has become now that hes disappeared, and maybe by then... our detective wont be so green 😂

I thought it was "nicto" but I haven't seen "The Day The Earth Stood Still" for a long time so I may be wrong. I liked the original version with Michael Rennie not the Keanu Reeves one.

I think this story is connected to another one. I remember the wolf from a different story that was super shy and would make people go to sleep if seen and with the same eye symbol. If it is connected, then Nef isn't "gay" in a traditional human sense. Demons and monsters in the lore express love in a much different way and it's a super powerful emotion, so they don't share it with just anyone. I can't remember the name of the other story, but it has monsters that were a bunch of humans wearing suits, but transformed into a giant centipede type monster.
