Tamron 28-200, love it! If I could use a single lens only for the rest of my life I'd pick my 28-200, no doubt. What a great lens! Nice video, thanks for sharing!
The trick with a rising moon in daylight is, it needs to be just before full. At full, it rises with sunset (which might work) and after full it rises after sunset. But too far before full and it's noticeably gibbous. I guess you could try for a setting moon, which would be an early morning event. Really nice images!
Thanks, another great adventure ! I like the pictures with the light on the sea a lot. With the dead tree i liked the one with the moon on the right side !
Amazing shots, and I agree that getting something unexpected makes it extra special Hard to choose but I do prefer the tree with the moon in the middle
I really enjoyed the image with the birds on both sides of the moon. All of those moon and tree shots are great. Michael, you are fast becoming one of my favorite YT channels to watch. I'm working my way backwards through your videos, and your blog articles are very good too. Thanks for all of your work!
Great video. Thank you! I prefer the last moon image. I have no idea why. I just do. But I like the other two almost as much. And thank you for showing us/sharing with us that pros use everyday gear. While I realize you likely have higher grade bags and tripods than what you used in this video, it's commendable that you demonstrated, even if unintentionally, that you don't have to buy professional grade gear to take good photos and enjoy the hobby. The brand of tripod you used would probably last the average amateur photographer, like me, 20 years. And if I'm not spending money on a premium tripod, then I can spend it somewhere else where I might get more benefit - lens, good filters, editing software, etc. So, on behalf of all of us on a budget, thank you!
Really nice images, Michael. Of the tree and moon images, it is hard for me to choose, but I lean toward the third image. I appreciated your tip on dropping the exposure for those water images. Those are cool. I liked the gear rundown. I am still looking for the right lite backpack. I am assuming you have the 22L? Thanks all around.
The 28-200 is a great all around lens. I use the Sony 24-240 for the same reason. Love that lens too. As always, I enjoy your videos and all you do to bring us nice content.
Always enjoy your channel and especially like when you're local. Im in San Jose and am always in the Santa Cruz Mountains, there are soo many hidden gems there. I like the darker image with the moon on the right the best. Fantastic images!
Great video Michael. I like the shot of the moon between the branches. Have you ever tried going south on Hwy 35 from Hwy 92? When the conditions are right the low lying fog on the coast looks like the ocean against the hills.
Every week you provide such inspiration! I often see similar compositions but my photos, well, you know. Get out there and keep trying. Thanks for all your hard work.
HI Michael Great shots thanks for taking us along , I like the one with the birds n the moon Best Great tips and oh don't for get to mention to take a whistle just in case. Really like your calm approach to landscape photography Very inspiring
What a nice hike! The image @ 9:30 is my favorite. That tree with the birds and the Moon was quite a gift. I am also quite the fan of the images @ 4:14 and 4:19. Keep 'em coming.
Of the three photos of the moon and tree…all excellent, but my preference was the first one with the tree leaning left, fog leaning/ moving right, and the bird (which may be a raven at first glance) in perfect position on the right side.
Wow, Michael, your talent is unmatched! I love all of the moon images. The colors are so beautiful and it's not really possible to pick just one! The branches look like they are cradling and protecting the moon, and the birds seem to be in the right place every time.
I love your channel. The last image of the moon in between the dead tree branches was my favorite. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I learn so much from you, and your videos are so relaxing to watch.
Yet another fab video. I think my favourite is the last one with the wider angle of the tree and lower moon. Your videos are always engaging and something to look forward to
Great video as always! But dude, are you EVER gonna replace that back panel LCD??? That crack triggers my OCD every time I see it, don't know how that doesn't irk you each time!
@@MichaelShainblum Ok, but leaving that crack alone will eventually allow water ingress into the panel, which may lead to a short that'll cause FAR more expensive damage to the camera down the road, so as someone in IT and photography, I'd highly advise you get that replaced sooner than later; a new panel is cheaper than a new logic board for the A1... Also, I believe Sony can provide a loaner during the repair if you're part of their Professionals Service program, so you wouldn't be without a camera during the service. Good luck!
I love the moon images, especially the one where it is low in the branches of the tree on the right. Thank you for all the inspirational videos, Michael. They make an old man’s photographic journey much easier to navigate.
Another great video, Michael. All of the shots with the moon and the tree are excellent, but my favorite is the darker one with the moon on the right side.
Thanks for another great video. Often the shots we leave the house to get are not the ones we come home with. I love the moon shots, especially the last one with a darker sky and the moon further to the right.
I love this channel. It’s criminal that you only have 119k subs. Thanks for always being an inspiration! These images are spectacular

Amazing shots, and I agree that getting something unexpected makes it extra special Hard to choose but I do prefer the tree with the moon in the middle
The last moon picture with it between the branches is my favourite ❤️
The way you can read a landscape and create a composition from it is incredible and such an inspiration!
I really appreciate that!
Brilliant filming man, you narrated and executed this so nicely! Love it
Moon to the right in the twilight was my favourite, love the inclusion of the birds, always adds interest to a landscape image 👍
How zoom would recommend in this type photograph? Also would recommend exposure settings? Thank you!!!

Very nice and greetings from Austria!
Incredible video as usual man! I'm in San Francisco 3 times next month for work. Could you recommend the best view points for fog?
Great video. Thank you! I prefer the last moon image. I have no idea why. I just do. But I like the other two almost as much.

The tree shots with the moon are gems. The final one with the moon low is my favourite.

Loved it, Michael! Those moon shots through that interesting tree were so cool! And love all the fog shots, too 😊
Every week you provide such inspiration! I often see similar compositions but my photos, well, you know. Get out there and keep trying. Thanks for all your hard work.
The final tree and moon image for me with the 3 birds, the moon between the branches to the right. Fabulous Michael. 😊😊😊
HI Michael Great shots thanks for taking us along , I like the one with the birds n the moon Best Great tips and oh don't for get to mention to take a whistle just in case. Really like your calm approach to landscape photography Very inspiring
Love the moon image at 9:25 but I’m wondering about the 3 birds being there at the same time perfectly positioned? Great video.
Moon in the middle! Thanks Michael.
What a nice hike! The image @ 9:30 is my favorite. That tree with the birds and the Moon was quite a gift. I am also quite the fan of the images @ 4:14 and 4:19. Keep 'em coming.

Inspiring, as always! The third moon image on the lower right is my favorite.
Love the tree shots, especially with the birds. And those clouds were really cool too!

Thank you very much!
Great video as always! But dude, are you EVER gonna replace that back panel LCD??? That crack triggers my OCD every time I see it, don't know how that doesn't irk you each time!
It doesn't really bother me too much. I'd rather not have to decommission the camera, send it in, and deal with the costs, at least for now, anyway.
I love the moon completely framed in the tree. Outstanding! You just can’t plan this stuff!
The image at 7:20 has fantastic light and balance, the bird looking amazing there. Absolutely fantastic.
What camera did you use for the footage?
DJI Osmo Pocket
I love the moon images, especially the one where it is low in the branches of the tree on the right.
Thank you for all the inspirational videos, Michael. They make an old man’s photographic journey much easier to navigate.
