Fascinating, especially the comparison to Satie. Truly one of the greatest songs I think, never ever get tired of it. The sections you called the "belly dance" - the interplay between what Tony plays and the drums/bass fascinates me.
yes, I have these. There is a seconds out, wind and wuthering, trick of the tail and and then there were three sheet music books. They are fine and fun to play at home but they are not usually 100% correct in terms of semi pro tribute standard but thats not surprising as the keyboard parts are across (at least) 4 keyboards and the transcription has to be for just piano. Not sure if these are still available but I saw this on amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Genesis-Complete-Piano-Vocal-Guitar/dp/885070934X. I haven't got this one so can't comment on it but the ones I do have are all simplified versions but fine for beginners/intermediates :-). I learn them by getting a rough copy on midi from somewhere on the internet and correcting it or by listening at slow speed to the original, playing it (recording it) and then correcting it but either way I need to end up with a manuscript version of the stumbling blocks e.g. the guitar parts on Cinema show, some of the solo at the end of Cinema show, the solo in Apocalpse in 9/8, all of one for the vine, these are all parts I learned from manuscript...
I have this book, but I am not yet at the level where I can play much from it. It is a bit confusing in places as you will need 3 hands to play what is written.😮
