This is an Oklahoma Sooners highlight video of them playing the Texas Longhorns on October 8, 2011. This game was played in Dallas, Texas. Thank you for watching!
Best coach Texas ever had? Darrell Royal. Where was he from? Oklahoma. Where did he play college football? The University of Oklahoma. Who was his coach? Bud Wilkinson. 'Nuff said.
The best performance I have EVER seen from a Venables coached defense. They played with absolute fire that day. The big question is what will it take for that to happen EVERY game?
I could not stop smiling today after that performance by the Sooners. That is the kind of ball I am expecting them to play the rest of the year, and as far as Texas' OC goes. I think Brent put it best "Remember the Fiesta Bowl? OU sure did
@BrianDawkins10 Who still leads the series? wait a minuet how about Who has more Championships? Oh yeah, That's right... Oklahoma. Texas may lead the series OU vs Texas, but seriously I'll take championships over beating Texas any time. Oklahoma Beat Texas 55 to 17 I think that speaks for its self. BOOMER SOONER!
one last thing a quote by Travis Haney about bob stoops. "The seven Big 12 titles in 12 seasons is simply jaw-dropping. Consider that Mack Brown has won just two in one more season at Texas."
I live out here in Texas near Ft. Worth, I'll tell you this rivalry is awesome (not as awesome as the Iron bowl :)) but the whole area feels like a family, the atmosphere in the stadium is electric, the fans are rapid, and the teams are so pumped. I will say this though, Longhorn fans, you need to represent yourselves better by staying for the whole game regardless of the outcome and the margin of victory. Mad respect to OU and Texas though.
I was so pissed. I was at the game and had the dvr recording it back home. Bad storms came and messed up my satellite signal, but I was on Gameday and met Erin Andrews, and the Sooners whooped some longhorn ass. BOOMER!
Trey Millard Missouri, Frank Alexzander Lousiana, Tony Jefferson California Ronnel Lewis Oklahoma, Whaley Oklahoma. Austin Heywood Oklahoma, tress Way Tulsa... There are many more than this.
@hogetta100 Here is a list of some of our big playmakers, Ryan Broyles-Oklahoma Landry Jones-New Mexico Dom Whaley-Oklahoma Roy Finch- Florida Kenny Stills-California Trent Ratteree-Oklahoma Trey Millard-Missouri James Hanna-Texas Jaz Reynolds-Texas These are the offensive playmakers. But it doesn't really matter where they are from. Texas got that ass beat by OKLAHOMA.
I find it funny that Colt Mccoy and Jordan Shipley were considered to be one of the best QB WR duos for Texas and after they left people expected their younger brothers to be the same......that never happened.
Ok, 5 months and a day til September and football starts again. I guess I can keep watching this, it always brings a smile to my face :) Its a good thing Texas didn't play OSU this year, it would have been really embarrassing to get clown stomped by two Oklahoma teams. I guess when they say everything is bigger in Texas is true, when Texas loses they lose big!
All bullshit aside I actually like the sooners. Of course I will root for the Longhorns, Aggies, and Red Raiders first because the largest portion of their rosters are Texans, but the sooners are up there as well for the same reason. More than half their roster are Texans. I am also glad oklahoma recruits from Texas. It makes it more competitive. Could you imagine if teams could recruit from only within their state? I guess it would be the Longhorns vs the Aggies for the championship every year.
The fact is that OU has won the last two meetings. OU really blew TX out of the water in 2011. Another season is coming up, and we'll see who is the better team, again, yeah? Go BOOMER SOONERS! Both teams are good teams - but of course each of the opposing fans believe their team is better - we'll see this year !
@KoldSerial580 One other thing is that while OU does have some youth, their youth is complemented by older experience - Stills/Broyles is a great example. When L. Jones was young, he got beat soundly by Texas. It was a great win for OU - a great team. Congrats and get ready for next year - Texas will be back my friend...
just go search most prestigious schools in the big 12 and read it, and i dont know if you know the geographical size of Texas compared to Oklahoma, but id hope it has more to offer. and no i didnt graduate from Oklahoma, im going to Tech this next semester. i agree its more than a rivalry of universities. its a surge of dominance that oklahoma has reigned supreme the last two years and many more to come. best of luck with case this year my fellow texan.
Oklahoma only claims national titles in which the team actually played in the national title game, which is why they only claim 7 titles. And ESPN did name OU as the #1 most prestigous football program of all time.
Ohh how sweet of a victory this was. Every big hit, every turnover, every score just made the Bevo burger I was eating 100 times better. But, as great a win as this game is, I hope we play like this all year. Damn that defense is just punishing.
