That's why you should only do a marketing campaign when 99% of the game is done, if you do it from the start then the community starts pressuring you, your developers, and then you are forced to deliver it early
I personally feel like it's been out forever, in a good way. I love this game and there is always stuff to do in it, it never gets old. After playing on 360, Xbox One, and PC, I can say this is one of if not the best games ever.

To really put in perspective. GTA IV came out in 2008. Following one of rockstar's greatest games of all time in 2010 came Red Dead Redemption literally one of the greatest games of our time. Upon that in 2011 Rockstar gave us LA Noire. A game that was a revolution at the time and even further in 2012 Max Payne a game that proved time doesn't matter in a video game's durability. Monumentally in 2013 Rockstar managed to pull off what was considered and is considered the greatest game of our generation Grand Theft Auto V only five short years after GTA IV they managed to accomplish all those games. I applaud you rockstar. Amazing to think that in 2 years time a new GTA may be hitting shelves.

Put it this way: Rockstar started development on GTA V merely months after GTA IV came out in 2008 (yes they developed TLAD & TBoGT too but some of the team was already on GTA V), it was then announced in 2011 and then released in 2013. However, since Rockstar have focused all their efforts in the last 4 years on GTA Online, they only started development on GTA VI in 2017, rather than straight after V's release in 2013. This has effectively put GTA VI 4 years behind schedule. If it were on the same timescale as V, it'd have began development in 2013, been announced in 2016 and being release in 2018. But thanks to GTA Online, it began development in 2017, will probably be announced in about 2020 and released somewhere around 2022. Yes GTAO is fun, but it has seriously damaged hopes of another GTA world and story soon...
GTA online is not a big thing.... it doesnt require a full development team to work on it, theres probably 2 or 3 guys making content for GTA online and theyre in the job for the longhaul. GTA6 will probably be released in 2022 like was mentioned but just think of how amazing it will be with a development window like that... people should stop worrying about how soon it will be till the next game in their favourite franchise is released and instead worry about if the dev teams have enough time, resources and ambition

You know the three main characters are like every basic gamer. Micheal for wanting a peaceful life but you ain't gonna get that cause its boring and you get angry with it. Franklin for wanting to be big but always being small and Trevor for...just....being....senselessly insane.
Gerald ! This game is far from perfect! The story is mediocre, Franklin is poorly characterized, there is too much focus on online, the game gets repetitive later on, etc. You can't call any game perfect. This game is amazing, no doubt, but there is much room for improvement.
To whoever thinks this game has a weak story, I recommend you not to be too static. The story-line for this game was written in a different style from the previous GTA games (obviously because this game features three protagonists), thus making it more original than the previous ones. The story's strength is located on the variety and diversity.
I just wished the overall story was a tad bit longer. The amount of missions in GTA V were noticeably shorter compared to its predecessors. 69 missions makes for a quick play through.

Rfestyle Better story probly best ending in a game ever. Its setting is the best Rockstar ever managed to produce and it still feels alive in many more aspects than other GTA games. Basically it never attempted to be anything more than it was and what it was good at , and what it was good at it was incredibly good at (it also came out 2010).
Future Friend they have different graphics and density of 3d models and 3d npcs. Unless consoles and pc have 128gb ram for a standard, then sure, rockstar can do that. But no, average users only have 8-16 gigs of ram. Let alone the 90gb size (60gb story mode) of gta is already huge lol. Which consists of a lot of guns, cars, a lot of characters and npc models, detailed map and whatnot. Apples and oranges my friend

The story in my opinion was extremely entertaining, and kept me at the edge of my seat. It might've not been the best scripted GTA game to date, but the online portion definitely makes up for it. Props to Rockstar for the amazing game and experience.
This game exceed my expectations. It is absolutely incredible. If Rockstar can make something this good on 360 and PS3 I can't wait to see what they can do on the PS4 and the One

