- The Book of Sirach, also called the Wisdom of Sirach or simply Sirach and also known as the Book of Ecclesiasticus or Ben Sira, is a Jewish work originally in Hebrew of ethical teachings, from approximately 200 to 175 BCE, written by the Jewish scribe Ben Sira of Jerusalem, on the inspiration of his father Joshua son of Sirach, sometimes called Jesus son of Sirach or Yeshua ben Eliezer ben Sira.
In Egypt, it was translated into Greek by the author's unnamed grandson, who added a prologue. This prologue is generally considered the earliest witness to a canon of the books of the prophets, and thus the date of the text is the subject of intense scrutiny. The book itself is the largest wisdom book from antiquity to have survived.
The book of Sirach is my favourite. What practical advice it gives. I love this narration.
It's interesting to listen to but contradicts the gospel message That says Christ is the only means of forgiven sin
Thank you so much for sharing this! Such beautiful Wisdom, God Bless you for offering it freely for the hungry ones!
Interesting listening to back contradicts the gospel message Which says Jesus is the only means By which Says can be forgiven.
@God man I didn't catch the contradiction, but this book is inspired not channeled right? So it is created by men to pass along wisdom gained through experience. The beauty of information is that with the savior as a lens all can be seen as wisdom, a lesson, or a consequence of the lack of inspired action or thought... I try not to throw the baby out with the bath water generally. I am not supposed to fear anything. Jesus also says that, why should I fear information if I can expect that he will convict or convince or bless me with the truth. I think if Jesus is God, and God is everything, even states many times over in the old testament that he is the opposition as well as the blessing... then anything and everything can be a tool of salvation toward anyone willing to receive and achieve it. Which is why we are not supposed to judge flesh but descern spirits. Be Blessed God Man
Fantastic Bible reading from Contemporary English Version ! I like your clear and smoothing voice.. helps me listen on the move 👍👏👏💐 thank you very much ! God bless you greatly ! 🙏🌈
It is interesting to listen to but contradicts the gospel message which says Jesus is the only way sin can be forgiven That's why it was left out of The Bible

😁😆😅🤣😍 your introduction is amazing. Thanks for your time and effort to translate the book of proverb (book of wisdom). In the beginning it was written in the book of life called the (Bible). "Let us make man in our image"...(our) who is the our...CREATOR OF ALL. (Male-female spirit). This is why you say; her, she, when referring to wisdom. Her name in the Bible is Daughter of Zion, where her KING OF THE UNIVERSE DWELLS. 😇🙏 thank you for the English mindset that you translated the Hebrew mindset into. Peace and one love.
Peace & blessings
Great video thanks
33:45 I needed this
Amazing
There's soo much wisdom in the apocryphal books. Which btw was originally included in the Original 1611 KJV before the RCC removed them. Which kind of make calling them "Apocrypha(l)"book(s) a misnomer.
Thank you!

Nevermind, I found it, CEV
@@davidmilam2037 Yes. The CEV! Out of print (this particular audio recording) and almost impossible to get! I liked this so much though, I had to share. More apocrypha uploads on the way too.
Thank you for sharing, i had been looking for a contemporary English translation of this book and the other wisdom books in the bible. They make it easier to understand. You think i could find online to buy?
@@627ful I bought a physical copy with the blue cover through ebay. As far as the audio, those are harder to find. I contacted recorded books and they said they only sell to schools and/or churches. The ones I do have, I scrounged up here and there through ebay as well, but they were way overpriced.
@@theo-philos3533 - Can you upload the entire CEV audio recording, including all the Apocrypha audio books? Thanks!
Deuterocanon*
I Jesus the son of Sirach.
Interesting to listen to but I can see why it was rejected because it suggests that you can be forgiven of your sins by good works which contradicts The gospel message.
The early father's thought it was inspired by god the book of sirach since 382 AD canon list was put together that book was included.
Many sins can be forgiven thru charity
Rejected by who? This book was in the Septuagint. The same Septuagint Jesus Christ read from. You seem to think that the Jews had a canon. Have you ever heard of the Sadducees? Why do you think Jesus quoted from the Pentateuch and not Daniel or 1 Kings to prove resurrection?
Love covers a multitude of sins. Good works done in honor of God and with charity is love.
