My old Rainbird controller died and am SO ready to replace it with a smart controller. I'm in the Dallas Texas area, and we frequently have watering restrictions that only allow you to water on certain days each/every other week, interrupted by massive downpours every now and then (we seldom have nice, soaking rains; it's typically feast or famine). I'm sold on either the Rachio or Rainmachine. I'm leaning toward the Rainmachine based on local control. That said, either one would be a HUGE step up from having to turn the controller off most of the time, then having to go out into the garage to cycle the zones manually, using my iphone as a reminder to skip zones that don't need water. Thanks for any advice you can provide!
Hey! Great info on your channel. I'm thinking about upgrading to a smart controller myself and this unit makes a lot of sense for my needs and home. Can you tell me how functional this would be if the cloud servers ever go offline? I love smart home stuff, but I know it's all to common for these companies to go under or get bought by someone else who drops the product line. Thanks again for all the reviews.
Any reason to get the HD-12 over the Mini-8 if I have less than 8 zones? I like the screw terminals on the HD-12, but not sure the touchscreen adds any value. Thanks for the reviews!

Go for the Mini-8, the touchscreen is the real big difference. And if you have any grand idea of having more zones in your garden.
my friend, can i run it manually on the device or only by the apps like rachio?
It can be run manually on the device!