Historically speaking, the United States helped fund and train the Texas Army and basically used Texas as a buffer zone from Mexico as tensions between the two nations was at a boiling point. Also historically speaking, OU is a much better football program. I was born in Houston and moved to Oklahoma when I was young and was raised an OU fan. I attend OU and my Grandma went to UT and she has told me that UT isnt what it used to be. She is proud I chose OU over UT. Just saying.
Um, as someone else stated, 4 of the 5 Heisman winners from OU were from Oklahoma. Lets see who is from OK right now: Kendal Thompson, Sterling Shepard, Stanvon Taylor, Aaron Colvin, Gabe Lynn. Colvin and Lynn aught to be familiar to Texas fans, considering they helped curb stomp the Longhorns the last 3 years running.
@KJfever OU recruits from all across the country, and while a majority of its roster may be from Oklahoma and Texas, It's one of the very few schools that can recruit from Florida AND California. So if you are implying that Oklahoma needs Texas recruits to win, the facts say otherwise. But still, thanks for the talent.
@KoldSerial580 What's their excuse for last year? All the guys you listed were freshmen last year and we still won, sounds like a recruiting problem to me for Texas.
Really?? I think it's sad that UT can only recruit in Texas. OU takes pride that we get players from all around the country, including Florida, California, and the Midwest. Most of OU's best players are not from Texas. Demarco Murray, Sam Bradford, Landry Jones, Dominuque Whaley, Kenny Stills, Ryan Broyles, and so on. Without OU, Texas might actually know what the goal line looks like.
@KoldSerial580 OU is young, you are right my friend. I would mention though that you are not "young" and inexperienced in the positions that matter the most. Quarterback. Texas has a Freshman receiver, a Freshman Running back, a Freshman quarterback and another quarterback who is a sophmore who is only playing because the Freshman is wet behind the ears. Both teams are young, but Texas is young at KEY positions and OU is young but EXPERIENCED at KEY positions. That all equals blow out.
Im an OU fan and have been since the age of 3, but damn some of you all give OU a bad name by being so damn ignorant, just shut up about Texas and just keep focusing on the rest of the season, Texas fans are tired of this and so are Oklahoma fans. I swear some of yall are so ignorant, not everyone, just the trolls on youtube.
ESPN rated OU the most Prestigious Program since WW2. And where does it matter where the athletes come from. If anything you complimented the school. Players would rather leave their home states to come play at OU than stay where they are. Now you are getting into an argument over Oklahoma/Texas the states. Texas is a massive state that has cities with more population than all of Oklahoma. So yeah they will get players from there from sheer numbers. But that does not discount their success.
Actually, OU owns the better win percentage now at .715 and texas has a .714. If you don't believe me, look it up on wikipedia. THe only reason has more wins over all is because Texas started playing football a few years before Oklahoma did. Norman will always be better than Austin. At least Norman doesn't look like it was over run by Mexico.
Did he mention anywhere about the people in Austin? You implyed something about race with the "reservations" remark. So yes, I have the audacity to talk about your fanbase, because for one if you were smart enough there is not reservations anywhere near oklahoma. Understand? You have a nice day. :) I respect the Longhorns.
Oh I forgot, you guys have 7 National Championships? Or a 47 game winning streak? OU was rated ahead of Texas on the most prestigious college football programs since WWII. So saying that it was because Texas is a better football program is a REAL good argument. And you keep saying that OKLAHOMA was the one that decided to carry out the land run, when in all reality it was the US Government. Oklahoma wasn't even a state in 1889. Get your facts straight.
No hang up at all. Like I said I actually like Oklahoma. I just get a kick out of listening to their fans rant and rave about how good their team is and how much they hate Texas. It's kind of ironic how you could hate a state so much, but love the players that come out of it. Oklahoma has 46 players from Texas. Oklahoma state has 66. To you it's Oklahoma vs Texas, but to me it's Texas vs Texas.
@KoldSerial580 Absolutely. I know it's already been said, but it's about which positions are young. Incidentally, if you look at the starters for both teams, Texas is BY FAR the younger team. I agree with you that I wish the announcers wouldn't make excuses for them, but I disagree that comparatively the teams were equal. You won, relish in it, do what you will, but you don't have to make OU "equal" for it to be a great win. I had OU winning the NC before and still do! Hook 'Em

