How to change a throttle body on Fiat Punto

Here’s a descriptive video on how to swap a throttle body on a Fiat Punto, quite a simple job, you’re methodical and patient. Great job for the DIYer, who loves to have a go. Do your research first though and if not sure leave to a pro.

thank you for the video,its really nice. After cleaning my throttle body from the oil and add an oil catch can the throttle become more accurate I think. Also the stock air filter box is a bit crap and changing it with a cold air intake trasform your engine, smoother gear changing,keep the revs easier,accelarate faster when it needs. Fuel consuption can stay same by pressing yoyr pedal less.

Johann Strauss I agree, that air filter set up was terrible, the Pcv breather would go straight into it, gumming up the throttle body. Not a great design. Wasn’t a fan of this car.. thanks for watching.

Get yourself a good torx set, I think they vary in size.👍

Great video! I have the same car but has rough idle and stalls. I think it's a vacuum leak and can hear a hissing from the engine but not sure how to find out where its coming from. Any ideas or videos on this problem as I'd rather a cheap DIY fix than fork out on a garage. Thank mark

Mr JOHNSTONE spray some water or carb cleaner around the throttle body when running, you might be able to see it spitting or bubbling where the airs escaping.

Mr JOHNSTONE try spraying some carb cleaner or water around the throttle body base or the intake manifold gasket, if you see it bubbling or spitting, you may have found the leak.

Probably a cracked intake or leaking throttle body. Check the air intake. Throttle body maybe stuck open?

Very much so, could be dirty, give it a clean if it’s sticking.

@@drivewaydiyer6504 I gave my car for servicing ,engine is missing power mechanic said it is throttle body problem,he cleaned it,I am not sure why am I getting poor mileage
