Legit, one of these dancers I knew from back in the day, from a bigger city, is now my kids bus driver. In our small town. I told my kid to tell her I said hi.
This was the first cassette I own that my older brother bought for me. Lol haven't heard it for a decade and still can rap almost all the lyrics. I'm so glad I got to grow up in the 90's
RIP Chris Kelly. I liked their songs. I was an adult when this came out; but it could have been my anthem when I was a kid. I was always missing the bus!
I remember being in 2nd grade, and my teacher playing this song in class and having us sing it whenever somebody came in late lol..good memories..RIP Chris..thx for the music..
Man, I really didn’t notice what a cool video this was back in the day. Love how they did this with the horror elements. It still compliments the lyrics of the song without just being two kids missing the bus. The ‘nightmare’ element is really cool. You don’t see rappers doing nice little day in the life songs like this anymore

Life was simpler back then, I was 8 in 1990, living in West Dallas. Starter jackets, beanies, British Knights, LA Gear with the lights, Saturday morning cartoons, TGIF, riding bikes all day long, playing house, trampolines, damn near everybody in the neighborhood knew each other or when to school with one another. You got ass whoopins from family friends as long as they told your folks they whooped your ass, an the reason they it. Grandparents wisdom, candy stores out of the car garage. Neighborhood ice cream ride thru. The Hispanic guy pushing his Mexican ice cream buggy, big dogs shittin all over my back yard. Plus, my big bro had a red Mercedes Benz, and he used to take me to the boys and girls club in it every day. Arcade video games, hustling at the pool hall (I blame my uncles for it... LMAO), you actually made friend by meeting people, riding bikes, jumping on trampolines, going to the lake, summer camp, etc. What a time to.be a child. Finally, music and entertainment actually had conscious thought and ideas put into it. You weren't ennundated with ridiculous reality shows to do nothing but subconsciously dumb down society and make us materialistic egomaniacs. #80sBorn90sRaised
I used to live in this one neighborhood where everything looked the same. Anyway the bus would circle further out , and turn around to get back out sorry I could always catch the bus...but when I didn't it was pure out of laziness. Haha I dreamt about missing the bus too, & actually did. I must've heard the noise of the bus while sleeeping
Man I miss the days when all I had to worry about was missing the bus to school. Now I have to pay bills and make sure my own kids don't miss the bus. LOL #manimissbeingakid
I could so relate to this song when it came out, I think a lot of us kids back then could because who didn't miss their school bus a time or two because they overslept, wasn't dressed yet or just didn't want to go to school that day so they fiddled around all morning long till they missed their bus on purpose. Kids can't relate to the songs out nowadays because most of the songs are about , money and cars. Fantasy stuff that many will never attain. Rest in Paradise Chris, we will miss you!
20+ years later this song still feels fresh. #timeless Kriss Kross influenced an entire generation. How many other kids can say they did that?? RIP Chris
Absolutely one of my favorite songs by Kris Kross, I love it so much. I sent this song to my sister when she missed the bus. Then the same thing happened to my brother, when he thought he would catch the bus after sleeping too long 😂. Today marks 10 years since we lost a real talent and amazing trendsetter. We love you forever, Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly! ❤❤🙏🏽🕊️5/1/2023
I used to love this song when it first came out and I never knew there was a video for it and I also never heard this version! This is also one of the weirdest music videos Ive ever seen lol

This was the first cd my father ever bought me..I think I was 11 or 12..I will also remember my dad playing this song on repeat, the first time I missed the bus; in elementary school..
I used to ride the city bus in high school. One of the drivers not only announced each stop that was coming up, but would also say “Have a nice day" on Mondays through Thursdays, and “Have a nice day and a nice weekend" on Fridays. Fast-forward to college: one morning while riding a different bus line, as I was getting off to transfer to the subway, the driver said, "Thank you for riding the happy bus." Shoutout to both of those drivers for making my school commutes a pleasant experience, even though the latter was over the top.
I bumped this the whole way to the bus stop - we pulled up JUST as the bus was pulling up. My kids were trying to bail out before I completely stopped. Man, my mother would NEVER - I'd be out there on my own late AF. 🤣

You can have this tape and listen to it." Then he left for work at like 6 AM and I was like "what the fk is this music?" But by the time my dad came home early from lunch after the school called because I didn't make it to school on the bus that morning and I was bumping this jam full blast jumping around the house with my clothes on backwards.