@JETX25 Why does everyone use that excuse you do realise OUs Starting roster has players from all around the country. Its college not high school this is a NATIONAL game not just state so saying OU isnt good because they out recruit texas in there own state is silly. OU recruits nationally not just locally you need to know what youre talking about before you say anything about it. Landry Jones New mexico Ryan Broyels Oklahoma Kenny Stills California, Roy Finch Florida, Brenaan Clay California...
@freakofebag Actually, OU has yet to win a national title with more Texas players than Oklahoma players... If they had won in 08 that would have been the first team to ever have more out of state players than in state and win a a title. Not sure what the stats look like this year, but I am sure this year would break the trend as well.

and now its back

I watched this this game from FOB Kalagush, Afghanistan. This helped our Morale. Thank you Sooner Nation for supporting us ( US Military ).

The best performance I have EVER seen from a Venables coached defense. They played with absolute fire that day. The big question is what will it take for that to happen EVERY game?
I haven't seen venables this pumped since we played tech in '08. Loved every second of this game today. BOOMER!
What I wouldn't give for a defensive outing like that this weekend by the Sooners!
instaBlaster...
I could not stop smiling today after that performance by the Sooners. That is the kind of ball I am expecting them to play the rest of the year, and as far as Texas' OC goes. I think Brent put it best "Remember the Fiesta Bowl? OU sure did
You have the best OU vids around man.
awesome stuff as always. look forward to this every week!
Loved it when we hung 50 or so and Brent calling the game.
dude i love these videos. i couldn't watch the tulsa game last week and by sunday the highlights were already up. well done.
@BrianDawkins10 Who still leads the series? wait a minuet how about Who has more Championships? Oh yeah, That's right... Oklahoma. Texas may lead the series OU vs Texas, but seriously I'll take championships over beating Texas any time.
Oklahoma Beat Texas 55 to 17 I think that speaks for its self.

one last thing a quote by Travis Haney about bob stoops. "The seven Big 12 titles in 12 seasons is simply jaw-dropping. Consider that Mack Brown has won just two in one more season at Texas."
Excellent Quality! What r u using to make your videos?

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your videos. Simply the best!!!!
This reminds me of that famous saying from the commentator in the 2003 Red River Rivalry. "And the eyes of Texas, HAVE BEEN BLACKENED!"
Wasn't 03 that was in the 2000 game
1. Mute the sound
2. Open a new tab
3. Go on youtube and put on ACDC- Shoot to Thrill
4. Play this video
5. Awesomeness.
Where can you watch the full game at..?? I missed it had to work...
Oklahoma isn't a joke, game had me crying🤣🤣🤣
Was really impressed with our O line, even without Ben Habern we did great.
@Soonerborn18
How does it feel to cheer for The University of Texas at Norman?
The "Eyes of Texas" are crying and that's a very good thing.
♥BOOMER SOONER♥
Man if we played like this all season, we would've most definitely gotten to the NCG.
@hogetta100 Here is a list of some of our big playmakers,
Ryan Broyles-Oklahoma
Landry Jones-New Mexico
Dom Whaley-Oklahoma
Roy Finch- Florida
Kenny Stills-California

These are the offensive playmakers.

I find it funny that Colt Mccoy and Jordan Shipley were considered to be one of the best QB WR duos for Texas and after they left people expected their younger brothers to be the same......that never happened.

@bsiffy Like last year when OU won the big 12 championship and a bcs bowl?
@Airjordans2011 Hey budy, did you forget what OU is ranked compared to the rest of the Texas teams?

@DippedNcheese
Pretty sure we won 55-17..idk, I could be wrong...will you remind me who beat texas 55-17?
This is 11:21 long. If you had done one for the Longhorns, it'd be about 1:21 long.
How many super bowls and NBA championships do you have?;)
well you can’t win super bowl if you don’t have a football team and we only have the thunder for 11 years and we made 4 wcf 1 nba finals boomer sooner

I respect the Longhorns.
@KoldSerial580 exactly. and when we were even younger last year we beat texas anyway.
Oh look Oklahoma running up the score on a team that already gave up, what a surprise.
Yeah, and where did they go? OU. Doesn't matter where a player is from, once they hit the campus in Norman, they are Sooners.
