  • This is an "invisible step" that not a lot of people know even exists. If this is your first time setting up a website, you may be wondering how to point your domain name to your website.
You know, so you can type in your website domain name in your browser and then your website shows up? Simple stuff.
If you've bought your domain name separately from your hosting, you'll need to connect your domain to your hosting server.
First, login to your hosting and look for their nameservers. They will usually list two nameservers to use. In hostinger, this is under Websites, Your Website, Hosting, Plan Details
Take note of these nameservers, you'll use them in just a moment.
Go to your registrar (where you bought your website domain name), and look for the nameservers settings. Choose Custom Nameserver option (instead of their default nameservers) and you'll be present with fields to add your custom nameservers. In namecheap, this is under Domain List, Your Domain, Nameservers.
Fill out those fields with the values you got from your hosting.
    Hit Update/Save.
Usually it's pretty quick, but sometimes it can take a few hours (up to 48-72 hours).
Once you've done this, your can new visit your website by typing in your domain name in your browser.
    Enjoy your website!