I'll say both fanboys and haters are annoying. The fanboys makes true gta fans seem like CoD fanboys but the haters would nitpick at this game so hard just to justify why they don't think it deserves a 10, even though their only argument is the story which was not meant to be too serious and it's a social commentary. Bottom line, if GTA IV got a 10 back in 2008 then anything is possible.
While I think that gta v's story is good, I think its style isn't focused on the right aspects. It focuses on the modern society in general, when really it should focus on crime more than anything else. For the next Gta, I want a character who either is top of the food chain, runs a gang and is a well known criminal or I want someone who has never before commited a crime before and must make their first steps in this new world.
Yes but it doesn't focus on any one aspect of it. It has the chance to focus on the gang aspect and the heist aspect [which does seem to be what they were trying to focus on but it didn't come out very focused in my opinion] and of course it also has a chance to focus on the narcotics aspect. There is crime but I would say that it has too many other non focused missions for my tastes.
70s san francisco would be a great starting point for me. They could do a story which allows you swich to 3 different characters in 3 different decades. Now that mechanic has potential. Imsgine playing as tommy vercetti in 80s los santos and then switching to cj to see whats changed in 10 years. You could then finally switch to claude/niko/trevor michael or franklin and youd see what the modern version of the city is like. Holy shit, just thinking about it makes me want it so much.

I tmay work in other meiumds to have 3 characters but being this a gta either we have a big ass story or just one character (i think with 3 good characters you have to have too many narratives): That being said i think that breaking abd character would be perfect, we would start first mission with like i don't know an internal monologue saying how boring is life is and this would kinda spiral from that. A good setting would be Las Venturas or VIce City since I think there's a lot of sin and galmour to both settings
Best game ever made. I really hope it gets a port to next gen consoles soon I'm suffering withdrawals from Las Santos. I've resorted to play my Dads copy on Playstation 3... No offence to anyone but I can't stand dual shock 3 so it's not ideal... Plus I have to play the story mode again.

Within the first 24 hours of the game's release, it had made over 800 million dollars. And then right after 3 days, the game had officially made 1 billion. So right now, GTA V is the biggest selling game of all time.

It's 2017 and I just picked it up. One of the best and most detailed games I've ever played. Last GTA I actually played was SA lol so it's been awhile. Can't wait for 6 but I want to them to take their time. My FAVOURITE part about GTA is that unlike other games that are biased politically, GTA finds a way to be POLITICAL without cherry picking or choosing sides. It just displays everyone's insanity rather than try to make one side look better than the other and there being a "right and wrong" side. Hope they continue to do that.

While GTA 5 is a very great game, there is no such thing as a perfect game. That being said, it should have a rating at 9.[?]. No game, in my opinion, is capable of a 10/10 rating.
If you are gamer you do not care about small things and small bugs, if you are reviewer you have to care about them but gamers should enjoy the game, that is my opinion ;) it deserve 10/10
No doubt that this is a great game but i just wish they add more things in singleplayer, like hanging out with more friends (not only Michael, Trevor and Franklin with each other) doing jobs for your friends and just random people that you don't know but will, after you help them. But i still love this game !
The only thing I wonder is when playing as Michael, you can hang out with Amanda and Jimmy, but how come we can't hang out with Tracey? Or is that just me missing something to be able to hang with her?
TheRealRobertBlarg GTA V Online has some issues, but it is great. The single player has multiple missions, and mostly you don't have to do everything. Like in GTA IV , Niko do that, Niko do this, Niko blah blah. On GTA V , because of the three characters, you don't feel like you do everything. There's so much detail, and landscape. In GTA IV ,it's purely City, but in GTA V, you have backdoors, Deserts,Beaches/ Shorelines, and City. I recommend getting GTA V.
I'm glad they got rid of the annoying phone calls. And yeah, I love that there's a city as well as mountains and plains and even underwater to explore if you want. I'm just curious if random things pop up to do. I'll probably get the game regardless but I just really liked how in Spiderman 2 or Red Dead, you'd be moving through the game world and all of a sudden a little blip on your map would appear and you'd hear someone in trouble (being mugged/robbed or attacked) and you could go and investigate. Obviously it makes sense in those games since in Spiderman, you're a superhero and in RDR, it's still the "Old West" so bounty hunting and seeing a girl get stabbed in public makes a bit more sense. But does GTA have anything like that? Just driving around the city messing around when suddenly you hear something going on and a little dot appears on the map for a random event? And I must stress... I'm not talking about full blown side missions with named characters or anything of that nature. Just random little things that happen from time to time that you can either participate in or ignore. I love that stuff.
Yeah, they're called "Random Events" , such as a women getting mugged, trucks with money you can steal. Helping strangers, and unlocking crew members. Also you get a small prize, either half the money if a person was being mugged and your special ability bar gets full. Only if you return a purse that has been stolen, or keep the money.

