I have played this game so many times since I was a kid and I always thought this games sound track was one of the best in the history of gaming. It's so haunting intricate and deep for a 16 bit game. Plus the baselines are phenomenal.
No doubt I used to loose sleep for a week or two at a time contemplating these levels... to see the whole playthrough is just 2 in a half hours long is brutal XD😮
1:46:46 Those globes were my NIGHTMARE as a kid. One of them killed me in a kind of jumpscare, and I refused to play these levels after that. I just used cheat codes to skip the level, lol.
I remember completing this as a child... but how ridiculous on the 2and stage with them crystal things... I never knew to do that... as I used to just charge/force ecco into the rocks to get past.
@@jamessparkman6604 First off, why are you asking me of all people? But, to answer your question, there is no prehistoric level in Tides of Time, I believe. Ecco only travels to the future in this game, not the past. But, the first game does have not just one, but several prehistoric levels. Starting with Level 17, Jurassic Beach.
I can never get past the stage where you fight to fight that eel snake like creature in the moral abyss stage i keep dying this game is a nightmare and I thought it was easier than its predecessor
According to Ed Annunziata, Ecco traveled back to the time that the Atlanteans escaped to, and the third game was going to be about Ecco helping them fight the Vortex. Also, the dolphin that asks you for a fish is actually Ecco from the future, and the third game was going to show how he got there.
How do you even change the difficulty. I hate how games like make the player work out EVERYTHING, even something as to change difficulty settings, let alone what to even do without the slightest clue.
How in hell is anyone supposed to know what to do!? They just throw you in the deep end (literally) and expect the player to work out what to do, with no clues or hints as to even know. Bloody stupid. Love the game though and it’s cool to be able to see this walkthrough at least but I would prefer no using walkthroughs just to play a Game. Like I’m on the level at 14 mins and challenging, wouldn’t even be there without looking at YT vids. This pisses me off about some of these games.
the music in this game is haunting
I had this game as a boy and I never played it because it spooked me. lol.
I agree,i mean the ecco series is the reason i fear the ocean
And at the same time so beautiful
I wish the music in this game was a liquid I could rub all over my body.

21:30 to 21:38 = Very slick move my friend!
Medusa: HAX!
Nice
Always was amazed with the Globe holder stage around 1H:53M...
I had to use cheats. I couldn't get through this or gravitorbox on my own. This thing kept on killing me.
this looks really easier when he's doing it

Yeah really… makes it look like an enjoyable swim in the ocean.😂

It looks like beach ball?

You had to use your sonar in rhythm to the music, it had to be "dislodged" by moving it back and forth.
I never got past the giant jellyfish without cheats. I was always disappointed we never got to play as Trellia, either.
Обожаю с детства эту игру , после школы очень часто играла только сяду и родители тут как тут давай выключай)))
Privyet
The music is insane
I never understood the "find the magic arm" thing. I just killed the weird alien and that was that
I much prefer this soundtrack to the sega cd version
Who wouldn't?
@@DoseOfAutism where is the prehistoric level?

Same. I'll never understand why some people prefer the generic, boring ambiance of the CD version over this dynamic soundtrack.
The Protheans were wiped out by the ancient Vortex. The Reapers.
1:16:22 - best music
Nah
2:08:23 there's always that third friend in the middle who is a complete troll =))
my goodness, the Orca has 9 kids in hard mode, that's amazing 👏 😅
ecco the dolphin is an awesome game series wish there were more

@@CopiousDoinksLLC Man, I'm still upset we never got a third game. Did he say what the Atlanteans looked like?
Such a fun and hard game.
I can't get the damn glyphs to move in the second level
I never even knew that they made a second
have you ever been copyright stricken / claimed for having the music in this video?
Hard mode, huh?
Anything to do with John C. Lilly?
Only the name.
Would have been nice to know this was done on HARD level!

this game got very disturbing near the end
What was the object of this game?
Defeat an old god race of aliens.
Is this more or less difficult than the first chapter?
ecco 2 is my more fair than the first one.
I really hated the orcas level in the hard game
Gj
Hey avgn play tides of time
This game is developed in California
