These locks are among the most common locks in Denmark. Difficult enough to pick in a vice but even much more difficult in the field. These locks are mostly under double spring tension. Once from the locking bolt as well as from a spring attached to the door-handle operated bolt. Extremely difficult to find the right tension. - Any suggestion most welcome. B.t.w. Congrats for having opened tis one.
I'd be curious to see you pick an Ruko/Assa Abloy 1200/D12 as these are fast becoming the new normal in Scandinavia, taking over from the Ruko 600. I have them in my own apartment.
I have a door in my building that has no use and a Ruko cylinder... absolutely impossible for me. Im new to this aswell, and there was no chance. I cant even go in without a rake because there is a pin nr 4 that its impossible to move with the individual hook.
I'm from Scandinavia. Nearly all locks here are Ruko 6 pin locks. Even on padlocks and the like. Its our standard lock, where it only gets better... Pick a Ruko 1200 next. I dare you ;)
Those gin bottle spools gave me no end of nightmares in a Twin I picked. It's the first time I'd ever seen a spool/countermilling combination that gave absolutely no perceptible feedback when they got hung up. Just to test the limits, I hung it up, let completely go of the tension bar, grabbed an old pick and lifted it with enough force that the pick broke. I never got even the smallest amount of counterrotation. It was a thing to behold!
+tumbl3r I know what you mean. I have an assa 600 with these pins and the counter milled core, and it's one of the hardest combinations around. I think that assa took a step backwards when they switched spool styles and started with the "threaded" cores.
+LockPickingLawyer I don't blame you. I was like that with my Eagle padlocks but I just sent my last 1 out today. Just won 1 on Ebay last night. For some reason I just have something for Eagles.

Hold on to this one. I may have the new style drivers. If I do, I'll mail them to you so you can swap these out and get a real feel of their new style of anti pick protection. It's a big "may" but I'll take a look. Great work non the less.
Feral Woodcraft I was sharpening my Ontario SP8 that I've had since I was a kid (love that thing) before heading out to the mountains and I was watching a video on reprofiling the bevels... one of the suggested videos from there was a review you did of a Machete-ish knife (don't remember which). I liked the video and watched another of yours. I was on my third video before I actually looked at your logo and made the connection.
Thanks... I honestly don't know the proper name for the pins, but everyone else seems to call them "old style ASSA spools," so I called them the same. They definitely as not what I consider to be a T pin.
I have this on my front door, LPL picked this in 1:13 - So I guess it's time for an upgrade. But which oval RUKO cylinder lock is the best deplacement, not that I imagine it could stand up against the LPL in any stretch of the imagination. But What should I get???? I know the LPL probably will never see this comment, but I would love to have his input. So which oval RUKO cylinder lock should I pick (no pun intended). And I live in Denmark. I would hate to choose a different shape cylinder, as I then have to install a new lock case (is that the right word) the case you insert the oval RUKO cylinder lock. Maybe I should contact a locksmith, however I strongly believe they are not as professional as they pretend. (EDIT) time is 29.09.2021 so 5 years have passed
@@ChrisMokkel Hey Brother, nope still stuck with the oval RUKO, have not found any better than that yet.
Aah, the legendary Ruko. Nice. Would I be right in assuming that the older style 600 cylinder is a little tougher? I say that as you seemed to breeze through it seemingly without much trouble. Not that you breezing through a lock is unusual at all. :)
Can you let us know what style/type of pick you are using? I'm curious to see. I know everyone has their favorites. Scary good picking as usual. Thanks for the vid!
Wow, that's a nice lock with all these features and old-style ASSA drivers. I love these Ruko locks. Great picking on it. Do you know how ASSA and Ruko are (were) connected?
Sadly, probably better than over two thirds of the locks on the market today. Just avoid Master and Kwikset. LPL and Bosnian Bill say they're TERRIBLE.
Thanks. The vice I use is from Amazon... it works and was cheap, but I'm not terribly impressed with the build quality. Many pickers seem to like Panavice products, but I've never tried them.
The first thing I did after watching the old Bosnianbill's video on Ruko locks ruclips.net/video/8_rvEg3snSs/видео.html was going to your channel and searching for Ruko. According to Bill this one is one of the less resistant ones, have you ever picked DP or DP+ ones?
Joe Lock Picker, YOU will NEVER EVER come anywhere near this guy, don't even try. Your wasting Your time. He has a VERY VERY SPECIAL Gift. at this. Beat Hank Aarons Home Run record. Same League.