People arguing GTA 4 vs GTA 5 is really stupid. Yes there are things they improve on in the new game, but when you start saying how GTA 4 was the worst GTA there's something wrong. I haven't played either games I will get them both this Christmas. But from what i have seen GTA 4 is a New York Style Grayish Map, not because its bad but because that's what its supposed to feel like, not because its "inferior". And GTA 5 looks like a rich (and poor city) California style map with lots of color and life. They are meant to be different.
GTA 5 is overrated. The realism was inconsistent, unlike GTA 4, and it seems like Rockstar only attempted to amplify those features in GTA SA because it'll make good sales. The story fucking sucked and the 3 characters were a poor attempt to avoid the accusation that GTA 5 brought nothing new. It was way too focused on money making and spending to the point where it just got depressing. Unlike RDR, GTA 5 seemed to have only aimed at showing off its mechanical features

You can't call any game perfect. This game is amazing, no doubt, but there is much room for improvement.

To whoever thinks this game has a weak story, I recommend you not to be too static. The story-line for this game was written in a different style from the previous GTA games (obviously because this game features three protagonists), thus making it more original than the previous ones. The story's strength is located on the variety and diversity.

Rfestyle Better story probly best ending in a game ever. Its setting is the best Rockstar ever managed to produce and it still feels alive in many more aspects than other GTA games. Basically it never attempted to be anything more than it was and what it was good at , and what it was good at it was incredibly good at (it also came out 2010).

Future Friend they have different graphics and density of 3d models and 3d npcs. Unless consoles and pc have 128gb ram for a standard, then sure, rockstar can do that. But no, average users only have 8-16 gigs of ram. Let alone the 90gb size (60gb story mode) of gta is already huge lol. Which consists of a lot of guns, cars, a lot of characters and npc models, detailed map and whatnot. Apples and oranges my friend

The story in my opinion was extremely entertaining, and kept me at the edge of my seat. It might've not been the best scripted GTA game to date, but the online portion definitely makes up for it. Props to Rockstar for the amazing game and experience.

I'll say both fanboys and haters are annoying. The fanboys makes true gta fans seem like CoD fanboys but the haters would nitpick at this game so hard just to justify why they don't think it deserves a 10, even though their only argument is the story which was not meant to be too serious and it's a social commentary.
Bottom line, if GTA IV got a 10 back in 2008 then anything is possible.
While I think that gta v's story is good, I think its style isn't focused on the right aspects. It focuses on the modern society in general, when really it should focus on crime more than anything else. For the next Gta, I want a character who either is top of the food chain, runs a gang and is a well known criminal or I want someone who has never before commited a crime before and must make their first steps in this new world.
Yes but it doesn't focus on any one aspect of it. It has the chance to focus on the gang aspect and the heist aspect [which does seem to be what they were trying to focus on but it didn't come out very focused in my opinion] and of course it also has a chance to focus on the narcotics aspect. There is crime but I would say that it has too many other non focused missions for my tastes.
70s san francisco would be a great starting point for me. They could do a story which allows you swich to 3 different characters in 3 different decades. Now that mechanic has potential. Imsgine playing as tommy vercetti in 80s los santos and then switching to cj to see whats changed in 10 years. You could then finally switch to claude/niko/trevor michael or franklin and youd see what the modern version of the city is like. Holy shit, just thinking about it makes me want it so much.

