Brighton should have not scored, what made them to score is poor mistakes not only for goalkeeper even defense. Even if the mistakes happened , what I like about Chelsea players they were not distracted by the goalkeeper mistake they fought till the last minute... As Chelsea fan I love the fighting spirit of our team ❤❤❤

One Playing Sanchez as an extra defender is a bad idea. the first goal was mad goal keeping, but the second one showed that he is NOT trustworthy in that role. I prefer Petrovic any day and twice on sunday. He is as good a shotstopper as Sanchez and not a nutter in distribution. As for beating the Brighton press, I confess that I did not see it at all. We struggled to beat it. We started looking dangerous when we hit it high up and had our forwards on explosive breaks.
Sanchez is a simply better goalie than Petrovic. Yes, he makes mistakes kicking the ball but Petrovic will do the same or more because Maresca demands his goalie to take risks in playing out of the back. Also, Sanchez overall is a better shot stopper than Petrovic who was beat at the near post 4 or more times last season. We also saw Petrovic flap at a soft header against 10 man Burney in the 2-2 draw. There are many others that had it been Sanchez, the fans would have complained. Maresca knows who's best and its not Petrovic. Also, Filip Jurgensen is ahead of Petrovic as well. I don't get the fascination with Petrovic who isn't the next coming of Cech or Courtois.
Onana at Maresca's Chelsea would have been something else in ball possession and counterattacks. Lavia will be an important cog in this system as he is press-proof.

I thought Brighton did well in midfield. Sanchez had poor distribution and gave away a goal. The real difference was Palmer.

yes. Sanchez wasn't particularly good in this game. but however any keeper can have a bad game even the best goalkeepers.