instaBlaster...
Some fine picking there! Someone just sent me a Ruko to play with... It doesn't want to play with me though. Tough lock.
+Lock Noob thanks... These can be tough, but this one wasn't too bad.
I have taken a couple hundres of theese apart to sort and reuse while working at a locksmith as a teen... Brings back memories... :)

I always like seeing these oval shaped locks. They really did't want anyone drilling into this thing...
The drill protection on the side was definitely unexpected... like they were protecting sidebars that aren't there.
Great oval cylinder. Great picking too. Thumbs up sir LPL.
Thanks.
Wow that was a another great job you always know what's going on in your locks it amazes me.
Thanks.
I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling! I'm new to the hobby and have been trying my luck with a Ruko for a while, but no joy 😐

I hear that Ruko has a war going on against lock picking, but you sure made it look easy. Informative also.
LOL at the BB reference. He is, of course, correct. But this is one of their easier locks.
It is a lock design from 1980´s

WOW! Fantastic picking, LPL. That's a very cool lock!
Thanks.

Good stuff, LPL. Skilful and methodological.
Thank you.
That is at the top of my list anything Ruko. Nice picking. I would love to have 1 day with the Ruko2 Bill had with the Christmas tree pins.
Thanks. These locks are pretty hard to find over here, and even in places they are available, they are expensive!
+LockPickingLawyer ya I'm hoping to trade with someone in the area that wouldn't mind sending me 1 for about 5 of my locks, lol.
Randy Perkins I look you up if I come across some, but right now I only have 2 or 3, and I'm holding them.

Very nice My Friend, ruko is very fun to pick

Don't worry about it. I have some, and plan to swap them out. Thanks though, and thanks again for the nice lock.
Great picking brother. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Another excellent one Sir! thanks!
Thanks... I spent some time on your channel a few days ago. Nice content!
Well thanks! It's a totally different genre then you here but I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by :)

Nice picking. The pins are T pins I think . I could be wrong tho. Anyways nice lock too. Thanks...

The more I go back in the video list the more the locks change genders during picking and gutting!
Some very sharp spools there, great picking as always!
Thanks
Sweet lock, pretty good picking as well😉😉😉😘👍🔐🔐🔓😎😎😎
Thanks.

I see you! Not that I can be at any help, what so ever. Hope you found yourself a new lock:)

This is even the low security one, garant plus is the top tier in ruko
Can you let us know what style/type of pick you are using? I'm curious to see. I know everyone has their favorites. Scary good picking as usual. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks. In this video, I'm using a Peterson standard (#1) hook. For open keyways, that's one of my go to picks.
Cool. Thank you!
You should show us the right way to drill out a lock too.
I'd like to see LPL pick the tapered version
Wow, that's a nice lock with all these features and old-style ASSA drivers. I love these Ruko locks. Great picking on it. Do you know how ASSA and Ruko are (were) connected?
Ruko is owned by Assa Abloy -- www.ruko.com/en/site/rukocom/about-ruko/assa-abloy/
Thank you.
The key is made by Errebi in Italy.
A decent lock from the 1980´s
Sadly, probably better than over two thirds of the locks on the market today. Just avoid Master and Kwikset. LPL and Bosnian Bill say they're TERRIBLE.
nice lil ruko.. btw @lockpickinglawyer, im looking for a vice, would you recommend the one you have? can you send me a link for it?
Thanks. The vice I use is from Amazon... it works and was cheap, but I'm not terribly impressed with the build quality. Many pickers seem to like Panavice products, but I've never tried them.
thank you!
Had it had the new style, would it have been harder to pick? Or is it all about cutting costs?
Yes, but not much. IMO, the old style spools and core are a far harder combination...
Are there any lishi pick tools that Works in that ?
Is there a lishi keycoder for this model
Do you know which lishi decoder that fit ruko 600?
Wait. What amount of tension? I can never seem to get the clicks. Wither it jams or nothing... :( no solid clicks (all kinds of assas)
How about a D1200 ore Dp2 system?
done eny ruko series 1200 ?