I tmay work in other meiumds to have 3 characters but being this a gta either we have a big ass story or just one character (i think with 3 good characters you have to have too many narratives): That being said i think that breaking abd character would be perfect, we would start first mission with like i don't know an internal monologue saying how boring is life is and this would kinda spiral from that. A good setting would be Las Venturas or VIce City since I think there's a lot of sin and galmour to both settings

It's 2017 and I just picked it up. One of the best and most detailed games I've ever played. Last GTA I actually played was SA lol so it's been awhile. Can't wait for 6 but I want to them to take their time. My FAVOURITE part about GTA is that unlike other games that are biased politically, GTA finds a way to be POLITICAL without cherry picking or choosing sides. It just displays everyone's insanity rather than try to make one side look better than the other and there being a "right and wrong" side. Hope they continue to do that.

I definetley think this game deserved the masterpiece rating. Yeah, sure there were long load times, but its to be a bit expected considering the world is so huge. I mean look at Skyrim. That game is such a masterpiece even though it had long laod times. 110/10 :D

While GTA 5 is a very great game, there is no such thing as a perfect game. That being said, it should have a rating at 9.[?]. No game, in my opinion, is capable of a 10/10 rating.
If you are gamer you do not care about small things and small bugs, if you are reviewer you have to care about them but gamers should enjoy the game, that is my opinion ;) it deserve 10/10

No doubt that this is a great game but i just wish they add more things in singleplayer, like hanging out with more friends (not only Michael, Trevor and Franklin with each other) doing jobs for your friends and just random people that you don't know but will, after you help them. But i still love this game !
The only thing I wonder is when playing as Michael, you can hang out with Amanda and Jimmy, but how come we can't hang out with Tracey? Or is that just me missing something to be able to hang with her?

TheRealRobertBlarg GTA V Online has some issues, but it is great. The single player has multiple missions, and mostly you don't have to do everything. Like in GTA IV , Niko do that, Niko do this, Niko blah blah. On GTA V , because of the three characters, you don't feel like you do everything. There's so much detail, and landscape. In GTA IV ,it's purely City, but in GTA V, you have backdoors, Deserts,Beaches/ Shorelines, and City. I recommend getting GTA V.
I'm glad they got rid of the annoying phone calls. And yeah, I love that there's a city as well as mountains and plains and even underwater to explore if you want.
I'm just curious if random things pop up to do. I'll probably get the game regardless but I just really liked how in Spiderman 2 or Red Dead, you'd be moving through the game world and all of a sudden a little blip on your map would appear and you'd hear someone in trouble (being mugged/robbed or attacked) and you could go and investigate.
Obviously it makes sense in those games since in Spiderman, you're a superhero and in RDR, it's still the "Old West" so bounty hunting and seeing a girl get stabbed in public makes a bit more sense. But does GTA have anything like that? Just driving around the city messing around when suddenly you hear something going on and a little dot appears on the map for a random event? And I must stress... I'm not talking about full blown side missions with named characters or anything of that nature. Just random little things that happen from time to time that you can either participate in or ignore. I love that stuff.
Yeah, they're called "Random Events" , such as a women getting mugged, trucks with money you can steal. Helping strangers, and unlocking crew members. Also you get a small prize, either half the money if a person was being mugged and your special ability bar gets full. Only if you return a purse that has been stolen, or keep the money.

***** actually, new york is a large state and so they could have had plenty of different types of areas. that said, it was made forever ago and so to have the city AND places less dense would have probably been difficult or even maybe impossible to do so with the time it came out

People arguing GTA 4 vs GTA 5 is really stupid. Yes there are things they improve on in the new game, but when you start saying how GTA 4 was the worst GTA there's something wrong. I haven't played either games I will get them both this Christmas. But from what i have seen GTA 4 is a New York Style Grayish Map, not because its bad but because that's what its supposed to feel like, not because its "inferior". And GTA 5 looks like a rich (and poor city) California style map with lots of color and life. They are meant to be different.

GTA 5 is overrated. The realism was inconsistent, unlike GTA 4, and it seems like Rockstar only attempted to amplify those features in GTA SA because it'll make good sales. The story fucking sucked and the 3 characters were a poor attempt to avoid the accusation that GTA 5 brought nothing new. It was way too focused on money making and spending to the point where it just got depressing. Unlike RDR, GTA 5 seemed to have only aimed at showing off its mechanical features
