This as well as Angels is on Snakes and Arrows, a late Rush album that doesn’t get much respect because it’s a late one. Their last two albums, this and Clockwork Angels, are masterpieces.
Amen. "Clockwork Angels" is one of my favorite albums of theirs. They definitely finished on a high note, especially with "The Garden" to close out their material.
Lucky guy. I was a paper boy for old grouchy women upset I had broken their flower pots and people collecting the paper delivery fees on my route. All I have are the memories of seeing them in concert over and over again.

So cool when girls like Rush. Sad but ive been to many Rush concerts and the female fans are few and far between. But that just makes you that much cooler.
This is on my top 10 songs from RUSH- truly amazing considering that this song is from their 18th album, 33 years after they relased their first album. These guys were 💯🔥
As I look back at my love affair with Rush, every album opens with killer songs containing killer riffs and lyrics. "Far Cry" is one of the best hard rock songs in their catalog. This one opens the album, Snakes and Arrows (an ancient Hindu game of life) and was the 18th studio record! "Only" 32 years after Neil Peart's first album appearance! How many other rock bands produced RELEVANT music over three DECADES after their debut?!? NONE!!!! Just one more reason Rush is the BEST band in rock history!! Hands down!!! 🎸💜💜💜🎼
As I sit here and watch you listen to this song for the first time and react to it it bums me out that you've never been able to see these guys live. Especially a song like this. It was effing phenomenal live.... I was such an addicted fan I think I saw this tour 21 shows. I was so hooked on them....ugh I miss seeing them live. It's one thing to spend their music on vinyl or CD it's a whole other universe witnessing these three guys pull off what they do live. It was effing mind blowing if you could truly understand what they were actually doing in real time. They were just simply mind-blowing. They are so beyond any live act ever to play live in the history of the universe. At least that's in my humble opinion anyhow.....
I think the "electrical changes" also refer to changing synapses in the brain to adjust to new realities of dystopia. The absolute energy of this song made it the perfect opener to S+A. I love "full moon rising lays silver at your feet"
I saw them on this tour (Snakes & Arrows). Over the years, I've attended numerous concerts, at least 50, as the host of a classic rock radio show. And I've never, not ever, had such an immense wall of sound thrown at me by three individuals. Good, great, fantastic, spectacular...there truly are not enough adjectives to describe this band, especially live. My brother, they blessed me with over three hours of sheer rock & roll perfection. I'll never forget it. Just...wow.

@@marksherrick That's awesome! Rush was my first concert with Max Webster leading off (I was 15 years old). Lyrically Snakes and Arrows is mature and thoughtful, and some of their very best. Some fans just can't get beyond the late seventies and early eighties, but the last two albums are musically solid and full of gems for those who are willing to give them a go.
I'm a second generation Rush fan, and in 2015 I won tickets to see them on their R40 tour with my dad! It was the best show ever, the arena was charged with energy from the crowd. Every song of their's touches my heart, and I really enjoy watching you react to them.
My father and I almost bought two tickets but for nosebleeds it would have been between $500-$600 so it didn’t happen. Wish we would have went now for sure!
Jamel, When Rush did this song live. When the lyrics came up "You can almost see the circuits blowing". Several 10 foot flames shot up behind Neil's drum kits on the stage. You've got to see them do this song live.

I really really really miss this band. They existed when I was born and for the first 41 years of my life. When they ended it was like losing a friend. The final two albums were simply brilliant.
Hell yeah, Rush always has the songs that bring us back. Oh man, that upbeat high hat that leads you to the chorus and then the ding ding ding dingiding that Neil did so well . And you got a drumstick????? Awesome Possum!

