    One you missed is one you mentioned: Mike Mentzer IS uncrowned and it was for the 79 Olympia Zane won (no Arnold that year). Mike was the only one to obtain a PERFECT score yet somehow still lost. So I’d say there should be 4 on your list.

      It is hard to give Gunter the win with such a wide waste. Yeah, Cutler had a wide waste too. But his shoulders and lats helped create a better illusion of taper than it did with Gunter. Although, I don't think there as ever been a better bodybuilder to put on the cover of a magazine and saw, 'this is our champion', than Gunter. Even at 300 pounds, the dude's good looks and smile would have sold magazines to the ladies...or at least peeked their interest in bodybuilding. I'm looking forward to see your vid man, imo the guys who were truly uncrowned are: Nasser, Victor and probably Padilla/Platz. Maybe Günther in 2002 or "someone" in 1980. Love your vids but I dont think 97 was as controversial as u make out. Would love to see you do an analysis vid as you did for other olympias for 97. Sure he looks awful in that front double bicep pose, but from the back he was still very formidable.

    • @Tomn8er
      @Tomn8er  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah maybe. Seems to depend what footage you go by. The snapshots from film make Dorian look much better than the still photos. I just can't get over the absolutely abysmal FDB. That's gotta be the worst single pose of any Mr O ever. Even Ronnie's AaT or Phil's FLS look great in comparison.

    First time I ever heard anyone say Arnold was proportionate since his upper body totally overpowered his legs. As for his posing if you believe what was said at the time he never hit the poses requested & some say he was coached from the sidelines. His win was an insult to every other competitor on the stage as he was nowhere near good enough to win

    • @Tomn8er
      @Tomn8er  6 лет назад +1

      You misunderstand. I wasn't suggesting Arnold was the best in all those other bodybuilding categories, but was just listing off some of the other criteria. I agree his proportions were always a little off.

    Kinda agree with this. I also saw Nasser getting robbed at the British Grand Prix '96 (I was in the crowd), it was kinda obvious DY shoulda placed second.
    Something happened with Nasser tho, his delts and bi's looked like they changed too much in a year or so, got soft rear delts etc so suspected synthol use I think went against him and may have been some of the decision making behind his '96 and '97 defeats (what kind of message can we give out to the BB community if suspect synthol use wins the Mr O. etc.)
    I was in the crowd at the '97 British Grand Prix where I witness what I believe to being the best version of Kev Levrone period. It's not just me, its many other peoples opinion as well. Levrone at this outing (and other '97 grand prix shows) was just out of this world, he obviously didn't peak quite well enough for the actual '97 Mr Olympia outing itself.
    ruclips.net/video/T-jJ2K3WHaU/видео.html
    ruclips.net/video/_3MGyUyclUE/видео.html
    He was absolutely insane, and still to this day was the most impressive and complete BB I have ever seen at any show in person (had he shown up in '96 looking like this at the '96 British Grand Prix he would have wiped the floor with both Nasser and DY).
    Obviously peaking for the right show is difficult and Kev peaked after the Mr O and not before.
    What struck me the most about this particular version of Kev was his mass with insane conditioning, but.. the clincher was his back, finally it felt ON PAR with the rest of him, not something trying to keep up. It was thick, conditioned and WIDE, his rear double bicep really looked incredible now whereas before in other outings it was possibly his weakest shot. Incredible how peaking and all that other stuff ;) can change even how bodyparts look on the night of a show.

    i think that there def is a case for dorian in 97 since he beat nasser in multiple poses such as the side tri, front lat, rear lat, back double, and could make a case for hi in the abs and thigh. this makes him the winner in 5 mandatories, destroying Nasser in the two backshots. Dorians arms were never his strong point either way so the arm focussed poses do not really affect him tbh

    Great video, Nick would never make a hardcore bodybuilding video like this. I agree with everythinf, I am sick of people calling Ray, Flex, Levrone, Kai... uncrowned MO when they clearly didn't win any year despite being great bodybuilders. Just because you like a bodybuilder doesn't mean he is a mister olympia, try to be objective. I like the Physique of Charles Clairmonte more than Yates, but I won't bullshit how he is better

    • @michaelr.4878

      I agree with everything you said. There is only one guy and one specific year where I will use the term, 'Uncrowned Mr. Olympia'...and that is for Nasser in 1997. He beat Yates, hands down. Yeah, Yates had him from behind, but that was it. It was similar to Rhoden and Heath in the back department. That year, Nasser had the perfect balance of mass with aesthetic lines. How often have we seen a total monster look that good? But that is the only year I will use the term, 'uncrowned Mr. Olympia'. Even if Yates didn't have the torn up arm, I still would have awarded Nasser with the win.
