With how this show is made (plus Taylor Sheridan being executive producer) I think he’s supposed to be the “kayce” of this show, yk doing things differently
This episode was EPIC! Literally Peak TV. Between the lawyers scene at the beginning at the dinner scene near the end I was on the edge of my seat. Paulina Chavez, BBT and Taylor Sheridan all need to get Emmys. Great acting, I also like the more subtle touches, too. Like the Governor foreshadowing by saying things are predetermined by higher power. Also, the subtle use of lighting and music during the negotiation was a nice touch.
I loved this episode Ariana and Cooper are particularly interesting because, on the one hand, yes it’s moving pretty fast she just lost her husband and needs to mourn. But on the other, Cooper truly cares about her, and he just got justice for her husband and made her a millionaire in addition to the beating and everything else. So it’s a wild situation but I can hardly blame them for sticking together and I’m rooting for them. As for Monte and Cami, when the sting of this fades they should see the talent in cooper and hire him to be the protege. I love this show, it’s no piece of perfect writing like the sopranos, but damn it’s entertaining can’t wait for the next episode.
I feel like im none of the types of people this show panders to and yet every part of this show works on me lol. Can this show please keep delivering the same exact beat per storyline every episode infinitely forever please
I thot Tommy would lose his cool when he went to visit Cooper and Arianna, but he remained respectful. He did lose it when Rebecca told him she might go after Arianna to get revenge on Cooper. She's headed for a rattlesnake in the cooler like what Rip did in Yellowstone. The city slickers don't know Tommy and them play by a different set of rules. I hope Tommy just gives her a warning, and he just did.
Cooper and Ariana are supposed to be the star-crossed lovers to root for, but they rushed it too fast. Even though Ariana says not even her husband looks at her like Cooper does, it doesn't seem real, because we never saw that. They should have shown a little of that. And regarding Rebecca. I like Rebecca. (I was actually rooting for her and Tommy.) They should show more layers to her personality. But this show is about Tommy and his family. Wild and Wooly as they are, the show still does not know what to do with his wife and daughter. Taylor Sheridan can be brutal with his characters, and even though Rebecca's character has potential, I think she will end up as collateral damage. Lastly, Demi Moore's character will step out of the background soon and surprise everyone. She will be a force to be reckoned with.
Remind me how much the family’s are each getting? Enough to pay off her mortgage, bills for 2 decades and put the baby through college? Maybe I’m doing dumb math but college isn’t cheap these days and neither are houses anywhere. Can someone explain?
Well, thats just going to piss the cartel off even more. Also two predictions from the last episode thread came true: Demi Moore takes over and will likely become a bigger character in e9 and e10, and Rebecca is indeed out to make Cooper the fall guy.
That's how you get rid of the cartel. I said last week if Rebecca goes after Cooper. It will piss Tommy off. They would have settled for less. If she didn't go in acting like she had a pair of brass balls. Monty should have let Nate take care of it.
Yeah. Sure, mortgage and college. I doubt whatever is left over will cover bills for 20 years though. Thats a long time, and bills only increase in price.
Will the boom on the range end up embarrassing the Governor and the National Guard? Will it be the move that brings the cartel to the table? Tommy is not above paving over problems with money. That might be his go-to move.
Tommys great but just like all of Sheridans shows it doesnt pay to think too deeply about the plot . Eg Gold Digger wife leaves billionaire to live in a share house with the lads etc . But good for a laugh !
The Ariana and Cooper storyline is the most lame part of this entire show. I almost can’t tolerate any scene either are in. I especially don’t like Ariana’s character.
Nothing is more lame than the Ainsley storyline. I'd put Angela's storyline a close second. At least Ali Larter brings more acting talent to the role than Michelle Randolph does.
Personally I'm in the opposite direction, I was totally smitten with Ariana from the beginning & She is main reason I look forward to the show every week.I'm hoping She & Cooper make it permanent.Miss Chavez in fantastic in this role.
I absolutely did not expect to see Tommy kick Rebecca's chair in the cafe. That was funny as hell
Tommy kicking the chair out from underneath Rebecca was the cherry on top of their dialogue

I love how sweet and genuine Tommy is with her. He really shows her empathy.
Totally agree, & I'm really taken with response to Him. [ Of course, I'm totally smitten with Ariana so I might be prejudiced.]
Did Cooper just prove he could actually aspire to negotiate land deals some day?

It was a dud 🤮
I loved this episode

I puked in my mouth 🤢
I’m already bored. A man would have rode Ariana like a pony by now.

I definitely was waiting for the cartel was to kidnap Ainsley while she was swimming at the reservoir or Tommy after the pub in his truck
Same
Rebecca and Norris too much 🔥🔥🔥 burning there

Aren't firing ranges usually fenced off though, with warning signs posted every so often along the fence?
Somebody tell me where that sweater comes from Demi had on in the hospital!!!!😊
That's Courtney Cox lol
Comes from Taylor's home 😂😂😂

Why in the world would you have to explain the ending of Land Man, Episode8??
It's the easiest TV show in the world to follow!
Remind me how much the family’s are each getting? Enough to pay off her mortgage, bills for 2 decades and put the baby through college? Maybe I’m doing dumb math but college isn’t cheap these days and neither are houses anywhere. Can someone explain?
It was 250k each now it’s a 1 million.
Is the daughter ever going back to school? Or is she just going to miss the rest of the year and maybe going off to Tech?
Well, thats just going to piss the cartel off even more.

Not much Rebecca can do other than temper tantrums considering they signed the agreement. And now she’ll have to deal with Tommy…
I'm sure they would find partners.
I'm assuming this show is partially about Tommy finding his way back and he won't be able to do it by himself.

Does this mean Cooper will get the other families to be investors in an oil company with his Dad?
Yeah. Sure, mortgage and college. I doubt whatever is left over will cover bills for 20 years though. Thats a long time, and bills only increase in price.
It's better than nothing, and better than 400k
Will the boom on the range end up embarrassing the Governor and the National Guard? Will it be the move that brings the cartel to the table? Tommy is not above paving over problems with money. That might be his go-to move.
Is cartel/drug traffickers dying news worthy? Genuine question I'm not American
Tommys great but just like all of Sheridans shows it doesnt pay to think too deeply about the plot . Eg Gold Digger wife leaves billionaire to live in a share house with the lads etc . But good for a laugh !
Such bad writing!!!!!!!! He forgot their 401k! And their relationship is trashy

Nah the daughter's storyline is a waste of airtime
