Nice to see a 250 2T get some attention! I think they are the most under-rated bike living tin the shadow of their 300 brothers! LIghter feel, less heat-overheating, better MPG, more fun and lively feel , better handling! revy power with that race feel, 250's rock!!!
I have not ridden the 24 250 (or 350) XCF with the all new closed cartridge spring forks - very curious to see how those work out of the box. You know if I get to spin some laps on one I will post a video right away. I did do a 23 250/350SXF back to back at Grear MX.. ruclips.net/video/wLy78Tudurg/видео.html Here is a ride on a 22.5 KTM 250 Factory Edition which is very similar (engine same and a 5-speed transmission vs 6-speed on the 250XCF) to a '23 250XCF.. ruclips.net/video/ix-LQiLQB24/видео.html
The engines are the same parts (for 24 model year) however the TE250 has about 7~8 less hp - tuned more for off road and smoother power. The TE comes with a 190 watt (I think) alternator to power the lights (I think the TC250 is about 70 watts). The TE250 has spring cartridge forks while the TC comes with AER (air) forks. The frames were the same for 24 model year. For 25 model year the TC250 has the updated more compliant frame while the TE still has the 24 frame. The TC250 comes with Brembo brakes and clutch while TE has BrakTek. Kick stand, o-ring chain, 18" rear wheel are also some other differences along with tires.
I saw a bone stock TC250 dyno 52 HP at the rear wheel. These machines are putting out more top end HP than the 300 2 strokes. It’s madness! Especially the Husky TC. INSANE HP on these. This could easily compete with 450 bikes probably.
MXA says 52hp at the rear wheel for the 250SX and 55hp for the 300SX....these bikes make some big power and with the electronically controlled power valve have linear power with great partial throttle torque response.
@@mxengineer1 Hey I'm riding a buddie's 2023 TE250 tomorrow. What's the difference between a TC250 and a TE250? I see they are quite a bit different in price. I'm guessing the TE has more tech and is equipped to be street legal from the factory? Thanks! Really looking for a bike to do better single track as well as all around fun with. My 04 KTM 450MXC is just a HOSS 😂
@@nickadkins7765 I've noted the differences in another response but power/suspension/electrics/wheels are big differences between a TC250 and TE250. TE250 is off road/woods focused while TC250 is full on moto. Both fun bikes and will be interesting to hear your comments after riding the TE250 especially after coming off a 2004 450MXC!
Sounds crisp! not easy to ride on that dry hard park. KTM/Husky seems to have perfected the 2 stroke. my advice is cover a lot of that plastic with stickers or clear tape.
Yes KTM/Husky seem to be dialing in these new 250/300 TBI engines. Plenty of smooth linear power that is fun to ride. The smoothness of the chassis and suspension really stood out to me on this bike
The next time I see my buddy James at Grear MX with his '24 TC250 and I have my 23 TX300 I will do a back to back. What stood out to me on the 24 TC250 was the reactive feeling chassis - a tick quicker steering feel compared to my TX300. I think that was a combination of the lower inertia of 250cc piston and the slightly lower chassis setting. The 300 TBI engine has a little stronger roll on and partial throttle torque feel. Both fun bikes!
I’m currently riding a 2022 YZ450F that I’ve revalved and resprung to ride in the woods. I like the semi close ratio transmission. I have the opportunity to purchase either a new YZ450F or a new 2023 KTM 450SXF FE which I would probably put in 6500’s or the KYB conversion. If you were to choose one bike to purchase, what would you choose?
The 23 YZ450F has such a quick revving and responsive engine - faster than your 22 YZ450F (23 clutch is 1.5 lbs lighter). The new '23 YZ450 chassis traded some stability for a quicker turning. If you like the 22 YZ450 engine and chassis character the '23 YZ450 will feel lighter and more responsive to throttle and handling inputs. The 23 KTM 450FE might have the most rider friendly easy to ride 60hp 450 engine available today. The new chassis is a great combination of cornering and stability. With WP 6500 spring inserts or KYB spring insert the forks the 23 450FE will be very fun, even in the woods. Had some fun on my 23 450FE this past weekend.. ruclips.net/video/SH_dYCBbD1Y/видео.html
I really want to ride a 23/24 Beta 300RX and see how much different the engine feels with the 38mm carb and different ignition timing...perhaps a little stronger/barkier power than my 23 300RE?
So many factors go into a beginning rider bike choice decision. Best to discuss with knowledgeable riders (friends or associates at local dealerships) and consider what they recommend based on your riding skills and background. This Husky TC250 makes about 52hp at the rear wheel according to Motocross Action Magazine test report - that is a lot of power for a beginning rider!
Yes - the new KTM shrouds go to a point way out in front of the bike and combined with the new really wide front fender just gives a different visual from the saddle - like the KTM is bigger and wider. The Husky shrouds are smaller and shorter and combined with the smaller and thinner from fender give Husky a slimmer and lighter feel from the saddle. Just my preference!
interesting you had it hotter map, it sounds very smooth. I know you're not wrapping the throttle. Wondering how it would go as a light, tight single, woods bike??@@mxengineer1
@@learningtofly6804 The new 250/300 TBI engines in the TC/TX models have really good partial throttle torque (electronic power valve helps here) and make great "woods" bikes. So sad that they fucked up the ECU‘s on these guess there will be a lot of switching out units for 24 hopefully 25 will have a fixed up version. These are the ECU‘s that are in metal + weird connector or not?
2-stroke electronic fuel injection seems to be very challenging. Injection every stroke, port timing, electronically controlled power valve...even water hitting the expansion chamber can effect the flow of fuel/gas mix through the cylinder. Seems like it took about 2 years to get the TPI production bikes working well so maybe the 25 model year TBI bikes will be dialed? Hopefully KTM/Husky/GG keep offering updated EFI maps on current models.
@@mxengineer1 From a settings standpoint it doesn’t seem to be so advanced, a lot of learning settings but here to say i would not know what wants to be set there. MY25 will not be any major update as far as i know.
