  • Today I'm walking you through the differences between glazes, glosses and toners.
They do similar things, in a slightly different way and they are subtle differences, with major impact!
Toners were all we had to neutralize unwanted yellow and gold hues in blond hair and orange or brassiness in darker hair. That is until Sebastian hair products were introduced in the 1980's.
Hard hold, wind tunnel proof, Shpritz Forte. That gave us the BIG hair!
But I digrese...Sebastian also introduced their Cellophanes. These are temporary glazes that help pump up the color and shine when your hair has faded, or clear for a shine boost. These lasted about a week or several shampoos.
Now we have demi-permanent glosses which can last for 4-5 weeks or 12 shampoos, which could turn into months for a curly! LOL!
These use a gentler developer or activator than a permanent color but the shine is supposed to be intense.
Come hang with me and find out all about these color helpers.
Lots of Fun Cuts at the end...I had someone working on a window.
I had my scotch. What about you?

I’m very interested in learning how to control frizz. Misty blue and I have that in common - an interesting future topic.

I thought your hair looked very shiny today. With all that banging going on, 😮 I’m amazed that you were able to finish your video. Hope the guy did a good job on your windows.

Hi does it have a strong smell? My hair is very sensitive

Hi Nancy, Anything that uses a developer that contains ammonia does have a stronger smell than those used with toners, glazes or glosses.
I would suggest going onto the company's website, of the toners, glazes or glosses to see if they indicate whether it is low odor. Sometimes they could use a fragrance in there to make it smell better. That's why I would go to the website.
