Ah, the thought of a slipping Centax gives me PTSD from the days when it was first introduced (in the Serpent Excel/9000 series IIRC). In his first race weekend with it, A good friend burned 3 sets of clutch shoes which drove him crazy. I couldn't have been more happy running the conventional clutch in my Sprint 6000 series, for the short time I ran 8th scale back then, lol. These days, everything (except off-road buggies) use a Centax, so I suppose the days of burning clutches are under control - especially with informative videos like this!
Very helpful explanation , Can you chare the loctite product number please? Never seen it here in an stick like you have. It is always fluid here in the chops. Thx!
Hi Jeff really nice vedio but have a question hope you can support you have mentioned the the 1/8 spring set is 1.7 how about 1/10 I mean 750 is it the same??? Thanks Abdul
I have a question, i've noticed that some people at the track dremel the inside of the spring. I heard its to make sure the spring does not get hung up on the threads. is this something you do or recommend? whats your opinion on that? Thanks again.
Hi Jeff Hamon I am your fan. There are 3 5*10*4 bearings in the manual, but I am curious if only 2 can be added. And, can the clutch gap be 0.3 and not set the end play?
Hey Jeff, very nice video. One remark is that the spring settings only work with the 2 bearings. If you go with the new 3 bearing setup then you have to bring the spring tension down or the clutch slips. Don’t know why. What is your experience with the 3 bearings ?
@@jeffhamon6759 I have made FB contact with PAS. Ian has responded and we are set for a transaction, once the item arrives in his shop. I gave you a shout to him for hooking me up. All is great. Now, we need to get you to America and race with us at Toledo in the Wallace race or the Great Lakes Challenge. I think you will be challenged and have a great time as well.
Great video, please keep them coming I’m new to the sport and there aren’t a lot of videos like this. Thank you.

Hey Jeff! Where can I find those digital clutch tools. Did a few searches and came up empty. Great video!
Raul Velez , you can search on Facebook for Precise Auto Sports, they currently don’t have a website.
eBay has them ……… looks like a knock off from Hong Kong . 🤔

is that digital spring tool import?
I use the good old vernier calipers..
The Digital Spring tool is a bit more accurate in my opinion, it sits square on the nut every time :)
@@jeffhamon6759 Who manufactures this tool. Where can I purchase it?
Inspector 100 These are available from Precise Auto Sports, you can find them on Facebook 👍
