Printify cannot use funds your customers have spent on a separate sale platform. They buy from you and you buy your products from us, so you must have a balance in your account to cover new orders. However, Printify will only charge you once the order is sent to production. If no funds are available, the order will stay on hold.
Hi! This depends where you are selling. Some platforms, like Etsy, will collect sales tax on your behalf. However, if you're selling on a standalone platform like Shopify, you'll be required to collect. In the EU, VAT is also required at each stage of the transaction. You can read up more about taxes in our help center help.printify.com/hc/en-us/categories/4471600571153-Payments-Billing-Taxes
Hello, I'm sorry, there is something I don't understand. If the cost of production and shipping is paid by the buyer, I don't understand how I can possibly make a loss even if I set a profit of 3 dollars per product. In any case, haven't I already earned 3 dollars? Are you suggesting that I need to make my profit margin at least 40 percent in order not to make a loss? If the cost of production and shipping is paid by the buyer, am I likely to make a loss even if I have a profit margin of at least 40 percent? Thank you.
Hey! Keep in mind that your profit margin should also include other potential costs besides production and shipping. This could be things like sales platform fees, transaction fees, marketing/ads, design fees, and more.
Hi Printify I'm looking to start selling using Printify but I'm wondering it wants a business name do I need to have an LLC for it???Or can I just create any business name of my choice.
Hi there ! You can, but it will not be tax-exempted. Printify charges sales tax for all orders going to the US where we are registered to collect and remit sales tax. In order to have an exemption, you would need submit a resale certificate, and for you would need to have an LLC in some states. Here's a great article where you can learn more: printify.com/blog/understanding-sales-tax-with-printify/ - Talish
Hi there, Good question- designs uploaded to the mockup generator will save in your library in your Printify account. If the design is created within the mockup generator and you want to use that same design on multiple products, we recommend saving it as a template ruclips.net/video/ihlBc6DKurk/видео.html&ab_channel=Printify.
Hi there! The payment received by your store for an order includes the product retail price (production price + profit) and the shipping fee. Once the order is received on your sales channel, it is automatically imported into Printify and sent to production based on your order approval settings. However, as Printify can’t directly withdraw funds from your sales channel, the production price of the product and its shipping fee are charged to your linked credit/debit card or your Printify balance. To sum it up: your customers buy from you, and you buy from us. However, the Printify Pop-Up Store is different from our other sales channel integrations because you won’t be charged for any products. Printify takes care of payment processing, printing, shipping, and customer support while transferring your earnings to your PayPal account.
Hi there! This article should provide more clarity about how shipping costs are applied to items: help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/4483643971473-How-are-shipping-costs-calculated-for-multiple-items
All my products were published and on my Shopify store. And even had a few orders. I designed a new product today and saved it and then I see all my products are all the sudden "unpublished". What is going on with that? Thank you
Hi there! Your store and products could become unavailable if you were using a free trial (without selecting a payment plan), and it has expired. There may also be other reasons associated with Shopify. Log in to your Shopify account to check what is the status of the store. If you were using a free trial, proceed by picking a Shopify payment plan and adding a payment method. If you had already picked a Shopify plan and added a payment method, and yet the store appears to be unavailable, reach out to Shopify support for further assistance. Another reason could be if your daily variant publishing limit has been exceeded. Once your store reaches a total of 50,000 published variants, a rate limit takes effect. Once it does, there is a limit of 1000 variants created per day. This can result in a failed publishing attempt on Printify side in case the product happens to exceed this number of variants. In order to get rid of this limit, you can upgrade to the Shopify plus plan.
Hello! I just set up my first product on printify (selling in on wix) 2 of my friends (in different countries - UK and switzerland) tried to buy it with credit card method. but they both get an error message saying "the payment method doesn't support the currency of the product or service" what does it mean and do you know what to do to fix this? the product is a mug, set in euros, my account has a credit card linked (currency CHF and EU) and my account is set in EU too. the mug is produced in USA could that be the issue? (not available in any other country) How to set up this and future products to sell world wide? thanks
Hi Nathalie, The payment for the products on the Printify side comes from your payment method, not your customers. Their payment would go through the sales channel (Wix in your case). So, if your customers are seeing the error, it may be worth reaching out to their support team. If you see the error in your Printify account, please do reach out to our support team so they can investigate it further.
Hey Carrie! That's a fantastic question, and we do have merchants who do that! It's possible to order them as samples and set up your products in your booth. We highly recommend joining our POD Rockstars facebook group (facebook.com/groups/printifypodrockstars) and search "market" within the group. Another person asked a similar question just yesterday and lots of other sellers had great ideas to share. :)
I placed a sample order from same printer - two tshirts and a hoodie. Shipping should not cost $15 when it’s coming inside a plastic bag. Is there not a discount for multiple items from same vendor?
Hi! Unfortunately, there's only a discount for multiple orders of the same item from the same vendor. So, you'd get a cheaper shipping price for the 2nd t-shirt from the same vendor, but the hoodie will be separate shipping. We try to give the best prices possible, but shipping prices right now are a challenge across the industry.
Hey Iben, We're sorry our support is taking a bit longer than we'd like. We're working around the clock to address all inquiries, so we really appreciate your patience. How much profit does a avarage seller make per product? I designed a hoodie and it said it would cost me 56€, i was wondering that it has to be very good quality if i would like to sell it for high price. This pretty much my only concern.
Hi there! It really varies as sellers are creating all sorts of different products with different designs at very different price points. We usually recommend a 40% profit margin when pricing items, which should be enough to cover fees and leave a profit.
Hey! We're consistently performing quality checks with our partners to ensure the highest standards! To see how your item looks with your design and the feel of it, we recommend ordering samples. This way you'll also be able to take custom mockup photos if you'd like. We also suggest joining our POD Rockstars Facebook group, facebook.com/groups/printifypodrockstars where other merchants review products. You can search for the specific hoodie you're looking to sell to see if there have been any product reviews. :)
Hi there! You can access order information: in the “Orders” tab, click on the order you’re interested in. Then click on the Details button below each individual product.

Hey Bob! That's a good question. Printers are usually pretty good at catching details- depends on the type of print and the product. Embroidery, for example, doesn't do so well with fine details. We don't have any specific measures that'll tell you if something is "too much detail", just if it'll have a low resolution. Our Design Guide may answer some of your questions printify.com/guide/design-guide/. We also recommend joining our Facebook community (POD Rockstars facebook.com/groups/printifypodrockstars) where members share their experiences with designing, tips, and even product reviews.

So, does that mean if you don't have funds to cover production and shipping out of pocket, the order can't be placed?
Printify cannot use funds your customers have spent on a separate sale platform. They buy from you and you buy your products from us, so you must have a balance in your account to cover new orders. Why does the customer pay shipping as well as the store owner?
