98 Rock Night 2024 began with a bang as toyhole, aka Marianne and Wendi, broadcast live from the Coors Light Roof Deck at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Taking place on Friday, June 28, the annual event perfectly coincided with Female Friday, featuring the ultimate guest: Joan Jett.
Joan Jett, the famed frontwoman of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, has lived by one motto her entire life: She could be anything she wanted to be.
Inspired by these words at just 5 years old, Jett spent the 1980s redefining gender boundaries in rock. We can only imagine how she felt sitting with two female hard rock radio jocks - hopefully proud. Jett, who hadn’t been to a game since last year and was now to set to be a key player in it, expressed she was actually feeling more butterflies before pitching for Baltimore than for the Blackhearts.
