To be honest in my eyes biffy are done and dusted. once they got a new record label and took out puzzle then that was it 4 me.fair play to them tho theyl go on and headline festivals and be one of the biggest bands in the next decade but i would rather they stayed the way they were.
@BiffyReuben Yeah it does, although The Captain live sounds much better than studio, at least from what I can tell from recordings, haven't seen them myself :(. also Reuben win.
@ChrisYoung1989 Yeah, I agree. I liked Puzzle straight away when it came out, but it took me a while to get into Only Revolutions. What really helped me was seeing the new songs played live. They come across so much better live than they do on the album.
One of the best song ever written by the guys. Awesome live. I've heard it and seen it during the sound check for their show in Milano last December...perfectly played, as always! MON THE BIFF. Alessandro
Puzzle and Only Revolutions are great albums, yes they are more mainstream, but that doesn't mean they are bad albums. As long as Biffy keep churning out quality tunes, I will keep listening to them. And if you don't like the direction they are going, hey you still have their old music to listen to :)
First time I heard Biffy Clyro was in 2011 through XFM radio (now Radio X). It was their mainstream album "Only Revolutions" and I immediately loved it. However, I have since listened to Puzzles, Opposites and many songs from their earlier albums such as 57, Diary of Always etc. and I gotta say that to me, perhaps because the first album I heard from them was Revolutions, I didn't think much of their new sound compared to their older one. I believe this is because I had their whole discography at my disposal and I could choose, rather than having been used to their older sound only to see how they'd change it few years after. Personally, I find Opposites really decent, but to me Puzzles will remain my favourite.
@BiffyReuben dont worry mate ive listend to them all.i stopped going to biffy gigs when they took out puzzle.saw them 6 or 7 times b4 that.those were the days like.when they took out infinity land i knew that they wouldnt go down that route forever.Their records now are so overproduced its ridiculous.
quality drumming!
mon the biff!

Chris Young you've probably forgotten that you wrote this, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Biffy 7 years later