I was a Rush fan back in the 1970s in high school. I lost interest in the 80s, and a couple years ago someone passed me a live DVD from the album tour this song is on. I have listened to little other than Rush since then! This song, and Dreamline are my modern era favorites!
Just FYI, starting with Moving Pictures, the guys credit every song (except instrumentals) as Neil on lyrics and Geddy and Alex on music - which is pretty much how it always was done anyway. Instrumentals have the music credited to all three. They made the agreement to do the credits that way to ensure all three received equal royalties for every song (especially in situations like where someone did a cover version or something) so there'd never be any disagreements worse who should get what for which song. A little piece of trivia about the song itself: The "wah"-type effect Alex gets on the guitar doesn't use any electronic modification - he created it by how he was strumming the chords. As a former (mediocre) guitarist, I just think that's really cool. 😎
Definitely the best song (in my opinion) on Snakes and Arrows. I was fortunate enough to see 2 shows on that tour and this song was the opening song after intermission. Great show, great song, great band, and great reaction brother Jamel!

Why not react to Eddie Murphy's Delirious?

I am glad that I went back to listen to this reaction from you, Brother Jamal!!! Neil Peart's writing took a huge change after two very serious personal tragedies in his life. I wish I had a chance to meet the man before he passed. We would had had great conversation.
My son's first Rush show, Snakes & Arrows Tour '07 He was 16..It blew him away! That tour was probably my 30th show. The album is very dark, Neil was not too optimistic about society at the time IMHO. Check out "Bravest Face" off that album. Heavy..(but awesome musically!!..) Thanks Jamal!
Have you ever done a reaction to Uriah Heep. Rush's first U.S. tour was opening for them and we lost both drummer Lee Kerslake and keyboardist/guitarist Ken Hensley this year.
Hey Jamel - put that stick in a case for the wall. What a gig! Snakes and Arrows - It took 4 days for my ears work right again. Excellent. Keep on keeping on brother Jamel.
You know if that was one of Neil's USED pro mark 747 it would be chopped up like a beaver had been gnawing on it for 3 hours. But the consolation prize is like a participation trophy. To a drummer .

RUSH, one of my top three bands. Love these RUSH reactions. Keep doing RUSH reactions. If you can do "Losing It" that would be fantastic.
Time Stand Still....
Jamel, you are my #1 favorite reactor on YT hands down. And then you went and fell in love with my favorite band! That you said Rush is your favorite band means a lot to me and the community. You listen to SO MUCH S#[+, but you come home to Rush.
The chorus of this song is the go to for rising up and defeating the cruel hand of life (N. had lost his wife and daughter recently, as I'm sure you know by now)
We love you, man❤, please be well and safe, and your second channel is awesome! Why not react to Eddie Murphy's Delirious?
God knows how much I miss this band they are the greatest of all time
Hello Jamel my friend, happy Saturday. Nice reaction as always. :) When you revisit Deep Purple someday, could you please react to Space Truckin'? Also perhaps Boston's Man I'll Never Be. Thank you!
Go to a Jack White concert...he bans phones so it feels like the old days. Fantastic memory experience
Always love the vids bro, especially the Rush!!! What a great 3 piece!! RIP Neil!!
I am glad that I went back to listen to this reaction from you, Brother Jamal!!! Neil Peart's writing took a huge change after two very serious personal tragedies in his life. I wish I had a chance to meet the man before he passed. We would had had great conversation.
Plus the actual video for this is nutty
P-EAR-T! And that is awesome!
The second "on" in the chorus is definitely "home".
Love Rush...José. Montréal.
There are only a select handful of Rush songs I like later in their 2000's era career, and this is on the top of that list.
My favorite reactor with one of my favorite songs. My evening is set. Thanks Jamel.
I NEED that shirt !
Hey Jamel - put that stick in a case for the wall. What a gig! Snakes and Arrows - It took 4 days for my ears work right again. Excellent. Keep on keeping on brother Jamel.
I just noticed that the last chord of the song is the openning chord of the Beatles "Help"......would make sense relative to the lyrics...
I think your large number of followers are due to your very likeable personality, ty for the vids friend!
You know if that was one of Neil's USED pro mark 747 it would be chopped up like a beaver had been gnawing on it for 3 hours. But the consolation prize is like a participation trophy. To a drummer .
This is the latest album Rush released when I got into them. Far cry will always be one of my favourite Rush songs. It looks like you enjoyed it too :)
Afterimage is a must . Rush kills when they get personal . Underrated song and LP . Long live their legend .
"Rise in anger...fall back and repeat,"
