Thank you! You brought back memories and I was able to show the family where I worked while going to college. I earned my college money and skied while working as a waitress where you enjoyed your beverages. Haven’t seen that place in 20+ years.

After the Bigelows, it's all downhill. Well, not really, but it feels like it, especially if you're with a group, sharing gear and food weight. I hiked the Hundreds Mile Wilderness alone, carrying food for the whole thing, and after day three, l don't remember struggling with the rest of the Trail, except for Katahdin, of course. If you stay at Little Bigelow Shelter, visit "The Tubs" and soak the pain out of your body, especially if the weather is hot. Pierce Pond Shelter, just before the Kennebec River is one of my favorite spots on trail in Maine. Great swimming off of a big rock slab. When the sun's out the rock is warm, even if the water is cold (seasonally, of course). Maine is a great swimming place, but beware of leeches. 🤤
My favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream is cherry Garcia ! Congrats on 2000 miles. On to the 100 mile wilderness!

Great music selection... Made me think of John Denver. I've determined I'd rather be Granger and Slider if only because of the size of their back packs..LOL I had thought Raptor and S>A>M> were together, but maybe are just trail family. Otherwise they both would be celebrating 2000 miles. The smiles on everyone's faces made the vlog. I can see you two opening a hostel just like that one.
The trail is getting a lot more "civilized" That cracks me up, seeing you are in the 100 mile wilderness soon. Enjoy civilization while you can...

My wife loves your videos, because you do more than just talk. You show flowers and critters! BTW, what shirt does your husband and the other man hiking with you wear? I'm trying to find a durable hiking shirt.
Slider is sporting a Smartwool t-shirt, while Raptor is looking fresh in an Arcteryx shirt.
Durability is a nice feature, but the odor suppression of Merino wool is wonderful.

Great job! I noticed you put 1415 miles at the end of the video, what part are you missing? I think I remember you both flipping forward. Do you plan on going back this year to complete the missing portion?
I believe Virginia.... they have hiked it numerous times and because of Covid they leapfrogged that section knowing Maine gets cold fast and Baxter State Park usually ends hiking Katahdin by Oct 15. They then intend to finish the hike by doing Virginia last. Yet with Covid who knows if they will be able to. Some States are shutting down once again.
