    Near my city in Rijeka, Croatia there is a mountain and one of the peaks is called Perun's peak. Also, the small town on the coast near the mountain is called Volosko, derived from Veles. Representing how Perun is on top and Veles is in underworld. Also, in Dalmatian town Žrnovnica, there is a tablet from 7th century showing the battle between two gods.

    Hey great work. Thank you for carrying the torch for Balkans and South Slavs. You are right, there is very little knowledge on the RUclips about South Slavs.
    But what is even less known about Balkan mythology is Vlah / Valakian myths and their influence on South Slavs. It seems that Valakians still have very authentic ancient European beliefs, and it’s still alive in their culture. Would you kindly make a video about their myths and culture. I know it would be a massive work to research that, but it would make a great video.
    All I know is Muma Paduri, sort of a Lilith character but also a protector of women and children. The rest is quite complex.

    The Romanian version of the Dodola rain dance is called Paparuda and now I'm wondering if it means Father Rod. I know dad is tata and not papa in Romanian but papa is common in other Romance languages so maybe it's older.

    • @NikolaSkodric89
      @NikolaSkodric89 Месяц назад

      in serbian "rod" means kin or lineage or same family tree

      Romanian is a young language western church created and forced people in Romania to speak in last 200 years. Before that this was one of old Serb states/kingdoms. Communist regime continued the practice of "nation building". Strange how very often you can find connection Vatican - Communism. It was very close.

    you forgot about "bay torbalan" who is described as a giant man with a big bag and kidnaps lost, and naughty children and according to some tales releases them in the forest where they can never return to their home from or according to other tales he brings them to his but hidden in the woods and eats them

    No Vidovdan is not about Christian Saint, thats a church invention. Its about God Vid or Svetovid. Every Serb knows that. Church also renamed Perun to Sveti Ilija Gromovnik. Its all under Christianity which is infect unique to Serbia. We have personal family protector holiday "Slava". Its pre Christian, its age unknown. Before western calendar was in forced, Serbian "Na-Rod" (we are not a nation, thats modern) counted around 7500 years. That date is very close to meteor impact that caused Meltwater Pulse 1 (a,b,c) flood.

    It's kind of sad, that you used a map, where Kosovo is country for itself, cause according to UN, it's part of Serbia.
    But since you did it, you should know that Albanians (majority on Kosovo) are not Slavs.
    I do understand, that some people are going to represent Kosovo as a separate country/entity. But if you choose to do so, be consistent and do the same for Crimea (maybe even four other Oblasts that joined Russia), Abkhazia, and North Ossetia. Don't be a hypocrite (like a lot of Serbs do, when they say "Kosovo is Serbia, but Crimea is not Ukraine" (or "Kosovo is independent, while Crimea is Ukrainian").

  • @harbinger200
    @harbinger200 Месяц назад

    BTW. Serbo-Croatian is a communist invention, it was created in 1945. Language is Serbian. Croatian a modern invention, just like Bosnian, Montenegrin, Macedonian, Bulgarian, etc... Its nation building, not a separate language. Its like American language and English language. Yes there are states in US where its illegal to say you speak English, you have to say American language.

    South Slav do not exist as a term that has real meaning. Its a recent communist invention to obscure history. Slavs are one culture that originated from a single source that developed various states. there are no north, east, south and west Slavs. All share the same language and culture that developed differently and was in good measure changed by German colonization in 18-19 century. German academy influenced formation of every Slav language it had military superiority. Both Russian and Serbian where changed by Germany. In Serbia by military occupation, in Russia trough German Royalty trough Russian court and royalty which was often German or Jewish. Before the forced "nation building" two languages where nearly identical.
